I guess it depends on your computer specs but turning down the MaxAvatarVisible count can help a lot and use Avatar Imposters along with that. Click on the very bottom right tab to see the Avatar Visible slider and set it to around 10-15. I keep mine around 30 and default is 35 i think.

How'd you get your camera to zoom around like that so smoothly?
(I'm trying Singularity today as well).
At first it was hardly any lag, and I could play with Basic Shaders on.
But then, even as I lowered it (with more avatars joining the room I was in), it began to lag a little. :/
