I had a clear retainer it is lost has been for about a week I haven't been about to wear it for 3 weeks tho because I had my wisdom teeth taken out I cant get a new retainer up in Maine because I like in another state idk what to do I was really good with my retainer when I had it and I really dont want my teeth to move back I had an overbite and a gap.. please help..

My retainers have been okay but my teeth have moved slightly despite the fact I wear it all the time except to clean it so I'm a bit disappointed :/

@TheVideomaster1999 Well you need a retainer after whatever braces. Because your teeth will shift into a bad position if you don't wear one. My cousin didn't wear her retainers at all after and now she needs braces again

i haven't wore my retainer for awhile and one of my tooth shifted back, can they tighten my retainer so if shifts back?

@ricebunny0 hi, I had the same problem...if you can take the pain, put those babies back on at night and your teeth will be back to perfect in a couple nights.

@oniondumbz Depending on your pain tolerance and what you orthodontist does (rubber bands, spacers, power-chains, etc.), but for almost all people when you first get them your mouth is VERY sore and sensitive, when you get your braces tightened and get a new wire. Other-wise you're perfectly fine. In other words, yes they do :)

@oniondumbz only for a couple days after they get adjusted. or if you wear rubber bands it hurts a lot. other than that when your teeth aren't moving its fine

i got to retainers today i hate them my teeth are really sore sore and my gums are blleding abit from them and any thim i take them off to eat or clean my jaw hurts alot by the way i have two off them which connect from my top teeth to the bottom are these pains and stuff normal

@banana101ham dude i was like u before i got mine but when i got mine it was all great at first until they start rubbing and cuttingthe insides or ur cheeks, and its annoying cuz food gets in them i just got mine off this morning and im loving it!

@tiarralove08 Yes, I just got braces and my orthadontist gave me a blue retainer with 5 cases and my teeth r bad because i got surgery on my mouth when i was younger and it effected my teeth and they went outta line they were perfect and to get my teeth perfectly normal again. First, if you have bad teeth you need braces but REALLY REALLY bad teeth like mine you would have to retainer with your braces on (I only wear my retainer 2 hrs each day) and after braces you defiently need a retainer on.

@LoLoOoOoOo90 i know that after you get ur braces off its kinda manditory to have retainers until your teeth bone structure is used to being in the position because braces lose your teeth bone and move your teeth and then you wear retainers to maintain it or however it spells it depends on the person some people have it for 6 months some for 2 years and some for their whole life but probably only when they sleep

I had braces for two years and although teeth are pretty straight I still have an overbite. Unfortunately I got the clear retainers which DON'T do a thing to help me out with that. Would this retainer be a better fit?
