The song is about Claudio and group going into The House Atlantic (Wilhelm Ryan's stronghold) and first meeting Al The Killer (which is why its in the whole Camper suite thing on the album).
The scene however, looks to be Coheed and Cambria running from Al the Killer (which itself is odd, as both C/C were dead before IKSoSE.) and ends showing Monstar Cambria and the White Ruineer, as well as the Kilgannons before SSTB.

Don't get to worked up about the literal representation. This video seems to be nothing more than a few concepts, thoughts and theories regarding the story to complement the songs intial theme.

You misunderstood Claudio's statement about it... the video in the 80's club is the "official" video... in that it is the video they support and prefer. This video was made with the band's input, by professionals and it was paid for by their record label. In the end, the band decided they would rather go with the live action video

Coheed here succumbs to the triggering of the Monstar virus ( 2:55 ). In the end, he like expoldes, destroying Sector 12 of the Keywork.

My interpretation of the song is Al is giving up Claudio and Ambilina after they have hitch a ride on the Velorium Camper to House Atlantic, in a last second change of heart Al decides against turning them over because of his love of Ambelina. He then brings out his beloved sniper rifile and picks people off while they try to make a run for it. He's pretty much giving a last will in telling goodbye and that he wil be dead soon. Hince "bye bye beautiful don't bother to write". That just me...
According to the guy who posted this video, when Claudio was giving the people at Sony who created this video ideas, the black guy is a Al The Killer/Mayo Deftinwolf hybrid, and the guy and girl is supposedly Coheed and Cambria, not Claudio and Ambellina or Newo and the story was supposed to be totally based off of the few details Claudio gave them. But that is IF Coheed and Cambria was involved with this video. Obviously, this is all theory until we have actual proof.

This doesnt really follow the story. its about Al The Killer Saving Claudio and Ambellina from House Atlantic after delivering them there. Al loves Ambellina and she dosent so he takes them there to be killed. But in the end Al realizes that even though she doesnt love him he will save them with his sniper rifle Faint of Hearts. "here i'll shoot you run" is him protecting them. "bye bye beautiful" is Al's assumed death at the hands of the Tri-Mage William Ryan.
not sure what al looks like but the gunner looked like mayo deftinwolf. And i think the two in the video are coheed and cambria because Ambellina is blue and at the ending the girl is pregnant. Claudio of course doesnt have any kids. Co&Ca have 4 however matthew and maria are twins so that poses even more speculation since there are 3 kids shown already.

good question... the video was never meant to be a linear retelling of the story. FYI, they hadn't put out the comics yet when we made the video... Claudio had shown us artwork of the Prise, and Mayo, and a few other characters; so we could incorporate some of those visuals - but the idea for the video was that there was perhaps a feature cartoon out there... and we just pulled clips to make a video... and by doing the "mind erase/dream scene" - the band felt continutiy wouldn't be an issue...

That works for me;)... actually, we'd initially animated the video with him playing the Explorer... then changed it at the last minute after seeing him do a couple shows with the V..

The dragonfly is the symbol of heroine.
His dad abused heroine, his mom did everything to hide it from Claudio.
The feud between his dad and mom birthed the characters Coheed and Cambria.
Claudio finds out and becomes 'The crowing', a child in sudden realization of darker truths.
So he learns from this, and his whole world is destroyed.

Yeah, this isn't an OFFICIAL video. It's just a fan video. Claudio even mentioned that it was just a fan vid before. If someone comes back and whines about wikipedia saying different, I'm going to go over there and edit it. That's why you can't use wikipedia as a reference in any discussion.

@Radb707 sorry... you are way off base here. I agree wikipedia isn't the greatest reference, so easy mistake... but neither is some random band fan on youtube. You misunderstood Claudio's statement about it... the video in the 80's club is the "official" video... in that it is the video they support and prefer. This video was made with the band's input, by professionals and it was paid for by their record label. In the end, the band decided they would rather go with the live action video

@a3on That's the "story" but there was a huge discussion about it on the Cobalt and Calcium boards a while back and there's a general consensus among all the fans there that it's really just a fan video.

@udanax8, no. acrb01's interpretation is for the song, not the video. the video's about coheed and cambria. that guy chasing them is Mayo Def. see they even have the dragonfly thing in the opening, which in the novel, was used to sting coheed and implant in him the "activation" or trigger to the monstar virus. i swear, that video's meant for hearshot kid disaster

Yeh thats the thing about Coheed and Cambria. I think they try to keep the Story a lil mysterious so u HAVE to look it up and get into it.
But i think your interpertation is about as close as i see it. Since the Mayo def has The Al Sniper rifle Imagery, And Cambria grows wings, wish Is an allusion to Ambelina
As far as the Story tho this Album was written after the whole Coheed Blows shit up thing happened..... if that answers neones questions... lmao

I have to go with acrb's interpretation. I think tHE dude is Al the Killer, and it looks like the girl transforms into a Prise in the middle of the video... The next comic really needs to come out now...

no. it's not about the teenage years of coheed and cambria. it's actually the part where they were captured by Mayo aboard the ship Gloria. Somehow they began to remember their REAL past and task. Coheed here succumbs to the triggering of the Monstar virus ( 2:55 ). In the end, he like expoldes, destroying Sector 12 of the Keywork.

My interpretation of the song is Al is giving up Claudio and Ambilina after they have hitch a ride on the Velorium Camper to House Atlantic, in a last second change of heart Al decides against turning them over because of his love of Ambelina. He then brings out his beloved sniper rifile and picks people off while they try to make a run for it. He's pretty much giving a last will in telling goodbye and that he wil be dead soon. Hince "bye bye beautiful don't bother to write". That just me...

According to the guy who posted this video, when Claudio was giving the people at Sony who created this video ideas, the black guy is a Al The Killer/Mayo Deftinwolf hybrid, and the guy and girl is supposedly Coheed and Cambria, not Claudio and Ambellina or Newo and the story was supposed to be totally based off of the few details Claudio gave them. But that is IF Coheed and Cambria was involved with this video. Obviously, this is all theory until we have actual proof.

Could this video still be about Claudio; after all, one of the theories about The Crowing is that its a modified version of the Monstar virus... and the transformation seen here doesn't look like the Monstar... I don't think so, I'm just throwing it out there for thought

This doesnt really follow the story. its about Al The Killer Saving Claudio and Ambellina from House Atlantic after delivering them there. Al loves Ambellina and she dosent so he takes them there to be killed. But in the end Al realizes that even though she doesnt love him he will save them with his sniper rifle Faint of Hearts. "here i'll shoot you run" is him protecting them. "bye bye beautiful" is Al's assumed death at the hands of the Tri-Mage William Ryan.

not sure what al looks like but the gunner looked like mayo deftinwolf. And i think the two in the video are coheed and cambria because Ambellina is blue and at the ending the girl is pregnant. Claudio of course doesnt have any kids. Co&Ca have 4 however matthew and maria are twins so that poses even more speculation since there are 3 kids shown already.

and it's speculated that claudio gets a girl pregnant.

good question... the video was never meant to be a linear retelling of the story. FYI, they hadn't put out the comics yet when we made the video... Claudio had shown us artwork of the Prise, and Mayo, and a few other characters; so we could incorporate some of those visuals - but the idea for the video was that there was perhaps a feature cartoon out there... and we just pulled clips to make a video... and by doing the "mind erase/dream scene" - the band felt continutiy wouldn't be an issue...
