No. T4 ruined T1, T2, TSCC, AND T3. With its G-rated action, lack of plasma guns, skulls, desperation, and darkness. It also butchered the whole story continuity due to John Connor's sudden attitude change. Connor also was a prisoner inside a Skynet camp after J-Day. He escapes with Kyle and starts the Resistance. He always was is the leader, T4 set that back from T3's ending. No fate but what we make isn't always true, they couldn't stop J-Day and it has to have happened anyway.

Take Derek in SCC, in the future he met Andy Goode, the man who created Skynet, so he went back in time and killed him. How could he be dead if he met him in the future and if so wouldn't Derek no longer exist? That's because Derek's existence wasn't changed but the future he came from was changed. I feel the same way. T4 wasn't necessarily bad in my opinion, but it definitely did not have the same post-apocalyptic feel that T1 and T2 had. Where were all the bleached skulls that were supposed to be lying around on the ground? Where were all the starving refugees and people huddled in bunkers?
TSCC managed to replicate a good deal of that on a limited TV budget. Here, it's dark and you can see bones and skulls lying all over the place.

The explaination to why there are no laser guns in terminator salvation is because it's 2018 and not 2029 yet. Skynet hasn't become that advanced. Another explaination is that it is not the future his mother warned him about, it is another.
@luisalexander70 Well doesn't it make sense? Johns father came from the future, so John was born in the 80s or so, went t the future, and kyle was born in the earlier 2000s. John was already 20-30 by the time Kyle was born, and about 20-30 years futher, John is probably 40-60, and kyle is about 30, kyle goes back to the 80s and impregnates the mother.
I really liked how a TV show was able to bring that same desperate, "humanity is on the brink" feel that was present from the flashbacks in the first 2 movies.
This scene is very impressive for a TV budget. They've accomplished so much on this show that it would be such a shame if it doesn't get a third season.

ok, here's what i don't understand. in the original terminator the resistance soldiers all dressed differently, like they got there gear used. in terminator 2 the resistance soldiers are all dressed in the same dorky grey/black fatigues. now they're back to the assorted gear. which is it?

How many episodes have you seen? I love the tv series. It's about faith, love, learning from one's mistakes in the past. It shows people fight an enemy created by the imaginations of a people's darkest desire- to be God. An enemy that doesn't sleep, eat, knows no fear, and cant be reasoned with. That's a terrible enemy and a show worth watching.
Yeah, T3 was terrible. The writers didn't even do any research. There were so many mistakes. It was almost like they took a non-canon fanfic and turned it into a film and slapped the franchise title on it!

They werent sent back to do their own thing. They were to prepare for Sarahs arrival. They were suppose to gather intel on their enemy and gather supplies. Instead they got more aggressive and wanted to find out who exactly was running skynet, and not merely the components or projects that were to become skynet. Judgement Day is inevitable, John Connor's hope was that Sarah and his best soldiers would fight while everyone else is running. That they'd attack when everyone else is on the defense.
Instead of the four resistence fighters, Cameron, and Sarah raising John on how to kick some metal ass the resistance fighters saw a chance to save the world from annihilation. They took the chance and died due to one mistake. Luckily Derek is still around, the plan isn't a total failure b/c John and Sarah arent alone in their crusade anymore. If I were fighting an uphill battle I would simply be glad that I wasnt alone in it and not cry about the mistakes but learn from them.
The real battle is internal, afterall the mind has been called the Devil's playground. Who can learn the quickest from their mistakes? I believe humans will, only time will tell.

The explaination to why there are no laser guns in terminator salvation is because it's 2018 and not 2029 yet. Skynet hasn't become that advanced. Another explaination is that it is not the future his mother warned him about, it is another.

@luisalexander70 Well doesn't it make sense? Johns father came from the future, so John was born in the 80s or so, went t the future, and kyle was born in the earlier 2000s. John was already 20-30 by the time Kyle was born, and about 20-30 years futher, John is probably 40-60, and kyle is about 30, kyle goes back to the 80s and impregnates the mother.

The flashbacks here are taking place just before Kyle was sent back in time, 2027, while Salvation took place in 2018.

Tech-Com gathers supplies and troops from South America and Australia, the early scripts of the future war descirbe the radio chatter to be spanish, american and english.

ok, here's what i don't understand. in the original terminator the resistance soldiers all dressed differently, like they got there gear used. in terminator 2 the resistance soldiers are all dressed in the same dorky grey/black fatigues. now they're back to the assorted gear. which is it?

actually your completely wrong lol! in T1 and T2 they wear the same uniforms(you need to watch closely) its just that different ranks wear different uniforms. in T3, T4 and this show, the uniforms are completely different(wrong in other words) T1 and T2 were exactly the same!

Man you should have uploaded what happens next!! Also I found a plot hole/problem with the Terminator series: If nothing dead goes through time displacement, then hair and nails shouldn't be present because those are made of dead cells.

How many episodes have you seen? I love the tv series. It's about faith, love, learning from one's mistakes in the past. It shows people fight an enemy created by the imaginations of a people's darkest desire- to be God. An enemy that doesn't sleep, eat, knows no fear, and cant be reasoned with. That's a terrible enemy and a show worth watching.

Yeah, T3 was terrible. The writers didn't even do any research. There were so many mistakes. It was almost like they took a non-canon fanfic and turned it into a film and slapped the franchise title on it!
I consider myself a Cameron loyalist, but I must say I'm really enjoying the show. I think season 2 starts in the Fall.

I think Norman Reedus from blade 2 should of played connor insted of Nick Stahl.he looks alittle bit like furlong and he would of been a better replacement. Also, I know linda didnt want to make a come back to the series but they should of ask her twin sister Leslie Hamilton Gearren that was linda double in T2. that would of been cool.

You can tell by the way that they keep naming characters in the show for people involved in the original films (Cameron, Ellison, Billy Wisher) that they really respect the masterpieces that were the first two films. T3, however, shit all over them to make some money. It's nothing more than a special effects flick.

They werent sent back to do their own thing. They were to prepare for Sarahs arrival. They were suppose to gather intel on their enemy and gather supplies. Instead they got more aggressive and wanted to find out who exactly was running skynet, and not merely the components or projects that were to become skynet. Judgement Day is inevitable, John Connor's hope was that Sarah and his best soldiers would fight while everyone else is running. That they'd attack when everyone else is on the defense.

Instead of the four resistence fighters, Cameron, and Sarah raising John on how to kick some metal ass the resistance fighters saw a chance to save the world from annihilation. They took the chance and died due to one mistake. Luckily Derek is still around, the plan isn't a total failure b/c John and Sarah arent alone in their crusade anymore. If I were fighting an uphill battle I would simply be glad that I wasnt alone in it and not cry about the mistakes but learn from them.
