  • bad ass bro........................Peace

  • Looks great! Sounds great!

  • hi dave this might seem like a stupid question but why do some bass guitars have the thumb rest at the bottom of the pick guard.

  • @daveyspide finger rest or pull bar

early days some jazz players used their thumb not the fingers

  • oh man, does that bass look mighty tasty!

  • great iob

  • Dave you are amazing! I have an mitey mite fender precision neck i failed horribly! I only succeeded with putting on the logo. Can you help. Will you do the work can we talk.?

  • @Cruiseangel72

    what can I do ?

  • I'm thinking of creating my own bass for the next one I buy. I figured I can create a better bass than a Mexican Fender for around £100 less than in retail. How do I go about painting and finishing a body?

  • @bbbward

    that's a big job

buy stuff already finished unless you have all the stuff to spray with

    spray bombs never work out

they cost as much as a spray gun

  • @bbbward i built a guitar from scrtahc and youd need a sprayer in order to do it

  • I had a 72 back in the Day Bought it for $295.00!!!!!!!

  • this is an awesome channel

  • Nice work.

  • what do u think of fender j basses will the neck screw up if u put flat wounds on it

  • '72 neck? No. Wrong tuners...

  • @bodgie247

    it's my project relpica

  • Beautiful! You did a great job! LOVE IT!!!!!!

  • that is the greatest fuckin guitar ive ever seen! its my dream bassss!!!!!

  • @theamazingbeatboxer

    Cheers!!!

    you wanna buy it?

    lol

  • @davey4557 if i had the money i would. trust me. its one sexy guitar!

  • how did you gloss the neck (laquer, polyurithane, ear wax =^), etc )

  • @MRCOOL2345e

    lacquer

    fender used lacquer

  • hi mate, nice job. just ask how much u will charge to do that job 4 me?

  • @jura3ppp

I can't get the logo's easily these days

    that a 100 dollar job :)

  • I love the black/white look. Check out what has been under the bed for a while. Played for pay last in 1994

youtube.com/watch?v=czKqXJ-5HJo there were few alternate bridges in 1980 when this was built

  • Excelent finish! Good Work!

  • cool indeed!!!!

  • I have a 70,s P bass that I kept under the bed for 30 plus years except to dust off the case. Couldn,t bear to sell it but pulled it out of the case recently ,plugged the tuner in and did not have to touch a tuning peg. It was amazingly still in tune with those old rotosound round wound strings.Unbelievable!!. I guess you can say that a fender can stand the test of time.I will never get rid of this bass.

  • @rodbuoy

    cool story

thanks for taking time to comment

  • God, I'd love to make myself that bass, although I'd probably put a black pickguard on. What pickups did you use?

  • @lptomtom

    Vintage Fender reissue :)

just like a '72 would have

  • in the old days the front cover was an attempt at shielding

wiring in buildings an electronics in general were shitty way back

the back cover has a sponge mute for a more subtle tone

that's why most got rid of them

  • Dude greatest guitar ever! Long live FENDER!

  • You've just convinced me to buy a P-bass!

I already have an Ibanez Sr 705 5-string, but i want to get to the basics of the bass.

Making it interesting with your kind of playing, not the special effects on the bass.

    Nice video too man!

    Thanks!

  • @Freekicker8

    Thanks for the comment

    Cheers !!!

  • @davey4557 whats the covers on the pickup for

  • excatly what i was looking for thank you haha :)

  • I thought automotive waxes and stuff was bad on guitars

  • @RelaxNplay64

    These are not waxes

they are professional polishing compounds and liquids

  • @davey4557 oh cool

  • is there a way i can polish with out a hand polisher ???

  • @skate4life7999

you cant get a high gloss without high speed

    by hand =dull

  • nice blood stained jacket in the background

  • what is that little black thing on the pickguard

  • @bolser619

Mounted in that position it's called a pull bar or finger rest. Early players rested their fingers on it and played with their thumb

  • Dude looks and sounds great. Where did u get the waterdecal?

  • @gralph18

you can try here or ebay

    best decals on the net

    Cheers !!!
