Powerful but unrealistic that this little somewhat slovenly group at the back of beyond sounds better than the Westminster choir or kings college. But it was exquisite. Sweet boy, very sad. Only thing is.... if his first ride I'd have been out there with him to watch and guard. Maybe not bad parents but not mindful or cautious.
The scene in the church is probably the most moving scene I have ever seen in film or television. The mood builds throughout the programme until this and then the combination of theb eautiful music and the memories it evokes for Miranda Richardson leave me speechless.
5:37 brilliant... nuclear power in a meadow.. the thought of all that nuclear waste in barrels at the bottom of the sea -- or what now... shooting the barrels into the sun!! followed by such lovely music... and terrifying memories of the boy..
Good reason to have several children! It puts too much psychic burden on the KID to be an "only"! This exhibition of extreme English repression brings back painful memories - I thought I had long laughed off! If only they could JUST BE NATURAL, but no, they must follow the "Rule" of "Law" - and the kid gets killed! FOR FOLLOWING THE IDIOT RULES!
