  • wow, thanks for the advice man

  • Is it me, or do the symbols on the floor surrounding the pedestal strongly resemble the Mirror of Twilight?

  • i used to love this song when i was a kid!!!

  • "Shadow Temple...Here lies Hyrule's bloody history of greed and hatred..."

...Truer words were never spoken after seeing this temple and listening to this music for the first time when I was younger and got OoT when it first came out.

  • @GradiusicCyber Here's something to think about regarding that message on the wall: It's revealed elsewhere in the game that a few years before the events of OoT, Hyrule was having a very bloody civil war. The Shadow Temple is filled with both human remains and torture and execution equipment. What do you think happened to captives during the war? Also, it would appear that countless children are buried in unmarked graves in Hyrule Field. Sweet dreams. :D

  • no way! bottom of the well is WAY scarier. i literally used to skip that place when i was younger, just too damn scary. i just used cheats to get the lens of truth lol

  • Hmm, is there a way to UN-extend this song to, like, 0:00? Yes, that suits me better, much better.

  • Im planning to go with a group of friends to the cemetery playing this song in my mp3 while stoned

  • @xXRoMpEcAmInOsXx Did it dude,don't.

  • @CursedLink666 lol, why?

  • @xXRoMpEcAmInOsXx It was all cool at first, then i got more high and saw an empty grave (didnt kno it was new) right before a tree root tripped me, freaked out and ran for a mile. good weed, bad times man.

  • This is really cool, in my opinion.

  • Dem fucking wallmasters :C I never expected to have a hand come down and grab me, so now I have nightmares of hands chasing me everywhere. This temple and BoTW really screwed my mind up, now I act really creepy and insane. All the research and obsession with Guillotines doesn't help. Everyone is so scared of me. :D

  • Play this while in the Nether in Minecraft, you'll shit yourself.

  • I cannot express in words my undying love for this game! Listening to this for 10 whole minutes has only riled me up to gtf off my computer and go play it!

  • I forgot the lens of truth (in the well), I thought you were supposed to find it in the temple; together with the hovering boots... It wasn't weird that I felt lost all the time :-/

  • I don't know why, but I wish Link could've had a purple tunic for the Shadow Temple and a yellow one for the Spirit

  • Bottom of the Well was scarier than the shadow temple.

I AM NOT KIDDING, l REALLY wet my pants in BotW

  • @reshiram32 I agree/...Botw is insanely more terrifying

  • @SoundlyAwakeTonight especially the first time going through... l remember too when l was first in Botw and l fell through a invisible hole and l was like Wait, WHAT THE FUCK JUST HAPPENED!!!!!

  • @reshiram32 Definitely, with the hands in the rivedr and what not, and the blood X with the chains...

I can go back into the Shadow Temple, but not the place.

  • @DiojiCat The blood with a wood X in chains... SADLY, that was removed in the 3DS. At least the blood was removed. Which l didn't like. At all. I love creepy things but not too creepy, such as entering a room only to find out that THOUSANDS of Like Likes were in there... I fucking swear... In the Bottom of the Well l entered a room where a SINGLE Like Like appeared and I FUCKING SWEAR I WET MY PANTS AND LEFT THE ROOM.

  • @reshiram32 That's a shame. The blood was the best part. I liked that suggestive bit from Nintendo. D: I liked the creepy theme from the Shadow Temple and BotW, but I'm the exact same with Wallmasters and Floormasters. I was okay with Like Likes becuase you could at least stun them.

  • @reshiram32 Yes I agree! Those mini bosses were horribly scary.

  • Shadow temple is scarier in my opinion. Sorry. The torture devices was what scared me.

  • The shadow temple has my my favorite boss and one of my favorite items.........I love the shadow temple!

  • the shadow temple reminded me of saw for some reason as a kid. probably due to the traps.

