  • josh reads!

  • What bothers me the most about this is that Greg Evans is a cartoonist, so why is he pulling random images from the internet and not drawing these things himself? Also why is there a mixture of photos and drawings? Even if he didn't make this video himself we know he had to have been involved in it someway, I'd think he'd have more pride in his drawing skills...

  • 1:03 is my face upon listening to a minute of this song.

  • I thought I could make it through the day without looking at a gargantuan dog cock. How wrong I was,Greg Evans

  • @funwithphobias 1:17 is Greg Evan's face ever time he fantasizes about dog cock

  • That lisp or whatever it is makes my ears want to turn inside-out.

  • @Stopmotionist That 'music' or whatever it is does the same to me.

  • How does the Mozarts Requim have ten million views and this has only 80,000??

  • Move over songwriters in Ark Music Factory (wrote Rebecca Black's "Friday"). You've got competition.

  • Corina Rose, you can't sing. Sorry but that's the truth. And all the haters who say the strip sucks, go read another strip where every one has no relation to the previous strip. Others have themes, Luann has a story and character development. Duh!

  • This is so catchy! It should be a top ten hit!

  • Why would he show a picture of Aaron Hill when she's saying "you're not my type?"

  • Upon hearing this song, the boy promptly got away

  • Nice use of the GT-R for the race car. Makes me wonder if Greg visits any of the Nissan forums out there.

  • Luann is going to die alone...

  • Greg Evans is painfully oblivious to the realities of teenagers. This song...painful.

  • Yeah, not classic music by any stretch, but fun enough as part of the comic strip.

  • Do you get it yet, Gunther? She's not into you. Stop being a creep already.

  • @TripleZ89 I assure you that regardless of what it's "SUPPOSED" to be, it sucks.

  • This song sucked massive cock.. Then again the cartoon sucks as bad too. DISLIKE!

  • @duckster313 obviously i did stop reading it!

  • @duckster313 Comics Curmudgeon.

  • @celticthistle619 Curmudgeon? You best recheck your definitions. I really enjoy the comic strip. It's not supposed to be about the "realities" of teenagers per'se, it touches on them alright, but tries to keep things in a somewhat more innocent context so that people of all ages can enjoy it. But also, the "realities" of teenagers aren't exactly like yours, or those where you live. Kids still exist that aren't completely self-absorbed or hating everything they don't deign cool.

  • @duckster313 "Comic's Curmudgeon" is a blog that comments on various daily strips.- you should check it out, it's quite awesome. :) it's at joshreads dotcom.

  • @duckster313 Er. "comics curmudgeon", even... derp.

  • Cool song!

  • Accidentally opened this in six tabs at once. It wasn't as much worse as it should have been.

  • @commodoremikel The horribleness is approximated by D(1-e^(-n)) where D is your maximum disgust and n is the number of simultaneous plays.

  • beribreeze is spot on in saying that this sideline of the Luann strip can only nudge someone with any speck of intelligence to totally drop the strip from their reading.

This is embarrassingly puerile and hopelessly awful.

  • This is pretty damn pathetic

  • this and i'm a snot completely ruined my take on luann.

  • After I heard this song I put my head in a blender to stop the pain

  • Well....

At least it's better than 'Friday'.

  • Totally Agree

  • Honestly I love Luann I read them everyday! This is song is okay on a scale of 1-10 it would be a 6 but I'm a snot stinks!! on a scale of 1-10 for im a snot it would be a 0!

  • @TeDragon13 i totally agree.

  • HONESTLY (and plz dont make fun of me cuz im a diff. gal) i think this is way better then 'im a snot' much better tune but again the pics are very disturbing. i'd rather see the real singer sing it than these pics. bt well its my opinion

  • Appropriate for a 16 year old's attempt for sure. Hey, Greg, if you want her to meet a guitarist, I can offer some studio guitar work for free.

  • Comment removed

  • I love Luann and am so happy that I can listen to her weird songs... So stop hating, it's not supposed to sound professional!

  • @eleanor1283 I think you are SUPPOSED to hate it... That's part of the fun! :)

  • jesus....

  • i dont know if i compleatly love it or hate it...im gonna go with the second option...

