Does anyone know the name of the music that plays when they actually summon the Iron Chefs? I listened to all the tracks on the Backdraft soundtrack and I didn't hear that one.
"Nearly a decade ago a man's fantasy became reality, in a form never seen before, Kitchen Stadium, a giant cooking arena. The motivation behind Kitchen Stadium, was to encounter new original cuisines, which could be called true artistic creations."
What I really wanna know is what's the name of the song they play just before the battle, when Chairman Kaga steps in and takes a bite out of a pepper?
Look up " Show me your firetruck " from the Backdraft soundtrack. I think it's more accurate to the clips they played on the show rather than this one. Also, listen through "Show me your firetruck" the whole way, and in the last minute or so, you'll be in for one of those epic nostalgic moments when you remember it where they used that specific clip.
I remember wtching that show when I was a kid. I liked everything about it, especially how the Iron chefs appear with that fancy music. When the last episode aired, i cried because it was such a great show. Then his nephew(I doubt he is though.) redone iron chef as iron chef america but i didn't like it at all, especially in the opening since i saw him throw a bell pepper(Chairman Kaga's favorite food, as seen in the original opening) But my love in the original never went away.
The guy is the fictional nephew, yes. I love the Japanese versions, they've got JUST the right flair, and they're not over dramatic. When Chairman Kaga goes "Allez Cuisine!" (Allet kizzeen!) it's just a thing of beauty. The American version is so.....iunno, corny, I guess. Just way too overdone. Alton Brown is its saving grace. :D
The american one is pretty good. Abviously not as good as the original but I still like it. They were just trying to keep the dream alive, nothing wrong with that~
i disagree sir. lol. I believe it is important to show persons from America what American chef are like. I do agree however that the new version is not as good as the original but isn't that the case for most spin-offs?
Yeah, but I think the main point is that so much of the show wasn't the cooking, by the style. It's like the Top Gear series. Yes, you can make a show with cars, and banter, and crazy stunts, but the Iron Chef America show is just a cooking competition show. It doesn't have the same style, or chemistry, or art to it. It's a rela shame, but it's very difficult to re-create a good show.
i agree with you both, im just saying that the American version isnt all that bad, however i will say that if it were not for Alton Brown.... i would not watch it
The good ol days of Iron Chef I loved it on food network cryed when they stopped airing it was happy when it came back to tv (the only time I will thank Fine Living) even tho the new music sucks I love watching the show and glad to see it back! Long live the Japanese Iron Chef (not a fan of the American version)
Not only have they Redid the music (which is terrible now) but they also seem to have redubbed the chairman. I think its such disrespect to him now especially when it was on the Food Network he was always the only one that was subtitled (though the guy did narrate the stories about the chefs/ingredients) Such a shame. Still good that this show came back. Missed it when Iron chef America came on the scene.
dude! I watched this show before and had always wondered what that song was. especially when i heard it at that one theme park in orlando or was it calfornia? anyway i heard it at the building where they had a presentation on the "backdraft" movie's special effects. thanks for solving that mystery for me.
I can't even watch the show anymore because of it.
The opening sets the tone for the show... and it's just so bland now. Whoever thought the music change was a good idea probably thinks that fish ice cream is a good idea too.
@Crimmond Unfortunately, I think the change was because Fine Living Network doesn't have the rights to use the original music, which was owned by NBC Universal. Often, that's why music changes when shows get syndicated. I agree though - the newer theme is very bland!
Why did they change the music? I figured it was because they were showing newer episodes. Nonetheless this music fits Chairman Kaga and the preposterousness of Food Stadium. This song hits the spot and it's just cause I heard it first with the show.

The song is from the soundtrack of the movie Backdraft (1991).
The name of the song is actually "Fighting 17th".
Hope it helped.

Thank you, a great soundtrack it is...
...by the way, the word 'exciting' has a 'c' in it (I only mention this because I often see it spelt 'exiting' online).
