I can tell you're happy. Nothing wrong with being real. Sleep is definitely important! lol My husband and I don't always sleep together but we have an awesome marriage. Our bed hurts his back so he sleeps on the futon or couch a lot. I also like to go to bed a lot earlier because we have different work schedules. I'm a light sleeper so he doesn't like coming in late and waking me up. It's no big deal. We love sleeping with each other but there's nothing wrong if we don't always do that.
I think you have a very practical setup. My husband and I normally don't sleep together because our bed hurts his back. Plus he snores and wakes me up, which is weird because I snore like crazy too.
so cute whatever floats your boat and keeps you happy and at peace. so groovey. I like big spaces like 5 bdrms if I could.take care of each other! :=))
thanks for sharing...i snoring really bad, with the same sleep arrangements. it sucks but hey what are ya gonna do...pretty babbies you have(kitty) . i have a gray fluffy cat with fur like a rabbit.

lol I wanted hubby to sleep in another room but he wouldn't so I resorted to buying a kingsize bed to give us each more sleeping space...I don't know why he wants to stay in the same room, I snore like a freight train lol....love your results by the way, wish you better heath to go with it though.
I had GBS almost 5 yrs ago and I had a C=PAP too...not very sexy! I have been married 15 yrs and when my husband is home (he's a truck driver) we sleep separately too! I sleep on the couch and he sleeps in our bedroom. I sleep on the couch because I have a neck injury and the couch is much more comfy for me. My grandparents slept in separate bedroom too and they loved eachother very much! That is not weird at all!!! You look great by the way!
i do the same thing,my husband snores, steals the blankett,i like to go to bed late and watch tv,he can't sleep with tv on,he thinks its weird that i don't go to bed with him,i used to lay down next to him until he would fall asleep and then go downstairs and watch tv,now i work a swing shift,i come home he wakes up,problem solved, and yes we are happily married and love eachother
Amelia, hi, I am a new subscriber to your videos. when I was doing research on WLS your face popped up so I started watching and you have been a big help. Thank you!
Anyway about this video, you don't have to answer to anyone! My husband and I sleep in seperate beds too. At first I was insulted, but when I got used to it I love it. Like you said I can stay up as long as I want and watch whatever TV shows at whatever time I want.
My mom and dad had separate rooms the whole time I was growing up and it is not weird my grand parents did the same thing. If it makes you happy more power to you.
hahaha... I was cracking up the whole time watching this. My husband and I have only been married for a year and a half but decided early on to sleep in seperate rooms because he sounds like a life size garbage disposal when he sleeps and I'm a witch when you wake me up out of a dead sleep. Our last trip to Vegas was actually MISERABLE at night becuase we ended up in a room with only one bed. lol Let's just say I wouldn't let him sleep if I couldn't. Other than that, we're two smitten kittens :)
Although me and my husband sleep together on a very expensive king size bed...there is no amount of money I'd be willing to spare in order to have separate bathrooms ad separate closets! IT IS A MUST!!!
we have seperate bedrooms too. i have a cpap that keeps my husband awake & he needs to have a fan on that i hate & he talks in his sleep & kicks alot..it is good for our marriage...we get good sleep so we have lots of energy for other indoor sports
I believe you are happy, but that is soo weird to me! I cant even fall asleep without my husband by my side. I put earplugs in cause he snores now since he put on his "daddy" weight. (the 10 lbs a daddy adds by sympathy preggers weight and by polishing off toddler plates). We have an awesome cali king and its great since his is 6'5" and I am nearly 6'. Sleeping with him is not tense...sleeping with a child in between does get OLD! BUT whatever works for yall...its just still weird to me!
I totally understand! Even now with my ex-husband whose my "soulmate" we're considering moving back in together as roommates and we both want our own rooms. It works for you girl- then it works. And you both rest well so youre in better moods to interact with each other. Awesome!
I wish I could have my own room. I have a 4 bedroom house and am married with 4 kids. So I withstand the constant snoring and gripping about me moving or messing up the covers. Oh! and he throws his stuff everywhere and wants me to clean the room. Cant wait till I get my own room!!!!
I thought we were the only ones until about four or five years into our marriage. LOL, NOT!
My other half snores like you wouldn't believe. It's like sleeping with a chain saw. He wants the t.v. on ALL THE TIME....I can sometimes fall asleep with it on, but it wakes me up if it stays on. He's also like a fish out of water. He steals all the blankets. I tried ear plugs, but they hurt my ears.
Now I sleep in the guest room. We've never been happier!
hello!!! Did you hear what she was saying??? Sleep is important....if you dont want to be possitive try not saying anything negative to others. It's not good for anybody.
If the only time you guys are apart is when you're sleeping or at work? I don't see anything wrong with that. You sound like you love each other and do everything together, so its obviously not an intimacy or relationship problem that put you in separate rooms. ( You look fantabulous by the way = ) and I agree with others that you are very small and at a perfectly healthy weight to settle at. ) Anxious about my surgery. =)
who cares what others think, they shouldnt be so noisey lol... your business is your business. My hubby works thirds, so its like we have our own bed because I get up and he goes to bed. Its perfect... I can sleep upside down if I want LOL
