More people were upset at the subtle message in the ad, that "Godless Americans", A.K.A. Secularists, are immoral. Why else would she POSSIBLY try this?

If anything, she LOST votes from the secular party. When I saw this, I raged inside at the sheer ignorance of the whole thing. It plays on buzzwords to sway votes. I agree that it's desperate and just plain stupid. To think that someone like that almost had a position of power here.

So according to Dole our government is only allowed to represent their constituents who believe in god. Is it only those who believe in a Christian god or are Jews and Muslims represented too? I'm an atheist but I don't hold my representatives beliefs against them. I do, however, pay attention when their words and actions don't live up to what they claim to believe.

Is it too much to ask that just one person recognize that meeting with atheists is not bad? Yes, Dole lied and that is bad, but she's also taking a not inconsiderable number of American citizens and saying that to even talk to us is a heinous crime. I'm not so sure politicians should be having a religious debate and I don't know if the Dole ad was too smart. But I think Hagan will use whatever she can to get ahead and that is a really poor choice by her to go out of her way to validate and approve that groups plans and behavior. She can let them have their freedom..but Hagan actively pumped up their cause by giving them the time of day.

If she wanted to attack Hagan's decision for taking money from atheists, the ad should have discussed Hagan's finances NOT her religion. Nothing was faked, the audio at the end is clearly the same as the audio heard in the middle of the ad.

The Dole campaign has admitted the voice that says 'There is no god' is not the voice of Hagan. However, by posting Hagan's pic during the voice-over, viewers are supposed to believe it is Hagan.

What would it matter? It gives an indication of what kind of judges Hagan would vote for in the Senate. That's the best reason I can think of for GODLESS to line her pockets with donations.

The ad was pointing out that Hagan was willing to travel a thousand miles out of her state to accept donations from GODLESS people. It indicates to voters that Kay has poor judgement, is out of step with NC voters and is likely to help appoint judges willing to make rulings favorable to GODLESS.

Think about this. There was a guy in a mental hostpital. He was committed for hearing voices. He talked to the voice and the voice told him what to do. Another man was in the hostpital for holding rituals where he would celebrate having spirits in his house. Another guy was in the hostpital because he went to the same building every weekend and screamed and cried.
