The nomads aren't dead. They couldn't figure out a way to kill them, so they just banished the Nomads really far away, I haven't played it in yeeaaaarrs...but beat it like 4 times. One of the most memorable games in my life. I do hope there's a sequel, but I'm losing hope that there is...

I love this game, me and my buddy created a LAN server to do whatever in, and i got the "spyglass" battleship former property of Liberty Navy now in the hands of Lane Hackers i do beleve ... this thing is a leviathin compared to liberty dreds. Twice the size and firepower.. i can take 2 liberty dreds on no problem.
Yeha i think it's sad that some things wehre "deleted" scenes, ships etc. i ever hope that freelancer 2 comes but it never comes :'(. but X3 is very good now i hope that for this game comes a multiplayer mod. (sry i am german my englishis bad)
Hehehe, I just saw this and I'm surprised this got out. This was just an experiment with the cinematic tool. Trent didn't even have a design when this trailer was made. 90% of this trailer was done using the cinematic tool so it conveyed ground missions which the game didn't have. Takes me back.

The fact that you instantly thought that I was referring to combat in EVE proves that almost 90% of FR is just about combat - which is not a problem, but does not make it superior to EVE or X, just like it does not make Tarr Chronicles superior to it. The controls of FR can only be called good as far as you want easy but not realistic "baby-controls".
(Part 1 of my comment) I believe we could argue that which party is ignorant - the one that says FR is good for noobs but not hardcore, or the one which says very other game is sh it. Believe it or not, I played every spacesimulator and space based game starting from Elite - and that includes FR multi.
I was referring to EVE in an economical way: EVE has a good REAL economy, X has a great SIMULATED economy, whilst FR lacks in this.
i don't agree, i mean sure the X-universe series had a GREAT auto-piloit system(only thing besides the hyper drive that i liked) but the X-universe's fighting system 100% SUCKED!.....i mean serously....you couldn't do ANYTHING unless u had either A) 6+ ships working as side-men or B) a BATTLESHIP/CRUISER!
I have to disagree - X and X2 had a very bad dogfighting mechanism, true. But Freelancer made it all too easy. X3, on the other hand, has one of the best fighting systems. You don't need wingmen to do anything - I never had one, always fought with a fighter and still I didn't die for almost 3 years now.
X is superior in almost every aspect, expect that it wasn't meant for the masses.
Oh, and there aren't any bships or cruisers in X. So LoL ;)

@arkantoxic Sry, they cancelled freelancer 2 in 2007. It was comming out to xbox 360 only (stupid in my opinion) and the primary reason for canceling was because of control mapping problems. it looked awesome though. I would buy a xbox just to play, and i hate Xbox. I do believe though that Digital Anvil was rushed with freelancer, which is why they had to cut out a lot of stuff :( still good though

Actually there is a petition that requests the company to make sequel for this game, i've participated in it aswell. Last time i checked it wich was mooonths ago it had about 40,000 names.
i looked it up, freelancer was going to be the single most ambitious game EVER, but then the key person at digital anvil left the team and rest of them became part of Microsoft Games, that was when they started to strip features off the game, because microsoft supposedly wanted it to be "user friendly"
so we are waiting since 2005 for a new spacesim that rocks like freelancer (not eve)...