One bedroom here and we both have c pap machines. He gets to bed far earlier than me. I am often up watching YouTube about 5 hours or more after he has gone into bed. Yeah, and he wakes and knows what time I come into bed. So he hears the fly!!!
My husband snores too but we got him a mouth piece and we both sleep WAY better now. I couldn't imagine sleeping separate from my hubby but I'm gad it works for you!
hey, I spilled tea on my laptop so i am on the desktop now with no sound :( Yeah, Im a spaz! So I cant hear you but you look skinny! Oh and I sleep with my hubby even though he snores, BUT we use an air purifier (white nose drowns out some of the snoring) and I started using ear plugs when our baby was about 18 months (hubby wakes up with her now!). Dont know what I will do when a sibling arrives...Im so used to the ear plugs! BUT I cant sleep without him by my side! TO each his (or their) own!
you are too cute. ive been trying to get my own room cause my hubby snores all the time and i wake up and have to roll him over all the time. so way to go.
I have suffered for over 20 years from the hub with SEVERE sleep apnea....I finally had enough and a year ago I moved into my OWN room. It has NOTHING to do with anything other than...I NEED SLEEP!!!! The man jolts in his sleep...snores as loud as an ox...twitches, kicks, talks, yells, and instead of me coming THIS close to killing him, I felt it best to MOVE to the next room. We've been married since 1975......He now has a cpap and its helped big time, but, this works PERFECTLY for us.!!!
hey amelia! I liked your vid ~ I think all couples do different things that work for them individually where other couples might smirk at what works. They are just haters!
Also it is so nice having the extra space with no kids and extra rooms. Im really happy for the two of you, its so nice to have a great guy beside you. One that can stick with you through thick/thin!
Thats how my guy is, he gives me unconditional love always. 5 years and going strong! RNY 2009 =]
I WANT MY OWN BATHROOM!!! Don't sweat the "nay nayers" I have my own room as well and for many of the same reasons, my hubby didn't like it at first but now he enjoys the "me" time.....ME TOO!!
DH and I sleep in different rooms too. DH is the one with the horrible snoring problems and I take forever to get to sleep and if he is in there snoring I just can NOT get to sleep at all!
So he sleeps in another room and we're so much happier! We have 7 kids so something is working, LOL
hi Amelia! You look beautiful Girl! Also I see your smile and energy came back :-) I have seen all your videos while thinking of the RNY. I am having it dome next Friday :-) and I am not afraid-you gave me hope Sweetie. Also-separate beds! This is a great idea as it is like dating forever ;) plus you have your own space and rituals. Lots of love
It's nice now that my husband has has his cpap machine but before that I was ready for separate bedrooms . And when we would go to hotels or camping he could wake the dead and still wonder how I slept thought it then he got the machine and I could not sleep cause I was so use to the snoring but now when he doesn't have his machine i can't sleep ! And yes I'm a freeze baby away have my heating blanket on high year round .
my mom and dad have never slept together as far as i can remember. lol my brother and i say our mom must of touched a fertility god or somthing for her to get prego with us, i think it's kinda normal, i like to sleep alone.
I don't find it that weird. My friends that have been married over 2 years have seperate bathrooms..."because boys bathrooms are icky" lol.
I've always liked the concept of seperate rooms, cause it's only recently that couples shared beds let alone rooms. Like the seperate apartments in the Austen Era. *shrug* I could never do it cause i like to cuddle too much lol.
Cute top Amelia! =] My Gma & Gpa totally slept separate :-) Wow Joel sounds like a super crazy sleeper! LOL thrashing superman, lol... Kitty so cute in the kitty bed :o) Totally NOT weird. I want a king size bed to have more room - sleeping separate would be fine with me, LOL ....
My parents had separate bedrooms. They have been married for over 35 years. They could not sleep together because my mom had insomnia and dad was a light sleeper, sleeps with a noise maker. :) No worries, its what ya do before ya go to sleep that matters LOL
Me and my husband have seperate bedroom's also. Mauro bried too much and Ican't sleep well...so the better is sleep in separate room...anyway..sometimes we stay in the same bed and is great ahahahha...kisses
Me and my husband have seperate bedroom's also. We both snore really bad and keep each other up. So we just have seperate bedrooms. I know lots of people that don't share a bed either. My husband is a night owl and I go to bed early........lol Plus my cats and sometimes dog's sleep with me........
LOL I'm a night owl too & my hubby goes to bed early....I wake him up but whatever I can't sleep without him......I need to feel him close like Linus and his blanket (Linus from Peanuts)!!!!
LOL not only do I sleep with my husband our 4 yr old still sleeps with us. Oh what I wouldn't do for my own bed. Or at least a bed with just me and my husband. LOL
Me and my hubby do the same thing. I understand, he sleeps better and I do too. Plus I like my bedroom kept one way and he likes his kept another way. It all works out and we have a great relationship.
i have been married nearly 30th years and to this day i cant sleep if am not in bed with my hubby and he snores like a pig but i think i have got use to it now
I can not believe people actually questioned you about this, It is your prerogative to have whatever arrangement you & your husband feel comfortable with without having to answer to anybody... Whatever floats your boat! Fab
Hey Amelia, ROFL...I've been waiting for this video because the second you said you and Joel don't sleep together I knew you were going to catch so much crap about it. I was obviously right ;->Sheesh, as far as I'm concerned, girl you got it made in the shade. Hubby and I wake each other up ALL THE TIME and it sucks. I need to go to sleep by no later then 2am cause I have to get up with kids. He don't sleep until 5am and drives me crazy. TX for the explanation but so not needed I GET IT :-)
