I liked them both. In the defense of Critters, the Gremlins flicks had much higher budgets and the Spielberg name attached so that helped I'm sure. Critters are obviously a copycat and potential money maker....like many others of the time like Munchies and Goulies. I like all of these but hold Gremlins up higher in terms of quality filmmaking..

There's an odd comparison between the two but... they're both original things.

Still, all things considered, I can completely understand why you would favor the Gremlins in the end, I do too. Design and storyline for example.

The Critters... well, it's the kind of movie that makes you say "where do they come up with this stuff?". That's usually how I like a lot of movies, wild and crazy... but here I am rambling. I like both but yes, I love my Gremlins just a bit more! Sorry Critters....

Gremlins would totally win because: 1,they reproduce in water, one just has to jump in a sink to call reinforcements. 2. they're always shooting guns and hot wiring electronics and shit (some natural talent for destruction and chaos) 3. Gremilins survive even when full of holes (gremlins 2 lab scene) 4. Gremlins have no fear, except sunlight, and often do not care about even killing their own friends. Love Critters, but Gremlins win! BUT! Critters can go in the sun and do that giant ball thing.

Love Gremlins but Critters take em. Those fuckers can get huge and have those poison quills they shoot out of their backs. The Critters also seem to be somewhat intelligent. I mean they can fly interstellar space craft and use advanced weapons systems. The Gremlins are awesome but I just can't put my faith into someone when they have been thwarted by Gizmo of all people on multiple occasions.

The Gremlins do seem like they would have the advantage. They have limbs, multiply with the smallest amout of water, and their smart enough to hotwire any machine (vehicle or otherwise).

The Critters have some tricks, but I doubt they'd have much of a chance against their counterparts.