  • i agree with lagerciderlager. btw nice name, lagerciderlager

  • i totally recognize that beat from garageband

  • I love that Greg created real videos on YouTube for his fictional character in his comic strip! To me, it's pretty realistic as far as what you'd expect from someone like Luann if she were a real teenager. I'm pretty sure he wasn't hoping for either of "Luann's" videos to become a real hit...he just wanted to give people a little laugh. :o)

  • Give a girl a break. Greg just wants to have fun and imagine what Luann would sing about in this age of public and extreme nakedness (not in a sexual way).

Granted, it's not radio material, but let the man have his fun. It's still better than Justin "I'm so cute" Bieber !

  • Greg Evans is now worse then the guy that does Marmaduke.

  • @bartov That's still a step up from the guy who does Family Circus. I swear, that Bil Keane got rich doing that is a crime--a crime!

  • @pinksquare Bil Keane at least gets a kick out of it when other cartoonist like Pastis mock him so he is alright in my book. I imagine people mocking what Greg Evan's thought was a legitimate pop song eats him up inside and his only comfort is his notebook of erotic Luann sketches.

  • No way is that a teenage girl singing.

I gotta say, the lyrics aren't too good.

Why not get a teenage girl who's modestly trained???

  • Greg Evans is a good cartoonist. Yeah...

  • Comment removed

  • Oh man, this is SO bad. Worse even than the strip itself. And now, I see, the Feather and Loo-an are making ANOTHER one, a rap tune called "I'm a snot". My ears! Arrrrrrgh.

  • please stop hating on the song. i know it is not the best song ever but it is better than friday

  • it ok...

  • Why does she sound asian?

  • Okay. You and Quill are at it again. (Please for the love of all that is musical, try a little harder to be good this time. No, they A LOT harder.) Get some help. Hire a ringer. But don't make those thousand thumbs down a reality.

Get a wicked beat and a good theme and stick to it. And not all major chords. That makes you sound like elevator music. And for the love of Pete, no more moon in June rhymes! Doesn't your school have a music teacher?!?!?

  • People actually like Luann ? I bet these are the people that wrote angry letters about the Holy Trinity of the Funny Pages -Bloom County, The Far Side, and Calvin and Hobbes.

  • @bartov I've only heard of Calvin and Hobbes(never read it actually), and I've never heard of those other two.

  • @bartov I love Luann and I ALSO love Bloom County and ESPECIALLY Calvin and Hobbes and EVEN MORE SO, The Far Side. There are some well rounded people out there. We DO exist... somewhere.

  • Important reminder: this is, in fact, the worst thing.

  • I don't think this was supposed to be Grammy Award winning guys, it was just, like a joke,

And quit hating the comic, some people like/love it, like me. Haters.

  • @SamND1967 Quit loving the comic, some people dislike/hate it, like me. Lovers.

  • @BeerOnTheSun Ha-ha, good one.

  • use autotune!

  • Wow so many naysayers. It's supposed to be made in the mind of high-schoolers, and that's what it is. Nail on the head.

  • Painful :-(

  • The song is so so, the singing is terrible. I agree, a better voice would have

    enhanced the song.

  • This is like... early Rebecca Black quality!

  • I don't understand why so many people dislike this song. It's really good- and so is the comic!

  • you people are so harsh ,, its supposed to be a 16 yo girl who has no professional talent ,.. how many of you can even sing on key ..so stfu

  • i heard that...

  • the song itself isnt that bad but the vocals just kills it. if someone with talent voiced luann in this song, it would improve DRAMATICALLY!

  • I never pictured Luann sounding like that :/

  • I am really in love with Luanne I cant wait each day for my paper to come. I guess i,m nuts but I love all the girls in the strip.

  • The song isn't bad, it's the unedited britney spears. XD However; it's suppose to be an immature 16yr old girl. If she was real.

  • Luann just finished a musical. This song is in line with that. I thought it was going to be much more like Skatr Boi ... pop. (shrugs) It's great. I think the comic can truly see what is going on in Teenage girl's mind!!! It's almost eerie! Very talented! There are fans! They are just not commenting today.

  • with everyone making a big deal about luann's voice, i was kind of expecting an alexz johnson-type voice. well, that's how i'll keep imagining her voice. whatever about this song

  • @AnElmandAnOak, that's why I read Luann as well. For years I've also read Family Circus, Marmaduk, Cathy, etc., just to see how bad they were.

