amp settings? you need more than that dude, pickups, wood, picks, technique, amp, amp settings, if you want to literally sound the same as this, you need paul's exact gear, plus his hands and technique

Yep, both the guitar and bass are tuned down a tone (whole step). Normally it's done in standard (spaceship one version) or down a semi-tone (half step, 1987 racer x version)

it's all about taste. look at a few of the first shredders, schon and evh. they both had monster talent, but took the pop way to use it. if your music apeals to chicks you sell albums/become famous. btw, i would also add tipton to the list.
