I derive the 'they don't care enough to try' part from A) that they outright yell on a regular basis that they prefer battle to talkin', and B) a comment in retribution about how they'll perform a mercenary job in exchange for a fight against three imperial guard regiments and the inquisitor's hat. The former was offered by the inquisitor. The latter was proposed by the Ork.

Orks > everything in DoW2. Seriously, Orks have some of the best anti-vehicle units I have ever seen.. I can take out a fully upgraded Predator with a single Tankbusta squad. Plus.. Warboss with a Power Klaw? No contest against tanks.

@benbottle you don't build any bases in DOW2 before a mission you choose a 4 squad team (heavy gunners, scouts etc), there weaponry armor and do the mission.

@benbottle DoW2 is better described as a Real Time Tactical game instead of Real Time Strategy. Don't get me wrong, there's plenty of strategy involved, but what really determines the winner is who controls their squads better. There's no base building, and instead of a bunch of cheaper units, you control a smaller amount of very expensive squads. You can reinforce squads, which is cheaper than building a new squad (much cheaper), so squad preservation is key. :)

you can se victory conditions to points/destruction or simply to destructio (elminate all ennemy units + their base)

but you an only build turret or reinforcement posts to reinforc your squad.

@yellowhelloable just FYI I play SC2, And SC, It tooked blizzard like 10 years to make that game balanced with all there base building the first DoW Was able to quickly master all the different races and balance with Base building. And it tooked Blizzard 10 years to fix SC, (Like some of the more simple but major important things like spawnning pool costing 150 XD) How long do you think SC2 Is going to take? Hopfully much faster then 10 years, but it still has a long way to go.

If u like tabletop just get the tabletop mod it makes it just as upfront as it can be to table front 

like more units I think there's a different size for different races

And upgrades are more specific

So there's more units on the battlefeild

And there's more mods out there to make gameplay better

Like for darkcrusade theres fok mod really is a great mod if it works (mine doesn't)

Lol the sluggas sound like Grots Dawn of war was not just about big armies It also involved some tactics but the main thing I disliked was there is no cover only big ditch's and the graphics man o man I guess they only focused on gameplay than graphics I'm a huge warhammer fan so don't get me wrong I never got the chance to play DOW2 because of my lame computer maybe when I get the chance I will play and change my mind :)

You better be bacause after all the video im watching, im planning to get DOW2 either. Just to let you know, DOW1 is a Command and conquer ripoff, the 1st game that had the feeling of having 40k unites like you mentioned. DOW2 is now a Company of heroes ripoff(look it up on youtube, its a great world war 2 game) I hate command conquer series because you only need numbers to win and almost no strategy. Only being fast. Starcraft is still the best rts because it require the most strategy ever.

part of the 40k experience is overwhelming numbers, tyranids, imperial guard, and orks are all swarm armies, they win using numbers, thats just how they are, the 40k universe is mostly massive battles, so its only natural that they would make the game like that, while there are small conflicts with few squads as well, they seem to be the focus of DoW2, just because a game is similar doesn't mean its a ripoff, ive played command and conquer and their not that similar

I do think both are the best rts's but dow 2 is better. Dow 1 has larger units and more races. But to me dow 2 is more tactical and better because it focuses on kicking serious butt with the units you have rather than just building the biggest force with no battlefield strategy. Dow 1 is great but dow 2 is definintley better.

@jonaimmigrant pop limit is 100, and in DoW 2 there's no base building, it's all point capture. Some commanders can build turrets, and a tyranid hero can build a tunnel network to quickly move troops through, but it doesn't get any farther into base building than that. Right now, it's missing Chaos, which makes it feel off. Fortunately, they're fixing that first by adding Chaos in the first expansion.
