  • Ray Sharpe's one hit wonder. What a good tune!

  • Don't remember this song from back in the day.......but I likes it alot......!!!!

  • Tom Jones is better!

  • @hhmarton95 Tom Jones is better than what? Than nothing?

  • it's a pity the guitar is slowly fading out at the end, it should begin in the middle.

  • This song will be heard for 1.000 years!! Love from Arica Chile!

  • Ray is cool man

  • I'm a-gonna add this song to' Kansas City' as a medley....after I get the drummer to play that classic style that this guy is playin'....not many drummers know the lick these days....♫♫

  • This is really my full name. o.0 Omg. This is weird. I just searched my name up on Google.

  • Oh Linda Lu, I Loooooove yu.

  • Buddy Holly could have made this a #1 hit if he'd lived long enough

  • Man, what the hell?!? I've never heard of him before....thank you, Markowee. I would've surely gone to my grave never knowing....

  • ORIGINAL ROCK 'N ROLL DANCE CLUB! DJ Tall Mike

  • everyone's an expert LOL

    This was IT!!!

  • Never cared for it all that much back when believe you me. It's much the same with Be Bop a Lulu by Gene & Boni Maroni by Larry Williams, yet there tops in the music industry. I guess them the brakes, but then I don't believe in them anyway, I just refer to them & play what I want to play!, isn't it something no more dj's to put up with (whew).

  • @Ezdduf4kuZ You were 12 years old in 1959. Ha ha ha!! : )

  • @Ezdduf4kuZ "Never cared for it all that much back when" Really? So, who cares what you thought, then?

  • @hwgray He's WAY off his rocker...

  • The way it was meant to be!

  • Yes Sir!

  • Simple rithens. No high tech crap . just real feelings!!!!

  • How high did this get on the U.S. charts and what year? I used to hear it in the mid sixties some...

  • Addictive song!

  • Mary. Your taste is impeccable. Had this record got the marketing it deserved (In Britain) when it was released in 1959 it would have been a massive hit. For some reason it wasn't until 1961 that the so called 'Marketing Executives' realized what a great rock and Roll song this actually was. Suddenly they sent it out to all the radio stations to play, but by this time (late 1961) there was a new sound in Town called Beat and a new era had begun. Very sad for Ray Sharpe.

  • Excellent, Thanks marylouise2 for the share

  • I didn't know he was black either. Great song here. I used to have an 8-track tape of him with this song on it but it somehow got lost after my dear hubby passed on from a heart attack in March. He liked this song too. Love you Mike...

  • This song Rocks and you know it Daddy!

  • this is music man

  • great i love this song, and the new linda lu too

  • Duane Eddy, will release a Cd of all new material in the near future. Look for "Artifacts Of Twang" to also feature...Brian Setzer, Phil Everly and Griffen House.

  • For fifty years I didn't know Ray Sharpe was black. What a great song. Thanks for the post and pics,

  • One of the best songs ever...

  • I believe it's Ray sharpe's version that counts in the end.

  • Right out of Texas, Ray Sharpe is an original.

  • Produced by Lee Hazlewood, In Phoenix Arizona. Duane Eddy is playing the riff.

  • Of all the versions i have heard, this has to be amongst the best.

  • What a classic from the 50s. I love it. Thanks.

  • Great Guy!!!

  • The original - and still the best by far. Thank you.

  • Knowing!

  • Roy Buchanan is the guitarist on this gem.
