Oh my goodness!!! That's one terrible story. What was he thinking? Just picked up a copy of the Bee-Hives " Beatnik Baby"on Fleetwood. Do you know this record? I've only seen this once before and it went for good money. The title might turn people off, but it's a great record nonetheless.
@errolflynn451 One of my brothers had a collection similar to mine, all 3 of us collected the same style music. At the time about 5000 records, he sold them all for $1,500. along w/ a copy of this. All I can say is "I could shoot him" he sold them & told me afterwards. This was about 5-6 years ago?
@errolflynn451 Good luck! I sold this copy shown on Ebay about 3-4 years ago for $453.00, somebody in Japan bought it, It's not an easy record to find. What is her real name?
Cool side...when I saw the thumbnail, I almost thought it was a Philles side I'd never heard...produced by the underappreciated Rob Finiz, though...a fun post...thank you
The name of the artist and song title made me laugh like crazy! I was laughing so hard, I couldn't even hear the song! Thanks! Laughter is good for the soul!
Well, If I could sing, I would surely contribute one to Dion. I sware I was the biggest Dion fan that ever existed. I would actually put a stack of Dion & Belmonts LPs on my Hi-Fi at night and listen to them until the last one played, when finished I would then fall asleep. Growing up in the early 60s, Dion was my hero!
Dion is Great, I saw him in Orillia Ontario at Rama Casino a few years ago, he put on a really good show, he's one of the all time best Rock n' Rollers.
I'll always like him, always will! It's too bad he couldn't have a reunion with Carlo, Angelo and Freddy! I saw Dion about 20 years ago at the Warwick Tent, ultra nice!
it was Dion & Jay and the Americans show at the Warwick Tent in the 80's. Jay phoned in and they had his call over the PA system saying how sorry he was that he couldn't be there. They offered refunds, Half the crowd left, but I stayed and saw Dion.
GHEEZ, I thought I saw all the Dion Shows at the tent. I saw him there twice, once he had his daughter & the other time he called a few people up on stage to help do the backup to Teenager In Love. This was in the 80s both times. It had to have been 3 times he was there because I'd remember if Jay was there, I love the guy. I lived in Warwick at the the time, hnm.
Agreed, he's terrific. Saw him in Pontiac, Mich., some years ago when he gave a free public concert (sponsored by the city); when I first saw the concert advertised, I wasn't sure it was THE Dion, so I went and, voila! Heard his "Streets of New York City" that night and then hunted down the tape. Cool memories.
"King Of The New York Streets"! WITH YOU ALL THE WAY!!!!!!
Steve from The Roomates stays in touch with Dion. Dion said he had the full *I Wonder Why* video from American Bandstand, If we can just get him to post the full video, I think it would end up as the most veiwed video in the doowop world. 10 seconds just isn't long enough. I believe that is the only video with the whole group. I would love to see it before I die, i think all us fans would agree.
Thanks for this. And I agree; if they release the video of I Wonder Why, it would be awesome. It's still one that I have in my head all the time, and a GREAT doo wop song.

dowopper51 - I have seen a few copies on e-bay and they've sold for $290-$500. I should have never sold my copy.
