  • donna murphy + carol burnett = best versions

  • @SingSumKun - Oh, so true, SingSum. Preach, friend.

  • @SingSumKun Jan's performance was quite amazing. I do love theses two as well. I love the sardonic nature.

  • No way - Phyllis would never sound like that, trying to be funny. The lyrics were at times funny, but Phyllis wouldn't be delivering them that way.

  • Donna Murphy's rendition is more powerful and emotional

  • @karlwu Much agreed but i do like this version :)

  • Carol. CAROL. You are BRILLIANT. I adore and admire you so much. Oh my God. You are incredible.

  • I love how her voice is low. A lot of stars have really high voices but she makes me think I could actually make it on the West End :D

  • I. LOVE. Carol. Burnett! :D

  • Damn...she's the queen of comedy, the queen of sarcasm, even occasionally the queen of England...Could we just name her queen of the world already? I LOVE HER!!!!!!

  • Absolutely A Fantastic performance from carol Burnett...she never fail to entertain & amuse...this is flat out wonderful !

  • Hmmm. Almost too brliliant. Where could any singer portraying Phyllis go from there?

  • @Mapman923 One word: Alexis!

  • CAROL... Y LOVE YOU!!!

  • the lady never met a lyric or line she couldn't make into something either hysterical, sarcastic or ironic.

  • I have heard this number dozens of time yet her version is so stinging and exacting. What a delivery.

  • Carol IS so great! I also dearly love Dee Hoty's rendition. Both are so powerful and yet different; proving the point that it is an actors unique self that they must bring to a performance to make it believable, honest & unforgettable.

  • Good points. I still have a hard time watching Burnett ever since she had all that cosmetic surgery...especially the fake chin that pulled her smile to one side...

    I know, trivial. But distracting.

  • Fabulous performance - although the bending of the tempi was a bit extreme. Wonderfully acted, giving every dig of the lyric its proper zing. She's playing the boozy/funny character in this review, 'Putting It Together', rather than the non-drunk, cold Phyllis of 'Follies'....but I still love it.

  • were can I buy this DVD???

    I´m from Germany!!

    I just love Carol

  • The DVD is available from a number of U.S. online sites such as Amazon. It is a "Region 1" DVD (US and Canada), which means that Europeans will need special region-free DVD players. However, it should play on most PC DVD players worldwide without a problem.

  • God Carol is brilliant, so sarcastic lol but so emotional as well...Love this video, thanks for posting! Will you eventually get all the songs on here? :)

  • Thank you thank you for putting this clip on youtube. This is my favorite performance of this song. Only Carol can deliver this song with the perfect emotion.

  • No one can deliver this song like Carol can. The snide tones are perfect!

  • @charlotteycheng Carol is great no doubt about that but you haven't seen Donna Murphy do it. then you will see a Phillis.

  • @jam90jaay yep i saw her in a tv show called greatest performances it was amazing....

  • @jam90jaay - Ah but you didn't see Alexis Smith - a staggering performance. I am so fortunate (and to have seen Yvonne de Carlo sing I'm Still Here....twice!)

  • @charlotteycheng shut up sucker

  • Hi Great video Bronson Pinchot is the best of the musical i like to watch him sing

  • She's sensational. It wasn't until near the very end of the video that I realised she played Ms. Hannigan.
