  • Excellent page here..loving the vibe!..

  • "And spaces... and egg... AND FAT!"

  • Mm, yum yum! What a good way to use up stale bread. But how does she hold one “just out of the oven” in her bare hands? Doesn’t she need oven gloves?

  • lol

  • is this meant to be ironic or is she really serious?

  • What a delightful woman! God bless you, Ms Warmsley. I will definitely be checking in with you on the Oxfam site. Your videos have inspired me to sew those buttons back on and mend the tears while cooking with left-overs and lots of vegetables! Thank you!

  • You can always use old white bread for toasts (frozen stays for ever) or just for bread crumbs for fish fingers etc.

  • You remind me of my Mum, nothing goes to waste! :)

  • I was born in the war and I've been doing 'frugality' for years. My friends say I am so tight I squeak when I walk. But why waste money? Being frugal means I have more money to spend on the things I enjoy.

It's very easy to be negative and knock things. People even think it's clever.

The world would be a better place and we'd all be a lot happier if we made an effort to nice to each other.

  • hmmm what did i just click on?????

  • i just got this job come through to me via email

"IS Solution Development Manager (Oxfam GB) £33,700 - £39,624 pa (plus market supplement up to £12,376) | Oxford"

    nearly £53,000 a year ? WTF

You can only imagine what the Directors get. This is WRONG. This is supposed to be a CHARITY ffs

  • mmmm....that looked good! I never thought of making anything like that with my stale bread...it usually just goes to the dog.

  • I thought this was about weed.

  • @maxwolfeee yeah, me too :P

  • I think she should remake some of her clothes for the grandchildren so that they can wear jackets to walk to school instead of having to go in their shirt sleeves.

  • granny knows best !! kids

  • It doesn't look very tasty to me.

  • the intro cracks me up all the timmeeeee hello im barbra, your green granny.

    hahahahahahahahahahah

  • Super Green Duo says you can also feed stale bread to the poor birds. See the Super Green Duo in their quest to save the planet in their Super Green Duo YouTube video.

  • Lol

  • good show granny i love you

  • It's a great idea to get kids involved in "real" cooking. Too many grow up without any knowledge of how to cook.

  • i just saw u on tv

  • haha this was on Sky News!!! xD

  • she's been only the TV at holland, awesome !

  • Is it okay to bake the stale bread if it has a bit of mould on it?

  • thats not a good idea just in case you get sick

  • mmmm delicious! I make this kind of cake already since I was twelve and I love it! :D

  • This is actually really good :D

  • Green Granny Rocks

  • The cake made from leftover bread actually looked very good when she took it out of the oven! I love Voluntary Simplicity and her tips go right along with what I've been living over the past 2 years. I think more people need to listen to these tips given by a wise, experienced elder.

  • I think it's great - we need to try new things to make ends meet!

  • Wonderful, this is what you tube is best at having great ideas passed on through ideas that lovely people like The Green Granny have. I will be watching many more of her videos for sure.

  • Thank you for what you are doing. . . what a wonderful example to set for everyone to watch.

  • Awesome tips for all in need well done unfortunate people have to be so negative after all it just comes back to choice and you Granny have made excellent choice inposting your ideas. I am certain many people can benefit from your informative videos.

  • I agree xTaintedKnightx. I almost daily cringe at comments I read on youtube or other sites

  • i saw you on global t.v i loved all the videos so please chek my videos at 16julierox2

  • Oh I love her! Great! :-D

  • just seen you on the news,,keep up the god work..

  • Byee Grann!:D

  • Hi Grandma!!

    Its me! You know who!!

    Keep it up!!:D

    Your Awsome!!

  • You could save loads of cash by sending your grandchildren to a normal, state school instead of an expensive fee-paying one. Seems a fairly obvious way of saving money to me, unless you think there's something wrong with state education?

  • Wow! Just watched you on Sky News!!! Well done!

  • go green granny nice tips.

  • Slovak girlfriend did not see a bananatill she was 12 ...

  • Hey Hanchan112 ! There's no need to be rude! Green Granny is only trying to help reduce our waste!

  • Hi, I'm someone who is going green, helping our world. I made this one video about it. PLEASE type in Going Green Wouldn't Hurt, and click on it. It's a quick vid, and it would be cool if someone checked it out...

  • Man... looking at all the comments.. I just hate how the Internet can be so cynical about things that it doesn't need to be cynical about.

It's an old lady showing you how to make something with left-over food. I mean judging by her age, she probably lived through the war - when people had NO CHOICE but to do it.

Just because someone is offering tips on how to do something you think is irrelevant doesn't mean you should be horrible about it.

