My guess is that desmond had already known about the flashsideways, ever since he started having those visions. notice how almost every person that died murmured something before they died, for example, juliet...

It makes sense that Eko's not there, though, because he was already at peace with himself when he died (as he says in his speech to the MiB posing as Yemi) so he doesn't need to be in the flash-sideways: he could move on right away.

I'm more disappointed that Michael's story was left unresolved.

There was so much music for the last season there were two different soundtracks, "The Final Season" and "The Last Episodes Soundtrack." The one you're looking for is called "Get Out of Jail Free Card" from the Last Episodes soundtrack.
