I'm not sure when it became culturally acceptable to tag. I notice most taggers won't tag their own house, but are completely willing to tag other people's houses. I know another creature that does something like that, it's called a dog. The very few god enough to tag artistically are often respectful about where they do it, and usually cover it up afterwards.
