If the earths surface shifts in 1 hr by 90 degree then simple maths will tell you that everything on the earths surface will travel at approx 250 miles per hour, just as a rough guess at the numbers being the earth is approx 24000 miles meaning we currently move at 1000 miles per hour (24hrs in aday) and then a tilt shifting that by 1/4 is 250 miles per hour at 90 degrees, I dont think anyone will survive such a move. But the big question remains is what do you base the 1hr interval on?

@straats Actually you don't need a flood or an earthquake to make all the nuclear reactors go into meltdown. All you need to do is to had the grid electricity shut off for any length of time. The reactors need constant cooling that is supplied by electrified pumps. If the electricity from the grid goes down then the backup generators kick in but once they run out of fuel to keep the pumps going then meltdowns will occur. When there is no electricity then there is no fuel delivery. Meltdown.

They are not designed to keep working for days or longer. They fake the tests so that these generators never have to ramp up to full power for very long, if ever. @straats Actually you don't need a flood or an earthquake to make all the nuclear reactors go into meltdown. All you need to do is to had the grid electricity shut off for any length of time. The reactors need constant cooling that is supplied by electrified pumps. If the electricity from the grid goes down then the backup generators kick in but once they run out of fuel to keep the pumps going then meltdowns will occur. When there is no electricity then there is no fuel delivery. Meltdown.

@SparkyMcBiff I agree with you totally... I also heard from a guy who worked in the industry that most of these generators would only work for a couple of minutes to hours before failing. They are not designed to keep working for days or longer. They fake the tests so that these generators never have to ramp up to full power for very long, if ever. What he told me is that they test them at a small fraction of capacity, if they do at all. May be rumor, may not be... ???

The only possible way to survive is to go to very high elevations, like the Adirondacks in NY state. 100 feet above sea level isn't going to do it because land masses may drop as tsunamis come inland or we may have mega-tsunamis. And if you were in very high elevations, you'd still need to go underground to survive because, in the years 2028-29 esp., there will be so many asteroids, the atmosphere will be too toxic to breath.
It will be much worse than we're being led to believe. :(

Well, I don't know if she's right, I don't know if she's wrong. What I do know is that it is never a bad idea to have an armagedon bag ready to go for any emergency. It's not out of fear, It's out of my boy scout manual.
