  • you can dmx the first one,you change the control box to xlr..you can see it been done on youtube.....you can use fire retardent spray on any material..shop around to get some good material..get some good leds..and do your own,,,iam...i had the skytac one,i sold it..basically the cloths are way too expensive try making your own,you might surprise yourself...

  • cheaper to make your own but dunno wat matereial i should use

  • just bought one aswell with same controller blue one controllers are pretty shit with plug :S

  • hard to find records are 2 mins away from me and definetly the best place to get your gear.

  • John - so the ebay cloths are not good? where did you get yours from? are they available in the states??

  • got mine from the UK. theres a link in the description

  • Good video John. The ebay starcloth is a home made cloth. I have seen them on ebay myself. They are pretty dodgy as you mentioned.

I have posted 3 video responses I did on the NJD Star Cloth backdrops I have. NJD also make frontage cloths as well, similar to those in your video. The main difference is that they are made from serge material, not nylon.

Keep up the good work mate.

    Paul.

  • Nice shirt.... Great review!

Gonna do one on the tripod cloths?

  • The ebay controller you showed looked like my christmas tree lights :D

And the pro one looks sweet!!

  • real nice, its a great look and something different.

  • Thanks for the info John! Now I just click on over there and pick some up.

  • i have seen the ebay one before, they are just christmas lights put into sheet, very baddly made and not very safe.

  • i like them - kinda looks elegant or something from here :)

  • Hi John, thanks for this, been wanting one of these I saw the UK John talk about the ones from KAM back over a year ago. Been wanting one of these.

    5 STARS!

  • Hi John,

about the short leads; I would place the controller/box under the speaker stand, and just run power/dmx to it, so it's neat and hidden out the way.

  • Hey John Great Review...

It looks like the first one is handmade with christmas lights in...as the controller in nearly the same to some

The second one looks better brighter and sound to light dmx ect

  • haha i was just thinking of getting one of these and wonderdered were to get them seriosuly lol.. Thanks heaps :)

  • What we call in the electrical trade ROUGH lol

  • Nice, HTFR is really close to me :]

  • i have seen one of them before and it was gunna be 3 grand beacuse light sounds australia sell them.

  • Hey John, nice one,

looks better as in your Pictures on FB.Can you pull the Cloth for the Dj booth a bit more, so it doesn´t have that "plaites"?

I would put some Heatshrink against the little power plugs for the skytec controller, cause if someone pulls on the cable, all the power goes through the Cable to the heatshrink, which is connected to the case of the little plug. So you will not have "pull-power" against the little wires.

    Practise and N Joy

  • The eBay one is clearly a set of christmas lights sewn into a cloth. I have a set of christmas lights at home with an almost identical controller.

  • Thanks for the great product review!!!!

  • Thay look great. And your right ive never seen one, but i have now lol.
