I love this song. Had forgotten about it til I saw an episode a few weeks ago. We have a non-cable station here called Antenna TV, that shows all the good older stuff from my childhood. Partridge Family is one of them. I've rediscovered my love for them. Especially David and Shirley. He was on my wall alongside Bobby Sherman, yeah, I turned 53 last week...damn! Where did it go!! It was most surely a blast having her for a step mom.
I remember playing the record over and over. Drove my mum so crazy, she took the record away for a week. Didn't help cause then I had my Batman theme record, my Brady bunch record, ROFLOL. Great memory starter. Thank you for sharing this great video.
If you're a fan of The Partridge Family, you'll probably like the fun and free weekly podcast, Echo Valley, which celebrates the great bubblegum music from the 1960's and 1970's! There's Partridge Family music almost every week! Give it a try! Just Google "Echo Valley Bubblegum"!
Good tune, except that David Cassidy is the only one of the featured "family" that actually sang or played a note. All "Partridge Family" music was actually the product of talented studio musicians.
@dbt1160 if that's the case, than does that mean they were lip-synching. If I'm correct didn't they travel much like the Brady Bunch hysteria that also took place. I never watched the show but love their music too. I just wish I had been a part of all that and experienced it at the time. I remember very few 70's tunes as the 80's were my generation.
The 70's.... this show was part of ABC'S friday night lineup. I was in the third grade when this show started. Great Times!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A flashback to a time when things were simpler, woodstock was the rave, and flowerpower was the cliche of the moment. A time when Acid was the drug craze and Studio 54 was the place to be. The 70's; when Donna Summer ruled the charts, martin Luther had a dream, and John Lennon would but for one moment, try to imagine........a world without pain or suffering.
King was dead, factories and huge american cars were belching toxins into the environment unchecked, and people littered freely without guilt, but through the noise and smog I heard this song and it f'in ROCKS!!!
Screw you. As apposed to the here and now where child rape is acceptable, politicians can be sexually immoral, Rodney King can be be beaten, Jimmy Swaggert can sin, The Holacaust never happened and Elvis is not dead. OK then....
I saw David Cassidy live and he played this song. He still sounds exactly the same. It makes me want to cry. I felt like a fish out of water at the concert because I was the only one under 20 years old. xD
Love Love the Partridge Family! I wasn't into David back then, but seeing this video now, I realize how damn sexy he was! Thanks for posting this. I am so glad to see so many young people loving this music today. David really had a great voice and great range. My old PF records are in extreme played condition, so I won't be pulling those back out, but I will certainly be downloading me some PF soon!
i am 15 yEARS OLD AND DUDE THIS MUSIC WILL BE CLASIC FOR EVER TO MY KIDS KIDS AND DONT GET ME WRONG I LOVE ME SOMETHING CONTEMPORY LIKE RAP OR RAND B OR EVEN SOUL BUT NOTHING CAN COMPARE TO A PARTRIDGE OR A MONKEES SONG AND DAY?!
One of my fav Partridge Family songs. I was happy David played it last Saturday in concert at The Orleans Casino Las Vegas. I got a handsqueeze from David too! What a night ;-)
My sister was really into david cassidy, when we were kids, i really got into his music on youtube, love this song, been trying to find a dvd, of a 70,s concert, with footage, not just audio.
David Cassidy wanted to rock harder than The Partridge Family. Guess this is about as close as The Partridge Family ever got. There is even some fret-hand muting parts thrown in. I was a kid back then, but damn Shirley Jones was a good-looking woman !!
@superseam1010 I had the good fortune to see DC in concert @ Madison Square Garden... Must have been around 1970...awesome :) He had the all-white outfit, laced up the front, a la Elvis and Roger Daltrey. So pretty. And yes, he was rocking!
This brings back a lot of great memories from my childhood watching The Partridge Family, I enjoyed the show and songs then and still do. Thanks so very much for posting this video I enjoyed it a lot!!!
ok, well number one, you can't just say that no copyright infringement is intended and everything is ok. You are totally in violation of the copyright, and I wouln't be surprised in the slightest if you got a cease and desist. two, why are you threatening to "report people to YouTube" - like youtube is some kind of actual authority? Did you tell on people when they were smoking in the bathroom too? geez!
Jeez, are people on YOUTUBE really that stupid. I am not selling or do anything remotely wrong with my video. I am purely sharing a video with other fans who enjoy the PF. It is NOT MINE, I DID NOT MAKE THE SHOW. At least I have the common courtesy to show some respect for the owners, which is more than I can say for others.
Second of all, if you READ the description properly you would realize that I was reporting people on PORN SPAMMING which as you can tell was a major issue back when I posted this video. I don't want to have fucking porn links on a video which I know children as well as my own siblings view!
And instead of focusing on the video, you want to pick an argument over something so ridiculously stupid. I fucking hate what YOUTUBE have become lately, fight after fight after fight. Well I am sorry but I am not going to go through that. End of conversation.
Shirley sure does rock out! They really knew how to perform to these songs to add so much realism. Such a great show. I think Suzanne said in an interview that she knows all the words to all these songs still today after all the memorizing. They lip synched pretty well for the mnost part!

I find it so funny how obvious the fake playing is for the younger Partridges. Danny's especially. Not once does he move his left hand, despite the clear change in chords in the song.
Wow! This is a different version of the album version.David Cassidy was an amazing singer he was like 18 years old.His dad was so jealous of his son's fame thats why they never got along.
What is the story about Chris#1? I have heard a lot of rumors about him not getting along and his dad wanted him to get more money I never did hera the whole truth about why Chris #1 left
Dude I just watched that movie Come On Get Happy:Patridge Family or whatever it was called but it dealt with the Patridge Family and I felt like watching it and i'm like in love with the songs now and i'm only 15!I was'nt even alive during the 70s but hey David Cassidy was sexy no wonder girls loved him back then lol XD I just started to get into David Cassidy and those other teen idols my mom was a Donny Osmond and David Cassidy fan more of a Donny fan but I love David and Shaun the most
Thank you for posting this - I love the Partridge Family and though I have several of their CDs and DVDs, as well as the original records, it's so nice to see this. Brings back good memories and of course, it's nice to see yummy David Cassidy!
Thank you for sharing The Partridge Family with us. I grew up watching this show. And yes like millions of girls in the 70's fell in love with David. :)
wkares it's me! i'm tired too and was earlier; all i meant was i could go on and on and on and on coming up with different dc/pf songs I love! today it's cant't go home 1st and morning rider on the road 2nd. tomorrow ???? there are so many brilliant songs by this beautiful man to choose from! xxxxxxxx

Thank you for posting this - I love the Partridge Family and though I have several of their CDs and DVDs, as well as the original records, it's so nice to see this. Brings back good memories and of course, it's nice to see yummy David Cassidy!
