how i achieved remission ...the first time it started was when i was 19..the doc gave me asacol and i jus cudnt believe i wud have to take this expensive drug that didnt even work so i stopped takin that after few days and did research on colitis and realized it had to alot with stress so i jus prayed and went on a pomengrante cabbage bannana celery green leafy vegtable juice diet and took grape seed extract and fish oil and a few hits of marjuana a day which led to remission within months
You could try buying a juicer and juicing green veggies and carrots and fruits. This could help strengthen your body and help you out with your chronic illness. -Hope this helps, I love hearing your story, you are a strong person <3
I certainly remember surgery and hospital stays setting me back. I used to think of it as "pausing life" while I got my health under control, but then I realized that if you simply wait for things to get better all the time you might be missing out on something here in the present. Keep on fighting! I'm sure some good will come out of this break from college!
Hi Nadia! I definatly understand the partial portion! I was accepted into The National Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine program. Which would have meant I could spend a week exploring what it would be like to be a doctor and get information on possible colleges. I was planning to go Summer 2010 but with my health worsening had to make the choice not to commit to going (you had to this month) since the chances aren't looking good of me being up to going. Maybe I can do Summer 2011..hopefully!
