Heard this song for the first time on radio 2 yesterday morning on my way to work, fell in love straight away! What a tune! Im driving my missus mental cos i keep playing it.
I was in grade school when this album came out and I remember on one of those activity days where our music teacher had this album and she played it. This album was hot for there was a talent show that year in 1966 at the school and the 7th and 8th graders were singing songs that were hot at that time. They opened the show with the band kicking off one of the songs from this album and the drummer was kicking it. Ah the memories of my youth.
Same Intro and Melody as "Dancin in tha Street" Motown know they recycled their sound, lol, I thank them for it because "Artist" now don't really have an identity
This album by Stevie put him back on the map. After Stevie did fingertips, Motown wasn't sure what to do with Stevie. But, as with anything else, everything worked out, and the rest is history!! This track is one of my favorites from Stevie!!
This was a massive anthem at the King Mojo Soul Allniter club in Sheffield (UK) back in 1966. Still love the song and even managed to get it on a 7" single (it was included on a French Motown EP back in the day).
This is "Classic" Stevie Wonder! The "Uptight" alblum ranks among his best records and if you'll check out the entire alblum you'll understand why. Great post!