  • I remember being about like 7 and replaying this game for like the hundredth time..and then I realized..That's bongo bongo banging the drums in the background.. I nearly threw my controller at my TV in fear xD

  • @SoundlyAwakeTonight Wow, I can't believe I never thought of that... o_O

  • wow i just notice that humming of souls is what they use for the fire temple after removing the chanting ..pretty kool

  • I was always scared about thinking when I'm gonna meet the next zombie xD (They were really scary for me as a child)

  • i can't help but notice it's not the temple u people are scared of it's the music and when u think about the temple is really short

  • effing wallmasters droping on your head, then effing Dead Hand shoots outta the ground to take a bite out of you, and finally you fall down a hole into a nest of redeads. Giving me effing nightmares...

  • you know when shits real when places are dark with small blotches of blood in a T rated or E rated game

  • This was probably my least favorite temple. The water temple was fun and madde you think but was a good temple. This was an amazing temple but my least favorite to play. Still a great temple with epic music.

  • what kind of a sickman invented da lense a truth ;)

  • i really hated this temple mainly because of the traps, things invisible to the naked eye... and unexpected "hands" from above.... if you know what i mean :P

  • LOL this temple is actually really.... WAAAA! REDEAD RAPE!!!

  • Redeads got really annoying in this Temple. I got through this Temple pretty far without the Lens of Truth. (Other than the first part)

  • I have a Dead Hand jacket.

  • Seems like redeads are moaning in the background....

  • @halfwolf66 I always thought it was when I was a kid.

  • im playing this while exploring minecraft caves...... jesus looking behind my back every couple of secs o.o

  • Its funny, this song, although scary, is comforting. Whenever I watch that stupid Ben shit and get freaked out I turn to OOT music, really good ambiance. But this makes me not afraid when I'm afraid of Ben.

  • I hate this temple more than the water temple.

  • I played this outside of my house on halloween. Thanks!

  • @TheFishingLuke IT WAS YOU!! HAHAHAAHAH I KNOW WHERE YOU LIVE!!

  • the temple was kinda creepy my first time going through but I can only look back on it with fondness. This music actually has a nice atmosphere to it solely because of nostalgia lol I kind of wish it sent chills down my spine like it used to

  • Scariest place in OoT! (Fuu there was no floor, fuu the hand just took me to the beginning)

  • imagine merging this temple with the water temple - that would create a suicide epidemic if they ever did that - but for me.... IT WOULD BE TOTALLY F____G AWSOME !!!!!!

  • @sparky2603415 my rank system:

all of them no game overs there ass beten yes i loved this game

  • @LeeAnn XD Totally. I was like:"Zomg.....is this........dark...or what...? ....uh..ok. *walks on* Hey....this isn't so...*Shadow Hand grabs me from up* WAAAAAAAH QoQ" Or the Hand: *defeats* ...damn yeah! eat shi....O.O *Hand deteriorates in THREE LITTLE ONES* NNNNNNNUUUUUUU QAQ" XD
  • this temple really scared me as a kid until i got the lens of truth.... it got pretty easy after that........

  • My rank system: Kid bosses: No gameovers. just pushover bosses

Phantom Ganon: 1 Gameover. the fake ganon and no fairies killed me

Volvga: 2 gameovers. he's a f**king asshole especially if you are a n00b on this game.

Morphia: 1 gameover. i could never get out of its grip

Bongo Bongo: 2 gameovers. I keep forgeting on using the LoT and my bow at times

TwinRova: 0 Gameovers. The f**king Iron Knuckles are tougher than them!

  • Home alone....

    Listening to this...

    While reading Creepypastas...

    WORST FUCKING IDEA EVER.

  • Of all of Ocarina of Time's bosses, and aside from Ganon/Ganondorf, I think Bongo Bongo gave me the most trouble.

  • general consensus vote: fuck this temple

  • I don't know about anybody else, but I found this temple incredibly easy to beat. The Water Temple took the longest for me to beat, but ....doesn't it usually take a long time for anybody to beat that one? haha

  • @MrDimitri3942 >< Where yoshi when you need him!

  • *goes through the entire temple terrified*

Oh great... This is scary as hell... I can only guess the boss will make me wet my pants...

    *sees the boss*

    ...What a rip-off, man.

  • i would be so pissed if i was in charge of keeping the shadow temple in order.

