I love apple, but I hate the bullshit they try spreading in order to make theirs look good. There's nothing a PC can't do that a Mac can, and vice versa. They're simply 2 solutions for doing the same thing - computing. Enough of this "My dad it better than yours" nonsense.

Why can't Macs run on AMD? Why can't you buy Mac OS for any computer?

Casual Mac users totally need Xenon processors with ECC RAM. iTunes and Safari really need that added stability. Amirite?

Honestly, I think Mac OS X would run like crap had it ran on any computer. More worries for apple, why do u think apple solves lots of hardware & software glitches with software & firmware updates quickly? Nor do I see them missing out on anything for not using AMD chips. The AMD only seems right if Apple bought AMD (And They Can) so everything is custom built. I get by just fine with a Core 2 Duo & I make lots of videos on other accounts, do lots of handbrake & iDVD projects, & photoshop.

a Mac uses the processor WAY more efficiently than a PC. i can say that cuz my macbook pro core 2 duo is faster than my i5 fujitsu lifebook.

@jack390 I installed a better heatsink on my I5, now its up to 3.2GHZ most days and 3.6 when I play crysis 2, without upping the volage or temps going past 70c so it won't break, so your dual core can suck crysis 2 playing cock.

Keep in mind into what Intel Chips were limited to for Over 20+ years prior 2006. Maybe Macs like an iMac may be limited to customizations but theres no easier way to TRIPLE BOOT Mac OS X, Windows & Linux into one machine. Come to think about, Intel Chips aren't so trapped in Macs at all. Chips more productive actually.

Mac OS X; good for video editing, photo editing, sound editing, linear design however is not ideal for office tasks like collating charts, however, that is made up for by having pdf at the core of the graphics foundation

MS Windows; great for games, office, has potential for graphics with accelerated features, only true fall-back is that you can make a computer with any old parts and put Windows in it, when you have assorted parts you have crashes because of incompatibilities

As far as Office, it can be done just as well on a Mac. I'm a student and have taken a course specifically learning almost everything about Office 08. The funny part is, I only had Office 04 for Mac at home and yet I managed to do all my assignments. I never told my instructor that.

Custom computer Incompatibilities? I know exactly. I've built a custom computer a while back. For about 4 months it randomly restarted. It now has over a year that it hasn't done so anymore. No Clue

And the custom PC I built is working by a thread with no issues no. I've been using (PresHOTT) Prescott Processors and the socket was so toasted. I had to pry off the processor because the leaver cracked off. And this computer has over 8 LED lit fans in it.

My iMac has the ATI X1600 with 128MB and it's not bad. I've tried a few intense games in the past while running XP Pro on it and it does quite well. But Playstation is more comfortable for this.
