Great tribute to a great man. Brings back a memory of my brother, one of Mr. Tapley's students back in the early sixties. One early November day, after a fight with my mother, he ran away from our house in Georgetown, CO, wearing a pair of her gold jeweled flats (that he had borrowed for a Halloween costume and thought them humorous to wear) and kept walking, where he didn't return for two days. He had gone up into the mountains and built himself a lean to, all the while, wearing those shoes.