  • I think Shadow Temple should become a Scare Maze in real life.

  • I always turn the music low when I play this temple...

just creeps the hell out of me...

  • Comment removed

  • Damn floormasters...

  • Still awesome though.

Anyways this temple doesn't creep me out.

  • *Walks in,stops*

"this remindes me of my childhood"

*saves turns off the game crys on floor for a half an hour*

  • the only temple i ever had a heard time on i will take the water temple over the shadow temple any day

  • @nightmarebeast89 DAMN RIGHT, I died in this place 5 times and never died anywhere else in this game :P

  • @sowrongitsright05 Ok, thx ;)

  • Is it unusual if i find this video entertaining? Dont be mean

  • @zeldarules8 nope, I listen to it while I write essays lol, it's freaking awesome

  • i hated this place, and i did walk out the first time

  • The temple was scarier than the boss.

  • i dunno........ the forest temple music is way creepier

  • @zorafan580 The forest temple overall is a lot creeper than the shadow temple (in both music and visuals), but Bongo Bongo is a mindfuck.

  • @zorafan580 Finally, someone who agrees!

I find Shadow Temple is actually pretty catchy rather than scary. It sounds more like an ancient culture celebrating a blood sacrifice in a dark ritual, as opposed to Forest Temple's "tormenting" feeling full of laughing and ominous sounds like you're being watched by the poe sisters.

  • @Lishy1 yeah. i also noticed the laughing sound a little like dark link. the forest temple sould have won the award for most unsettling atmosphere

  • Lol I was only afraid of the music and the Dead Hand so yeah everytime I'd go and complete this temple I'd turn the volume all the way down Now it's just relaxing lol

  • Well, time to break out the N64 again...

  • Stupid Redeads....

  • this song and the forst temple's song were the scariest, I remember I used to go in and out only cuz I didn't want to go any deeper in this temple :P

  • I might be able to stand being in a dark room with this music on, but screw walking around the damn shadow temple with it!!!

  • WHOOOOOOOSH

    *back to the beginning*

  • the Shadow Temple...that place gave me nightmares...

  • Just beat this the other day. XD

  • O_O This music was the creepiest thing EVER! Whenever I was in this temple I always felt like a hand monster was going to drop at any second and do who knows what!? >.<

    *shivers*

  • Shigeru Miyamoto is a genius.

  • I remember when I was like 11-12, going into this Temple and keeping Link there, and I'd just sit in my room with the lights off with a glass of fruit punch that I'd pretend was blood and just pretend I was some evil demon lord.

    Yep...no life. lol

  • I don't know what you guys are talking about but this temple was bomb in tell the 4 corner room near were the boss key layed...also boss is cake

  • @Misterbubblesno if the boss is cake why does he look ugly?

  • @Music381197 I ment he is really easy

  • I hate this temple.

  • This song reminds me of if I ever visit the bad parts of Detriot.

  • that mini boss was something u would find in silent hill, arms from the ground grabbing you? weird creature with a white body possibly covered in blood with a long neck and creepy ass face?? damn

  • man i love the shadow temple

  • Anyone else get really far into this temple without the lens of truth? lol

  • @01984lockyer I beat it... as a Child Link! But then the game crashes once beat Bongo Bongo, with the Kokiri Sword and no Lens of Truth, he was actually a challenge!

  • @MasterKorinSama nice lol haha

  • @MasterKorinSama Wait, how is it even possible to get in the temple as Adult Link?

  • @LoZWWisawesome You mean getting into the Adult Temples as Child Link, I used the Levatation cheat to get in past the pit and the other pit just a bit further down, but I didn't use it for anything other than that.

You can also make it about 80% through the Forest Temple and 70% through the Fire Temple with Levatation, but you can't do anything in the Ice Cavern, your sword can't break the Freezos statues in the first room.

  • donwload please

  • i hate this temple

  • thats Bonga Bonga beating on this song?!! wow, thats awesome!! i can actually hear his moaning noises in the background when your fighting him!!

  • Half of the walls in here got fired for not doing their job. Link still went through them.

