Those of you who don't know Herrmann's oeuvre may be interested to listen to two other scores which can largely be imagined as interpolations of the two themes embedded within the "Twisted Nerve" score. Give a listen to the main title from "Sisters," the Brian DePalma film. Also the woodwind melody in "Twisted Nerve" is reminiscent of "Obsession," also a De Palma flick. A quite good one, if not his best. The blacklisted Cliff Robertson is impeccable. And so too is a very young John Lithgow.

Twisted Nerve is the most appropiate title for a soundtrack as delightful as this. I honestly have to say this is the most impressive tune espicially for it being made in it's time. Splendid beyond all it's sinister meaning.
