try researching medical marijuana as a replacement for clozapine as it is THC in pill form. I know many people who are FREE, not Committed by a law judge to take clozapine. also try using the natural mushroom chaga, it grows wild in the forest...these have helped many I know who live a FREE NATURAL life....that means no Doctors.
@CherylTimeify I couldn't imagine that the thc pill could help me personally, I have used marijuana many times after being diagnosed with schizophrenia and it made my symptoms way worse right away and even after i sobered up. Many scientists who study schizophrenia find that there is a link between schizophrenia and cannabis and i know thc is the main ingredient in marijuana that get's you high. I dont know how you can handle such a heavy drug. I take 100mg of amisulpride, 25mg of seroquel and 5mg of valium at night and that puts me to bed and thats a low dose! My psychiatrist said I can get off the medication if I want. I only had delusions from drugs; 2 episodes. Maybe I havent got schitzophrenia?? I have been well ffor about 4 years now. Maybe you should change your medication. What do you think about my comment?
Well the drugs you take are different from mine. different drugs do different side effects. My dose is actually quite typical for most on clozapine. I too use to take seroquel but I was on up to 600 mg's a night including 4 mg's of repiridal. That is a high dose and would make me very tired and sleep up to 14 hours a day. When I take my pills, I take them at night and go to bed within half an hour because I can't function on them.
I take clozapine 100mg morning 100mg evening and 200mg at night. Is your shrink ok with you taking them all at once? I deal with a lot of sedation in the morning.
ya I don't know how you can take it in the morning. I can't function when on it and that's why I take it all at night. It makes me extremely sedated and dizzy and gives me a really wierd feeling I can only escape by sleeping, but by morning I'm completely fine. The sedation is nothing in comparison with serequel though.
theres a BIG difference. trying olanzapine now but its not as effective. clozapine worked wonders for me and is the best anti psych iv tried. luckily i think theres only a 1% chance of developing neutropenia so most ppl can take it safely

It should take a couple of weeks to notice a difference but is very gradual, it took me months till I was quite a bit better mentally. Even year two on it was better than year one. They say that it can keep helping years down the road instead of just plateuing after a couple of months but everyone is different. You should ask your doctor, he knows more than me. Good luck

The main thing is telepathy or thought broadcasting, that is pretty much gone. The speech thing, do you mean you slur your words, because I got that and clozapine has helped but I still slur a little bit. The numb emotion thing, from my knowledge clozapine is the only anti psycotic that treat some of the negative symptoms, not just the positive. Numb emotions seem like negative symptoms to me. For me clozapine has helped with the congnitive functioning, memory, organization of thoughts.
Continued: Have you ever had any heart problems while on cloz? I went through a stage of cardiomyopathy which is a weakening of the heart muscle so along with the blood tests I have also have to have an echocardiogram each month which is a bummer. It's good to know I'm not the only one out there! Take care.

i do get alot of saliva and i pee alot too.
agranulocytosis is a very dangerous condition often referred as fatal.
it usually develops between the second and the third month after start taking it.

This only effects one in a thousand. Nothing to worry about. In the 50's there was someone who died so the med was taken off the martket.

Well the drugs you take are different from mine. different drugs do different side effects. My dose is actually quite typical for most on clozapine. My doctor gave me some eye drops that when put in your mouth it stops the salivating but tastes like crap and gives me a wierd feeling in my mouth.

You can get a pill for the salivating. Its actually a travel sickness tablet but it also works for hyper salivation. Its called Kwells

they called it neutropenia when i got it,
came off clozapine because of it. i got it after being on it for over 2 years so had to change over to a different medication
