It's good that Take That stick to their sound ( a bit dance) and not go 'rocky' just to improve themselves that they are a real band. People should know right now that you can also bring emotions in a song with synths and drumcomputers and not only with live drums and guitars.

Gary Barlow was the one who made the Electronic music.

THEN Robbie joined the band. They were going to do this with or without him.

Robbie was the one who did Eight Letters and The Flood. The LEAST Electronic sounding tracks. Barlow wanted to rename the band into 'The English' but Robbie said that was a stupid name.

Also I hear Gary apparently does the bridge and Chorus. Robbie on the leads. That's the word on the street.

Yes, it was Barlow's decision to make the songs electronic, but Robbie has never (short of Better Man) written a melody in his life. He did not write Eight Letters and the Flood, he is the key lyricist of the songs.

@MrDan2593 When you say Robbie 'did' Eight Letters and The Flood, if you mean he wrote them then that's not entirely true. He wrote the lyrics for Eight Letters originally and then fine tuning of them was a collaborative band effort. The Flood lyrics were not written entirely by Robbie either and both songs, musically, were written as full backing tracks by Gary, as per the rest of the album.

This new sound has nothing to do with Robbie. This electronic backing tracks were made by Gary, Stuart Price and the others before they met for the first time with Robbie in the studio. Robbie just took part in the lyrical content of the album.

Well, i respect your opinion. Personally, i don't find any similarities with Robbie's previous work. "Rudebox" was his only "electronic" album and it didn't sound like this... I know that when a band or artist makes a change to a new style there will always be supporters and detractors, and that's ok, i respect it, but i just don't think it's fair to blame it on Robbie, because the decision to try a different soun came from the five of them.
