  • I hardly know where to begin. I think I understand what you are protesting here, and it seems to me that you are doing so in a very effective way. The djeli must be more than an entertainer. Musicians and stroy-tellers are the cultural blood of a people. They can make things happen. I thought I had seen some glimmer of a feminist movement in music in some of the videos I have seen from Guinea, Mali and Senegal. This removes all doubt in my mind. I wish you well.
