I remember the Depression very well and the Dirty 30s. Lot of these are Dust Bowl pictures.  I remember a lot of wealthy people went broke.

@AmazingItalianGirl But...for some reason we fail to realize that this is what 3rd world countries endure in 2011. As Savgal states, this is where we are headed. We just borrowed money from China. We can't take something from nothing. I personally think we are living in the great depression. Many are unemployed and homeless. Every dollar you make goes right back to bill collectors and landlords. You pay off school until death, and your house. Its easier not to work than it is to work.

As a history and social studies teacher I recognized many of Dorthea Langes' work. To say I was moved by your interpretation would be an understatement. You worry about people being bored but I think you could have added on an extra minute or so and still kept interest high. Maybe an addition like how much GNP dropped over the first few years or the Hoover administrations laissiez faire attitude toward the economy. Grand work, thank you for posting this and God bless.