Jesus fuck, am I the only dude here defending this?

  • You're not alone defending this.

It's good stuff - if you want to live well without running off to live in a tent in the hills.

There IS a way of living in the modern, Western world without causing a global eco disaster every time you get out of bed. Just takes a tiny bit of effort.

I'm English and my parents live through the blitz - me and my sister grew up in the 60's with VERY little and to this day I "make do and mend". It's just a head space.

  • Don't worry T.Knight, these people will suffer soon as food and money starts to become a rarity in life.

I am a pensioner, (UK) who lives with my wife, also a pensioner. We are both War babies, and although we only have the government pension we live and eat well, and can even afford to go on cruises for our holiday. What little savings we have pay us 0.5% - we don't have enough to get larger amounts. But hell, life is great for us. And we want for nothing.

  • @xTaintedKnightx OMG, it's bread pudding!!! I love this and so do lots of people in Jamaica. It's fun to make with stale or fresh bread...

  • Just a little FYI Granny....people who are poor don't through bread away nor does it stick around long enough to go stale....stupid.

  • HEY! There's no need to be mean about this video! She's just trying to be helpful! Because, YES SOME PEOPLE DO waste their bread! It's not stupid, not at all! I know that your entitled to your own opinion, but don't go around telling people their ideas are stupid!

  • eeeugh XDD fruit and eggs and fat...

  • lmao!!!!!!!

  • Nice video. The kids are adorable. We can learn alot from you.

  • Wow, very interesting video you made. haha It seems like you got a lot of comments on it. (= good job on that! Make more

  • I Love this!

  • talk about friggen green granny? leavin 3 whole lamps on in the middle of the day

  • This lady seems lovely, I wish she was my gran!

  • Go Granny!~!~!

  • easy for her to say...shes obviously retired...who that actually works or goes to school has time for that?

  • well...that's actually the point - we are supposed to be making time to enjoy our planet and look after it...i am a single mother who also works and studies - and I MAKE time to look after our planet. It's really a matter of what your priorities are - mine is the environment. All other things (work/study etc) can still fit in with this depending on your lifestyle choices :) I CHOOSE to be aware of the environmental impact of all my lifestyle choices, even if it sometimes take more effort :)

  • I am a full time student and part time volunteer and I have time!

  • Wow, very interesting video you made. haha It seems like you got a lot of comments on it. (= good job on that! Make more

  • This is something only the Brits would eat!

  • It has more taste than junk american crappy McDonalds....which are shite

  • Omg sooo lame

  • Please, she's just trying to help. You shouldn't go around saying people's ideas about not wasting are lame!

  • nice tips...but leaving a bulb on in the middle of the day seems very un-green to me:)

  • Crikey I thought that was a great cooking idea for stale bread! Onya Granny!

  • To be really green go vegan.

  • I wish I had a granny like her.

  • I don't feel like eating that.

  • You'd eat it if there was nothing else. During the war time, there was so little food that people were fined a week or more worth of wages for feeding old food to animals.

  • i wanna be a granny NOW

  • Pippa is such a cuuute name!

  • Aww, I think she's lovely! Funny how these techniques used to be pretty common sense ways of saving resources at home during WWII. Nowadays, we call it "green". We could learn a lot from her generation.

  • this is a cool video:) finally something that actually informs you about... well not wasted food and some nice simple fast cooking recipe's wish my grandma was like that when i was growing up:)

  • I hope that Green Granny ignores all of these retarded idiots on here and continues doing her thing. She has to be the nicest person I've seen on one of these silly YouTube videos and she's smart in practical wisdom too! I want to see more! And for you slobs that don't think how the children were dressed is "cool," I want to see how much further you go than these children. I wonder who is more mature, the children or you. I think all children should be taught the proper way of dress!!

  • very nice tips.

  • she is sexy, i want that granny!

  • wow,

    that was grossssss

    way to go!!!

  • I don't see the children smiling at all but im gonna try did what she just make. I usually have leftover a lot ! so thanks gran !

  • Can you be my granny :)

  • I agree about turning the light off during daytime, but I think the video might look a little dull without the lights on. That's what I think anyway. They could've had hidden the lighting so people wouldn't fuss over it showing it will give the impression that the whole thing is not "Green" rather hypocritical.

  • it would be helpful to post the particulars of "Fruit and Spices and Egg" in the info bar on the right.

  • this have realy good sounding

  • soggy bread....my worst enemy, i bet my life i wouldn't like it

  • What did she mean by "fat"...?

As in the FAT off of meat? Or WHAAATTT?
