oh man i hate this issue...normally i would have a quick solution for you but someone else has. but if you ever need help with a certain system registery on steam i can help you, just ask and i'll tell you.

@37474748 well there is a certain glitch that can happen when you exit out of steam mid-game or it crashes on you mid game, you have to well hold on...oh yeah take the system registry and name it system registry old so it'll create a new system registry.

@cuttock yeah i got allot of good response from this video and i do think for the most part the issues are solved :) but then again with all these new hardware its impossible to get old stuff to run allot of times. an old pc is really your best bet.

right click on your desktop >> properties >> settings >> extended >> trouble-shooting >> hardware-accelation >> set the regulator down (leftwards) until all directdraw, direct3D and so on accelations is deactivated >> apply >> start the game and enjoy playing ;) ... don't forget to reset the regulator to maximum after finish playing biosys ;)

Hi, I played Biosys and my brother fix this problem, you have to go on the screen options, go on configuration and click on Advanced Options, click in troubleshooter and take the full, o nothing.

Disabling H/W acceleration works as advertised :D

No need to put the slider all the way to zero, though....set it on the 3rd position, and you're good to go.

It's quite a shock, to see this game on a widescreen 22", haha...at 640x480/256 colours, LOL.

But the story and the soundtrack do the trick again, it's incredibly immersive.

Yeah, hardware acceleration both for graphics and sound should always be the first thing you mess with if a game doesn't work using compatability modes in XP!

Awsome game still have it! will try play it now you have told me how to on xp, i almost finished this but somthing bizzare happened to me and it just became impossible, i almost had the vines growing so you could climb out of the byomes and then all of a sudden everything just started to die? so hard but fun!

I played this awesome game on w indows xp machine very well. I try to explain how to run the game (I have hungarian version, so I try to translate the steps correctly:)

- go to display properties/settings (where you can set resolutions among many others)

- press special... (it brings up a new panel with many tabs)

- choose tab 'troubleshooting"

- there is a slider named hardware acceleration. This slider must be set to left (to none).

- Press OK. The game should run fine.

Hi! This game not work on xp... I also tried it. Furtunately i've an old machine with win98. Try to install the 98 next to xp to another partition.....That was a great game. = )