I love my husband very much. We've been married for years and have 4 kids, but I seriously sleep better when I sleep alone. He's the cuddly type and I hate cuddling, I'm a light sleeper & he snores. Unfortunately we don't have separate rooms but if I could... I would.... so I hear what your saying girl. :)
I have been married for 10 years and I would actually love to have my own bedroom but my husband doesnt want me too...I am up late at night and am noisy and my husband snores loud and I cant hear tv, I really want my own room lol...
Hey Sugar, I've found that I sleep better without the dogs in the bed. Whatever works. I thought you were weird at first, but I really get it now. Mom
Hey Amelia, my husband and I sleep seperately too, and soooo NOT because we don't love each other. We are insanely in love and spend all our time together, but I just sleep better alone lol! xx
oh my word I was laughing so bad at this...my hubby is threatening to get his own room from my gas since GB..LOL..he even installed extra fans in both bathrooms..but I am so cold now I need him to warm me up as soon as I get in bed. Plus sex has gotten so much better since weight loss that would be my only hold back from not going into a seperate bedroom, but it sounds nice I could decorate it really prissy and lady like...I would love that...
My husband insists on the TV being on, brings an armload of snacks and sits on the bed eating them, (sugar..and wonders why he can't sleep) steals the covers, hogs the bed, throws his leg over me, wakes me up at 4 AM for...a back rub...never mind his morning rituals. I live in SC too...there's no decent jobs left here for a carpenter, so he is in Virginia working and the truth is, I am loving every minute of it.
As long as you're having sex who cares where you "sleep" you know? I always have to have a fan blowing and I hate feeling like I'm bothering someone else. I totally get it. Sleep is too precious lol. I just had to sleep next to my sister in Vegas for 3 nights over the weekend and I didn't know how I was going to survive! I didn't even have a fan! Surprisingly i actually slept! It gave me hope that maybe if I ever do get married I'll be able to sleep in the same bed with another person lol.
hey, we sleep in separate rooms too. stef never sleeps and would keep me awake at night...so I had to move into another room to save my sanity!! I love her to death and shes is truly my soul mate, but a guy needs his sleep!!
My parents havent shared a bed in probably over 20 years at least lol. Dad snores like you wouldnt believe, and mom THRIVES on a good nights sleep lol. Plus she likes to lay in bed and read too before she goes to sleep. It works for them, tho I think dad gets a little lonely sometimes lol. I HATE sleeping with someone...I like to hog the bed...one good thing about my divorce, the beds ALL mine...till the kids come climb in at 3 am lol...
You know what I think that is such a good idea. Raymond & I have always said when we get a bigger place we're gonna have seperate rooms. Mostly because we want our own space, want to decorate it in our own style. Also, I like to stay up late & he doesn't most of the time. We sleep fine together & I actually like sleeping with him.. maybe I could sleep on his bed with him?? I dunno I guess we'll figure out the details when we get there lol.
I know right? When I started this video the first thing I thought of was that King of Queens episode LOL. I love that show! It makes every day life occurrences funnier!
My honey and I sleep in separate beds / rooms also. I'm the light sleeper, and he snores like a grisly bear, has restless leg syndrome, and like Joel, he flops around like a fish out of water. He also likes a firm twin mattress, while I prefer my king size pillow top mattress. My grandparents didn't sleep together either. She was in the bedroom and he preferred the sofa. It's not as uncommon as people think really. :)
lol thst is so funny! i'm giggling so hard over here. y'all are too cute! I can totally understand! But my husband and I are like 2 little monkeys attached at the hip even while we sleep! lol. what a cute video amelia!
Hello my husband and I sleep in seperate beds!!! We have been married 29 years. He goes to bed at 8:30 I am just getting started so what!!!! Sleep is to important!!!!
Cute sweater! Oh yeah and I had the same experience. My snoring could have ripped the wallpaper off the walls. We sleep in seperate rooms too but the relationship rocks. I get you!
My hubby and I sleep apart when one of us is sick, and it's probably the most restful sleep I ever get. I don't think my husband would go for this setup, but it makes sense to me! :0)
I think more and more people are realizing that comfort trumps all! Nothing wrong with being who you are and still having a healthy love life! Keep making those vids...doesn't have to be about WLS...anything about life is good too! Keep getting/feeling better! That was a bad ass thing you went through!
Oh honey, I so know what you are talking about. My hubby and I are dorks for each other too. He works midnights. LOL He SNORES like he just chopped down the biggest tree in the forest with a herring. He thrashes around too. LOL
honestly its not weird - i mean me n my hubby do th same thing exceot wehave one bed in one bedroom but we sleep at seperate times, and he kisses me goodnight andi stay up doing whatever! so really its not that weird i just think people are curious because most people dont do the seprate bedrooms but ya know you have a bigger house n no kids - plus alota arguements start over someone snoring or keeping someone up or space issues so you might have the right idea forthe rest of us too
i can totally tell you cleaned! Looks very nice! And who cares what anyone thinks about yalls sleeping arrangements? If it works for you than whoo-hoo!
I can tell you're happy. Nothing wrong with being real. Sleep is definitely important! lol My husband and I don't always sleep together but we have an awesome marriage.

