Dave you are amazing! I have an mitey mite fender precision neck i failed horribly! I only succeeded with putting on the logo. Can you help. Will you do the work can we talk.?
I'm thinking of creating my own bass for the next one I buy. I figured I can create a better bass than a Mexican Fender for around £100 less than in retail. How do I go about painting and finishing a body?
I have a 70,s P bass that I kept under the bed for 30 plus years except to dust off the case. Couldn,t bear to sell it but pulled it out of the case recently ,plugged the tuner in and did not have to touch a tuning peg. It was amazingly still in tune with those old rotosound round wound strings.Unbelievable!!. I guess you can say that a fender can stand the test of time.I will never get rid of this bass.
bad ass bro........................Peace

hi dave this might seem like a stupid question but why do some bass guitars have the thumb rest at the bottom of the pick guard.
daveyspider 3 days ago
@daveyspide finger rest or pull bar
early days some jazz players used their thumb not the fingers
davey4557 3 days ago
oh man, does that bass look mighty tasty!

@bbbward
that's a big job
buy stuff already finished unless you have all the stuff to spray with
spray bombs never work out
they cost as much as a spray gun
davey4557 1 month ago
@bbbward i built a guitar from scrtahc and youd need a sprayer in order to do it

I love the black/white look. Check out what has been under the bed for a while. Played for pay last in 1994

God, I'd love to make myself that bass, although I'd probably put a black pickguard on. What pickups did you use?

@lptomtom
Vintage Fender reissue :)
just like a '72 would have
davey4557 8 months ago
in the old days the front cover was an attempt at shielding
wiring in buildings an electronics in general were shitty way back
the back cover has a sponge mute for a more subtle tone
that's why most got rid of them
davey4557 9 months ago
Dude greatest guitar ever! Long live FENDER!

You've just convinced me to buy a P-bass!
I already have an Ibanez Sr 705 5-string, but i want to get to the basics of the bass.
Making it interesting with your kind of playing, not the special effects on the bass.
Nice video too man!
Thanks!

bolser619 1 year ago
@bolser619
Mounted in that position it's called a pull bar or finger rest. Early players rested their fingers on it and played with their thumb
