Presonus USB Audiobox Interface Set-Up & Use Part 1

Hi, do you think that the PreSonus Audiobox is a worthwhile purchase?

I've been doing some research into audio interfaces and am yet to come to a conclusion!

your advice as someone who uses the product would be appreciated!

@BathRugbyPA If you do decide to purchase this item, I'd look at the 'Firewire' version because it is much faster and is said to eliminate latency drag issues. I haven't used it in ages so I couldn't endorse it with wisdom of experience but, it's been okay when I have but, I should have got a firewire version.

What if you were to connect the USB before inserting the installation software?

Hello dear Youtube friend. I just bought this unit. I'm having latency problems with my m-audio 49 controller. Would you happen to know how I can fix this?

You must be the right man for my problem. The drivers for the audiobox always get corupted and produce clipped sound after any reboot in my PC i have same setup as you have mixcraft 5 and studio one pro and and an audio box usb. Can you help me? I have to remove usb cable evrytime i reboot then the sound is ok but doing this evrytime is aheadache and may spoil the port.

@phalkek I'm sorry to tell 'ya but, that is exactly what I have to do every time! I think it maybe something to do with Mixcraft. The complexities and compatibilities can be a right pain. I'm gonna be getting rid of most of my music equipment and buying a iPad 2 running Garage Band. Lots of great reports on this. Need top spec iPad 2 though £630 ! If I can be of further help, just drop me a line.

Hey when you put head phones in.. And you are trying to sing. Can you hear your voice??? Cause i can hear my voice but i only want to hear the music... How do you make it so you can't hear your voice????

While you record the track can you hear the guitar distortion from the headphones ..or you apply it only once you have recorded it ?

Why do you have the mic in the instrument hole and the guitar in the mic hole? I have my mic in the mic hole is that why i cant record?

wat do I do if I put the black cd thing in but nothing auto runs? I go "my computer" and double click cd rom drive and nothing happens...PLEASE HELP I NEED TO KNOW ASAP!!!!

@nos0323 Try right clicking on 'My Computer' and selecting 'open'. Look for 'run' or 'programme' if a list of options appear. If you don't have any luck, let me know and I'll see if I can help further.

@nos0323 Alternatively, click on Start, find 'Control Panel', look for 'Programmes', look for 'Hardware & Sound', look for 'Play CDs & Other Media Automatically', check or select from the list that appears. You may have to scroll the page to reveal more.

If not, go back to Control Panel and look for 'Programs', click on that, see if it's giving options to install. (might be a list on the left of page)

@Topdoginuk didnt have any luck with the 'my computer' tip. and i tried everything you suggested :(

i am using windows vista though. i also tried clicking 'my computer' then there was no presonus title but it said "DVD RW Drive (E:)" and i clicked "open" and it said "prepare this blank disk" o_o

did i possibly get a defect? cause i bought it from a music store in my area so i dont know...

@nos0323 Sorry to hear you are having problems. Try another CD or DVD 1st to test ya drive is picking up. YIt may need a clean.

It sounds like it may be a dud DVDROM. I'd call Presonus for guidance & a replacement. Don't throw the disc just yet though, until it's shown that another disc proves it dud: presonus . com/technical-support/contact-­tech-support/

You can send 'em a email question or phone them.

I hope this may help. Frustrating I know but, worth a try as a last resort.

@evanz79 Sorry, I have stuck to using Mixcraft 5 DAW. Saving a song in One Studio should be easy though. Up at the top left there should be a option to save under the sub headings. There are videos on Youtube that may show you how. If I come across one I will sent it to 'ya. Good luck.

Hi, great suggestions, I have a question if you can help. I have this audio box usb as the one in your video great but... I am trying to use this with adobe audition and restoring vinyl records. The signal going into the computer is very strony on my dj mixer my inputs are set at low 5 upper 4 level and the signal is very strong and suggestions on how to lower the signal or is this the box I need? fromeo70@cogeco.ca and I have windows 7 64 bit. Please suggestion if you have an idea?

If you have Vista 64bit, you have to download the most recent updates in order for the Presonus to work properly.

@GQflydude Thanks for reply. It's great to know that the Studio One Artist DAW is good but, it failed to upload the loops for me so, although registered, it don't work 'cos not fully installed yet. Waiting for reply from Presonus to email.

I was hoping this was good enough for broadcast quality on a finished CD. You say it's for household use. Do 'ya mean it aint good enough?

I hope to do more videos but, work restricts my time and I'm trying to get into song creation to sell on itunes, etc.

@Topdoginuk I've found it sounds a very nice when I mic my Amp vs the direct input. It might just be more pleasing to "my ear" to have a cab mic-ed. I played around with a SM57 on different spots on my Marshall Class 5, found what I consider to be the "sweet spot".

Hope you can get your loops up and running, and I can't see why it wouldn't work for a broadcast quality. I do all my recording through SM57s, except for vocals, I use a SM58, and I get very little, if any background noise.