  • @Traumatization I actually thought some actual walls were the ones I could run through.

Link must have looked really stupid then.

  • they should make dark arrows! and you find them in the shadow temple!

  • i was always looking up because sometimes the theme would confuse me with the sounds that the those hands make. :P

  • I'M LIGHT ELEMENTED! GET ME THE FUCK OUTTA HERE!

  • Aside from the scary vibe the temple emits the music itself is strangely soothing.

  • You shouldnt have done that ...

  • My reaction when I first played as a kid

    *controller shakinging in my hands*

"Whoa, the place is scary. Okay, just careful... slow, don't want to get eaten by a ReDead... nothing over here... uhh, is there a door over there - "

*Link gets hit with poltergheist pot*

    "AAHHH!"

    *turns off N64*

  • *Hears beats in background* "Whoa!Nice beats whoever you are making them"

*Finds Bongo Bongo* "Oh you're the one making those beats.Sorry, but your musical career is over."

  • This is my reaction to the Shadow Temple:

Me: Aw, no sweat. Great music, kinda creepy though, nothing can go wrong, right?

Me 1 hour later: This damned place is scary....Q^Q I don't want to play anymore.

  • @KyuRisa i find it interesting how many are afraid of this, i absolutely love it its my very favorite from this game

  • interstingly enough i really liked it as a kid my sister craped herself though

  • @abominus566 Must have been a real mess to clean up.

  • I heard kid gamers always peed there pants listening to this song

  • Press 5 7 and 3 and it sounds like, OMG

  • This is quite easy just youse suns song and keep using the jump attack

  • Play the Song of Storms and then immediately use the Lense of Truth and Bingo! Infinite use!

  • i hate when you walk and see a shadow near youre feet and think oh crap here it comes again

  • .....can anyone else hear the moans of redeads?

  • @halfwolf66 oh god yes, and i can't get them out of my head!

  • The first few times I played, I didn't realize why a lot of people were scared by Bongo Bongo. It was just a legit beast.

Then I played in the 3d version, and realized what Bongo Bongo really was.

  • @Chamchir9482 It's even scarier thinking about how it was technically still down in the well when you go to get the L.O.T. And he's the one playing the drums in the music.

  • @hungryhungrymetroid

Yeah. I realized that too. I've seen a million LPs, READ a million LPs, and read wikis and databases, and not one has mentioned that Bongo Bongo is somewhere in the well when you're a kid.

My first playthroughs, I was lucky enough to not realize it, and afterwards, I knew he wouldn't ambush me, so the thought never scared me. Seriously, that's a huge plot hole. Why the heck is there a whole mini-dungeon, and you don't see Bongo Bongo once in it if he was sealed in?

  • @Chamchir9482 My thoughts are that Bongo Bongo was originally in the well. He turned himself into a shadow, then escaped the well and went to the Shadow Temple. He would have been creating the same sounds in the well as in the Shadow Temple, and when he left, all that remained was the world he had created, and his music. That's why the music in the Shadow Temple and the well are the same.

  • @Chamchir9482 Sorry, I forgot to add that that is also why Bongo Bongo isn't seen in the well.

  • @ThornHailsnap

Wait, what is why he isn't seen in the well?

  • @Chamchir9482 As I already said, he turned himself into a shadow, then escaped the well and went to the Shadow Temple.

  • ive beatin this game like 56 times and the forest and shadow temple always scare still im 13 i started wen i was 7 O_o i watch my bro play it i was scared for weeks :(

  • What's funny is this dungeon is really quite easy. The psychological aspect is much more difficult to conquer than the dungeon itself. Unless of course you missed the Lense of Truth.

  • Starting at 00:54 you can hear the deep breathing of Bongo Bongo from deep within the dungeon...

  • The shadow temple: Scariest thing I have ever accomplished in Zelda. It has the a atmosphere that intimidates and makes you think that your probably gonna die in the next five seconds. For first time players, this dungeon is not your friend. If your not ready for it it will eat your face.