  • I'd like to see a male version of the song.

I'd like to hear about a boy giving his girl her walkin' papers.

    I'm all for Equal Time!

  • I read Luann daily, just to experience how completely unhip and naive Greg Evans' take on teenage life is. How did Corina Rose (who apparently did the vocals) manage to get through a single take without cracking up at the utter stupidity of the lyrics and music?

  • @CodyRicheson It doesn't help that the characters aren't very likable anymore.

  • @CodyRicheson she probably did crack-up at first then after she sang it....... lol

  • @CodyRicheson funny sincee he is so unhip and naive about teenage life yet his "Luann" comic strip has been around as for over 20 yrs!

  • @sheymom, you do realize that extremely lame phenomena can still be popular, right? Just look at "2 and Half Men," "American Idol," Lady Gaga, the Smurfs, Garfield, the FOX Network, "The Cleveland Show," Katy Perry, "Jersey Shore," etc.

  • i love the comic strip still but the song is kinda bad! no offense but i was excpecting more!

  • His age has nothing to do with it, people. If you're living in this era, you're free to use YouTube. The problem is that this song is shockingly horrific. And that is definitely not Luann's voice. Sorry Greg. I still love the comic.

  • I just want to say that all you small-minded people who are saying this is amateurish, out of touch, absurd, sorta creepy, poorly written, delusional, tin-eared, hard on the ears, ridiculous, embarrassing etc. are correct.

  • @lagerciderlager get back to the kitchen

  • TEE HEE

good thing you transcribed that part or i would have missed it

  • @MorroccoSurrogate Keep in mind most of them are underaged, and that the one he's most likely attracted to is more or less an avatar of his own daughter. Granted, he did give her up for adoption and just recently was reunited with her, but...that only makes it even more creepy.

  • This is exactly how I thought Luann & her song would sound! Very Cute!

  • I've been enjoying the Luann comic strip for years. I think it's pretty cool Mr Evans put this together for his readers.

  • Its childish the vocals sound like a pre-teen sang them the melody could be stronger and I cant get the infernal thing out of my head.

  • It's not quite Rammstein, but it'll do.

  • this absolutely sucks....

  • Wow! Its like I'm listening to an original pop song from a bad tv show!

  • AUGH!!! Saturday morning cartoon song! But would be fun for karokee

  • AUGH!!! Saturday morning cartoon song! But would be fun for karokee.

  • I actually like this song.

  • Now, I see why her dad has this song stuck in his head! :-)

Too many of ya'll critics out there need to lighten up a bit and relax, it is a comic from a person that just wants to make you laugh.

  • its all autotune... its what ruined music anyways

  • This was such a cute song and gave new real life appeal to Luann. I really love this comic strip. The singing aspect reminded me of The Archie's singing "Sugar". Keep up the good work, Greg!

  • @MugShroom I agree--I really don't like this song but it's clever and innovative for the strip to branch out onto Youtube, even if it kinda failed.

  • Nice!!! I LOVE it! XD *faves* great comic strip & great song! thanks for making it into an actual song!

  • ... is it weird that I like this?

i didnt think luann would sound like this but come on, it sounds pretty good to me.

  • the girl sounds old...they should have gotten a young girl to sing it..

  • Well, I did read somewhere that they got locals to sing for the cast of Luann, so yeah :/

  • It's all Quil's fault, lol :P

I have to agree with jode94 and sbbssbbs, though. And the video...

  • I love how everyone is talking about the characters as if they're real people.

  • @TheOdderOne That sounds like something a Tiffany fan would say!

  • @culwin I don't know who Tiffany is nor do I want to find out.

  • what's up with the watermelon truck?

  • please tell me this is a joke

  • @happinessruns2u

    of course it's a joke.

    it's for a comic strip!!!

  • Thank you Greg, I thought that it was a very cute song, and sung quite well. I look forward to more songs written by "Luann".

For some I guess reading a comic strip is like reading a book and then having a movie made based upon that book, everyone won't agree that the movie did the book justice.

    I think it did.

  • To me, there is nothing creepy about a 60 year old man writing a comic strip about a teenage girl.

I also think it's OK to think about your hot aunt when you're doing that thing you like to do when no one else is home.