My parents had separate bedrooms. They have been married for over 35 years. They could not sleep together because my mom had insomnia and dad was a light sleeper, sleeps with a noise maker. :) No worries, its what ya do before ya go to sleep that matters LOL

Me and my hubby do the same thing. I understand, he sleeps better and I do too. Plus I like my bedroom kept one way and he likes his kept another way. It all works out and we have a great relationship.

zel475 2 years ago
I have been married for 10 years and I would actually love to have my own bedroom but my husband doesnt want me too...I am up late at night and am noisy and my husband snores loud and I cant hear tv, I really want my own room lol...

my husband and i have separate blankets too, vashtinura, but sleep in the same bed. easier to control your own temperature and comfort that way.

I think there is no problem with seperate rooms and beds....what ever is better for the couple. You get better sleep alone beleive me

Hey Sugar, I've found that I sleep better without the dogs in the bed. Whatever works. I thought you were weird at first, but I really get it now. Mom

Hey Amelia, my husband and I sleep seperately too, and soooo NOT because we don't love each other. We are insanely in love and spend all our time together, but I just sleep better alone lol! xx
wildrose39 2 years ago
oh my word I was laughing so bad at this...my hubby is threatening to get his own room from my gas since GB..LOL..he even installed extra fans in both bathrooms..but I am so cold now I need him to warm me up as soon as I get in bed.

Gooodwitch 2 years ago
As long as you're having sex who cares where you "sleep" you know? I always have to have a fan blowing and I hate feeling like I'm bothering someone else. I totally get it. Sleep is too precious lol. I just had to sleep next to my sister in Vegas for 3 nights over the weekend and I didn't know how I was going to survive! I didn't even have a fan! Surprisingly i actually slept! It gave me hope that maybe if I ever do get married I'll be able to sleep in the same bed with another person lol.

I HATE sleeping with someone...I like to hog the bed...one good thing about my divorce, the beds ALL mine...till the kids come climb in at 3 am lol...
tinacrook 2 years ago
You know what I think that is such a good idea. Raymond & I have always said when we get a bigger place we're gonna have seperate rooms. Mostly because we want our own space, want to decorate it in our own style. Also, I like to stay up late & he doesn't most of the time. We sleep fine together & I actually like sleeping with him.. maybe I could sleep on his bed with him?? I dunno I guess we'll figure out the details when we get there lol.

No need to explain or defend yourself A!
I wish I had the same gig. My hubby takes it personally if I leave the bed and go on the couch...
King of Queens had the funniest episode on this!

I think more and more people are realizing that comfort trumps all! Nothing wrong with being who you are and still having a healthy love life! honestly its not weird - i mean me n my hubby do th same thing exceot wehave one bed in one bedroom but we sleep at seperate times, and he kisses me goodnight andi stay up doing whatever! so really its not that weird i just think people are curious because most people dont do the seprate bedrooms but ya know you have a bigger house n no kids - plus alota arguements start over someone snoring or keeping someone up or space issues so you might have the right idea forthe rest of us too