  • @footmeetsface22 Yeah I agree. With all those sneaky traps that require LoT to see 'em and the Skulltulas that hang from the ceiling... it's a pain >_<

  • This temple wasn't too bad. Infact I liked it. (too easy boss though) I always feel chills going down my spine when I hear this song. I was 8 the first time I played through this temple, since then I've been terrified to death by it. (even though I've played through the game like 10-15 times now)

    Lovely!

  • The boss was way too easy. it took me like 20 seconds to beat on my second playthrough. :/ but this game is still amazing

  • This music just screams "this is exactly what the vacation brochure promised!"

  • When I first heard this, it was at my grandma's and my cousin was playing and he was about 14 and i was about 9. Ever seen a 9 year old hear this music? It ain't pretty.

  • Certainly my favourite temple. I finished it this morning on my 3DS. It's so spooky and you can't let you get fooled by anything. I had the Lens of Truth, so it wasn't hard at all. I'll try it without once. I like the music too, but it could've been a little bit better. It's very scary, and it fits perfectly.

  • Epic temple, only that triangle on the door ... it looks lil illuminati xD

  • *Link walks into the Shadow Temple*

    *Music starts to play*

    Link: Aw fuck dat.

    *Walks out*

  • @Vankpker034 *Trips with the purple coin thingy on his way out*

    Link: fuuuuuck yeah!!

Villager: how´d the beast looked like, my savior?

Link:....ummm, it was a one eye thing with a giant conga, kthnxbye.

And that is the true story of the Shadow Temple.

  • @Vankpker034 thats wat i did in the well the first time the music scared the shit outta me

  • when i was lil this place scared me and now im still afrid to play

  • This temple and the forest temple was the scary part of the game all the others were a walk in the park.

  • @Jonestimmyj1 Well the Watertemple was more like a kick into a cold river. xD

  • @BurnSchulz It was more like a watery hell.

  • .....i always thought the dead hand mini boss was a little to happy to see Link.....always laughing, trying to grab him and that very creepy smile

  • This scared the shit out of me... When I was really little kid I cried when the Redeads appeared and "Raped" me in Hyrule Town.

  • @BizarreProductions I don't think Link was terrified of the zombie when it screamed. It's said the scream is so loud and piercing that it momentarily paralyzes you because your eardrums are out of commision.

  • actually when i first heard this song i thougt it wasnt that creepy, the forest temple was actually more scary

  • I'm 18 now... I will STILL get nightmares from this place/under the well... Scary as HELL.

  • Link: Hum de dum dum...

    Redead: Staaaare

    *screeeeeeeeeeeeam*

Me (at 8): Liiiiiiink, how can you possibly be afraid of that stupid-looking zombie? MOVE!!!

  • when i was playing this i was all Whoah dude im looking for a temple not the gates of hell!

  • :O In all honesty, I've never really have been afraid of this a much as I was afraid of the Water Temple xD

  • @SoundlyAwakeTonight Water Temple literally put my nerves at their limits

  • @cactusmilo918 they should of had this for the water temple theme

  • Not to many people I know realize this. but that's Bongo Bongo playing the drum throughout the entire song...

  • i always used to play this temple without the sound because it freaked me out so bad. i wish the redeads just danced like they do in mm wen u have a scary mask on

  • Redeads (those brown zombies) freaked me out so bad when I was younger. I was so damn scared in the well:p This temple made it worse. THOSE MOANS, ARGH

  • Murr

  • I hated that place soooooooooooo much! the song made it more scary but none the less I like the song

  • I think nintendo should stop with all the family safe shit. I think they should make games where people didnt care about graphics. all about gameplay and the story. Now it's all about how cool it looks... I loved this game so much.. I played through it so many times...

  • This always gave me the shivers..

this is my 2nd favorite temple after the fire one.

  • Whenever I do this temple, I skip out on getting multiple things just so I don't run into Wall Masters or Floor Masters lmao! I love fighting Bongo Bongo, but those hands falling from the ceiling? No thank you, lol. And I'm always freaking out, checking my shadow! XD! Love Zelda, but that has to be the scariest/creepiest dungeons/enemies on the game.. but I still love it. ;)