  • Why is there a dog dong at 1:43?

  • @biztheinsane well the lyrics said sittin' there wantin' more...

  • @biztheinsane It totally took me out of the moment and put me in a WAY BETTER MOMENT!!!

  • To all those saying "oohhhhh, why are you criticizing it? It's just a silly song written by a cartoonist, it's not meant to be taken seriously"- It's still a bad song. Just because it was written by a cartoonist doesn't make it any better, and just because it's supposed to be written and sung by a teenage girl doesn't make it okay for it to not be good. I've heard several great songs written by teenagers, so don't try that excuse.

It's just weak songwriting. You wrote a bad song, Greg!

  • Comment removed

  • i thought it was a nice, catchy tune, and I love the strip

  • its funny... my dad would love me to sing this song lol

  • I hear FAR worse on the local Top 40 station every blessed day!!!!!

  • Very cute! I agree with Rainy1dae wholeheartedly!! Kudos to Greg. It is what I would expect from the 16 yr. old girl character....come on ya'll!! Think! It isn't supposed to be professional Christina Aguilara!! Sheeesh!

  • Wow, a there's quite a lot of flaming for this. Given it was written by a cartoonist not a professional musician, I think it's cute. That's not the Luann voice I have in my head, but who cares.

  • @shan3d More to the point, it's a cartoonist writing a song that 2 16 year olds are supposed to have written.

And it's not even supposed to be particularly good, even in that context...unless Luann's dad is just being a pill in the latest strip.

  • Tell me I didn't see dog weiner.

  • haha, this is a comic strip character, what do you people expect?!!! Luann is a silly kid, of course she should sing a silly song...why have you all expected a professional singer?? And if you all can do better, by all means, do it.... no one is stopping you.

  • Very cute song, seems to capture who Luann is. Sounds like something a 16-year old would sing. Greg Evans is very talented. Kudos!!! Well done!

  • Jeez..lighten up everyone! This is cute & amusing.....don't think it was meant to to give Lady GaGa any competition....

  • Jeez..lighten up everyone! This is cute & amusing.....don't think it was meant to to give Lady GaGa any competition....

  • A nice touch. I'm not sure why all these folks are so over-critical.

  • @pilotinfla Most of the 'critical' folks are people who have not uploaded anything themselves. I think the song is very catchy, cute, and better than anything the 'critics' could write. And pop is not really my favorite thing. We're on the same page. Greg should keep on doing music as well. He's talented in both!

  • @ManOfRhythm How does the fact that some people haven't uploaded anything affect their ability to have a qualified opinion? I may not be a director, but I can still tell you whether a movie sucked or not. I'm not a chef, but I still know when food tastes like crap. If I can't drive a car, am I unable to determine whether other people are bad drivers? Come on.

  • So, who else followed Josh's link?

  • uh...maybe greg evans should stick to just comic strips...

  • Some of these comments are hilarious. This is a 60 year old guy trying some new things with his 20 year old comic. Luann is never going to be hysterical but it's alright especially given it's age. He tries to keep it reasonable fresh. The art is better than most as well.

  • This song needs a better song.

  • I once heard a raccoon scream in pain after it was hit by a F-150. It was horrible, but much much better than this.

  • Wow, Miley Cyrus is better than this....

  • There's no way this singer could hit Maria's notes in West Side Story.

  • Watch out, Britney Spears!

  • pretty good!

  • It's... okay. Like others have said, I think Luann should have a lower speaking/singing voice. What caused you to hire Corina Rose (I Bing'd, not Googled, her) as Luann's voice? I wish more cartoonists would hire voice actors to do short one-shot animations of their strips for YouTube.

  • 1:06 to 1:08 is a list of printers from EPSON LOL

  • As someone who just sat through watching the Funky WInkerbean musical, this is Mozart in comparison.

  • This is going straight up the charts!!

  • Reminds me of my high school choir so I'd say it's right on!

  • eh....find a different singer...then well see id be curious 2 have p!nk sing it

  • I like it. The tune is pretty catchy. Deeper voice? She's a high school kid.

  • Uhmmm... no.

  • lol so cute! I love Luann!

  • Ouch, how did she get a lead in a musical?

I thought her voice would be deeper.
