Health insurance companies have been known to only make a mere 6% profit margin in comparison to the hospitals, doctors and pharmaceutical companies (many of which are unionized), which have been known to make up a much larger portion of the profit structure in the medical field. I feel they should have included tort reform in this bill as well.

This is one thing that I can actually agree with regarding this healthcare bill as a registered Republican. I commend Perriello and Markey to consider this in the legislation. Although, I do feel that they should be able to buy across state lines to sustain competition in this particular sector.

I have been praising her. God, she's only trying to help the middle class in this country! Why don't you people look at motives. The Republicans are only interested in kick-backs from corporations. Judy - Do you suggest the money handed to other parasites exempt Pelosi from ridicule. You and I did not write the checks - congress did , Pelosi did - DEMS and GOP signed off. Friend Judy - I can only urge you to judge politicians on what they do, not what they say.
What we see is theater, a play designed for public consumption. I suggest there is negligible difference in GOP and DEMS, nothing has changed, our country is bankrupt, living on debt that can't be repaid, social security funds are not banked but spent as quickly as ALL politicians can get their hands on the cash for political gain. Judy - Yes, bring the troops home - Not happening though is it? However I do not share your anger with those of means, rather I am angry with corruption, a big difference. It's simple, move the top 2%, (the wealthy) to Canada or tax them until they choose to move elsewhere, taking their wealth/business etc, along. A VERY BAD idea eh? I repeat - NOTHING IS CHANGING, the private sector can not fund our massive public sector.. We are in deep trouble, took decades to get here. Regards

She's such a hypocrite. If they thought the plan they are offering is so good they would mandate that all senators and reps get the plan they propose.
She doesn't need it though because she's one of the wealthiest members of congress due to her husband's investments. It's easy to increase taxes on the middle class to support the lower class when you're sitting on millions of dollars. Her husband's businesses have a much higher profit margin than the insurance companies she chastises.

How about this accountability for congress, stop being able to vote on your own salary. Where are the checks and balances when you decide how much money you make? There might not be an easy way to fix congress, but identifying some of the problems is a good start.
