  • very impressive video..keep up the good work!

  • I have heard about this news but really impressive.

  • This is old news!!!!

  • Ok, well it does make sense and if it makes sense, I am happy to give it a go..Hopefully have some fun along the way too..

  • Ok fine Thomas.... It's how the world is. Of course, those that will survive, the safari must continue. We meet through accident, i don't know why? Networking is a strange phenomena, which can easily be confused with happenings in day to day life.

Prepare the ground and we see what happens next. No conditions pls.

  • That's right Thomas, the world is changing faster than ever and by being open people will become part of the change instead of watching what is happening in the media.

  • It is a right point that Thomson is making. It is right and correct. dr k p.

  • Interesting. A plea on social media to join a structured organization to learn more about social media. No thanks. I much prefer open, random, supportive . . . and effective!

  • @SrLeoSalazar excuse me where was the plea?

  • I agree with thomas power that the distinctions made between Open-Random-Supportive (ORS) and Closed-Selective-Controlling (CSC) are not pointless. These are useful distinctions that describe different forms of communications systems. Whilst the context is in business and marketing in this case, the different patterns of communication systems were observed by academics since the 1940's; they were made in the field of journalism by psychologist-physicist, William Stephenson.

  • @MultiSimon39 The chemistry of networking owing to where we are coming from will remain a huge challenge for some time to come. The dogging question on ORS versus CSC is (ROI). Of course, i understand you clearly on this issue

  • MPA or More Pointless Acronyms is the focus of this video. And a buzz word like social marketing. What is social marketing, posting ads on social networks, forums and spamming links such as this video by email?

  • @rgaufman I am sorry the message is unclear to you. Pointless. Not in the slightest.

  • @thomaspowerecademy I agree with the message, I just think it's dressed up with un-needed acronyms and kind of goes without saying these days. Maybe I'm missing something.

  • @rgaufman I don't think it "goes without saying" as Governments, Corporations, Institutiions, Education establishments remain Closed Selective Controlling (CSC) and are not adapting to the Open Random Supportive (ORS) nature of the Internet. Until they change the world won't truly embrace the Internet.

  • Hi Thomas, thanks for forwarding this to me. I have a powerful set of knowledge tools that I would like to share with you... The tools are the result of 10 years' research which culminated in my PhD from a British University, entitled 'Leadership by Subjectives: an Emergent Strategy for Personal and Organisational Transformation (2004). Any direction that you can provide, as to how to take my research to the next step would be most appreciated. Thankyou for making the distinctions so clear

  • I appreciate Thomas to teach us on the ORS method.

  • Great video and insight Thomas

  • excellent job, keep up the good work.

  • Thank you for this video. Very informative.

  • I love this video. I wonder how some of the effects are done...Scratching my green head wondering...Love the content too of course ;-) William Debauchez.

  • There IS a revolution going on. I love the word supportive, in a recession people start communicating better...long may it last LOL

  • hi Thomas, nice video. Good work with everything and hope to talk to you all more soon :)

  • Thomas

Don;t you think its all about the acceptanc eof a paradigm and then living or workign according to these rules. However, when change happens or you move your location your perception is forced to move and even though you retain the rules you slowly end up with a different paradigm.

The impact can only happen when there is a sudden shift, either a competitor make sthe jump and usually an outsider it will be, as he or she will not have the rules and will not be carrying this bagage.Jose

  • Great video.... nice idea....

  • Awesome video! Open, Random, Supportive.... it′s so simple and so effective.

  • Reading the comments , too easy to be cynical but with the generation to come they wont use the buzzwords they just will use the tools seamlessly and change the fabric of institutions just because they have not grown up and been educated believing the systemic barriers exist. All good change takes some time but I wouldn't count on waiting until 2020 as the comments below. This stuff speeds up the change process and long may it continue as a great catalyst

  • Hi Thomas,

I totally adhere to IRW030370. But I go even further. What you do is naive and innocent and dangerous for your self. Please read the theory. Your statement goes in the right direction, I agree with the democracy concept and with the shift from institutional thinking to network thinking. But...

  • Thomas - We've been through this debate so many times in the past - Open & Supportive I get - but Random? I know you refer to Selective as institutional thinking, but isn't Random just poorly targeted marketing? If you're totally random, then surely there is too much white noise? You & I never have a proper conversation and nobody has properly answered this question for me - as they are simply stretched too thin.

    I remain to be convinced.

  • Embracing random connections is a huge leap for people it will take until 2020 to become a mainstream phenomena.

  • Sorry Thomas but "Embracing random connections is a huge leap for people it will take until 2020 to become a mainstream phenomena" is just an empty statement that doesn't even attempt to answer my question.

Random connectivity is the same as throwing excrement at the wall and seeing what sticks.

I think I understand why Ecademy encourages this - the more internal connections, the easier it is to sell advertising, plus the added SEO benefits. Are you simply trying to cloak the truth?

  • "What A Good Presentation" - great stuff Thomas & looking forward to more. Best wishes , Will

  • This is Brillant! Really superb!
