  • Yo downtoearthshow. Thank you for posting. Too often I find myself surrounded by people who are floating faaaaaar out in some thin New Age ether. Tolle can suck it. Neale Donald Walsch is a real scumbag too. Charlatans with clearly false premises. There is an OBJECTIVE REALITY, people. Saying "it's all vibration" doesn't make it any less *real*. Vibrations are real and create solids. Yeah, so? You want to look at what's *not* real? Look at DELUSION. See: Tolle, Walsch, Robbins, etc.

    Seriously.

  • Well done guys...the question you are asking is are we here to suffer or to enjoy. These new age 'guru's' are pointing us toward the latter. In doing this you have to believe and think for yourself, and it is easier for most people to suffer and let others do their thinking.

  • Life is full of strive because we are sinners . The Answer is Jesus God who came in the flesh. God became a man for you.Because we are all sinners sentenced to hell.

The wages of sin is death and hell.Jesus took on our sentence.Jesus being God overcame death and grave. Now if you will repent and and forgiveness Jesus is just and faithful to forgive you and offer pardon. read bible 1 john chapter 1.Erkhard is lost in sin ...

  • @danephillips

He's "lost in sin" and you're lost in delusion.

  • @SaveTheWheat Who lost in sin ? All are lost in sin unless we seek the one who can forgive sin. Jesus God who came in the flesh . Offer all a forgiveness Pardon from judgement ... The one in delusion is the one who thinks they will not be held accountable for those crimes of sin .Those who reject the free gift of pardon will face the judgement .John 3 but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son Jesus

  • IF Eckhart Tolle and indeed any other teachers are wrong it's simple. It would be back to a life of striving, striving, striving, and I may just use STILLNESS as a little tool just to stop and relax for a bit. Work is the same, family and friends situations are still the same, future prospects are still the same for me. So I can continue the madness of the world with a added dimension of stillness.

  • Interesting way to promote great works that the people who drive fear and debt based slavery don't want us to believe... well done lads! Getting us to look at a 'challenge' of the work to see the value of it... fantastic! Well Done! Hope to see you at the Festival of Enlightenment (.com)

  • Why talk about is Tolle wrong or right, maybe you just need to think are you wrong or right? We need to SEE WHAT IS, not BELIEVE anything.

  • @nir8vana

Yeah but you can't just choose to see something that isn't there. I mean you can for visualization purposes. But the same mechanism we use to perceive optical illusions is the one we use to go bonkers with paranoia or schizophrenia.

  • sometimes when you start to suspend identification with the mind

it will try and bring out the heavy artillery shells with thoughts like "maybe i'm becoming a mindless zealot" "maybe this spirituality stuff is all bullshit" "maybe if i totally let go of my mind, i will lose it and they'll have to put me in the loony bin" i wouldn't be too concerned about it, because who you really are witnesses even these "scary thoughts" and remains unperturbed

  • Maybe this video is these peoples ego/minds rejecting eckhart tolle trying to justify it. ANY though can be justified if you search and misinterprit.

  • you guys are great!!! Keep it up!!!

  • try it, you got inteligence, experience if it's a crap, you got to know if it is or if it's not... i mean, common sense my fellow, if you can observe your mind, then, are you the mind? maybe yes, but it's obvious that's something more beyond mind...and if there's ONE thing more beyond that you never realized before...then what more can be there to know? existence is a mistery, god is a mistery, yourself is a mistery... if not, maybe existence would be a little boring... or not?

  • The question isn't whether or not Tolle is wrong.

The question is "what IF Eckhart Tolle is wrong?"

So far nobody has even considered the question, let alone ANSWER it!

  • the thing is that it doesn't matter if he is wrong or his teachings are wrong... the finger that points to the moon is not the moon

buddha also said in the "heart sutra" that any dharma (spiritual way or spiritual teaching) is empty, not a single spiritual way is complete neither deficient... what really matters is the experience of awareness of the own ego, and that can only be donde by one way, not a teaching, doctrine or belief, just awareness

  • What if the finger is pointing at a big pile of bullshit, and telling you "it's the Moon"?

    Don't you think that matters?

Do you think it matters to Eckhart's millions of followers, whether what he says is a bunch of bullshit or not?

  • mm maybe it matters if you can not have an evidence in your personal expierence that says "yes that's the moon" ...eckhart's followers wouldn't try to figure out from mind if his teachings point to a pile of bullshit, as they follow them, they would just see where his finger is pointing.. i personally did that... and had experienced "satori" or iluminated states and also experienced the 5th dimension wich is the one that manteins the planet's orbits in their place...practicing eckhart teachings

  • @kopadenieve

Haha. No thanks on the command there.

Guess what. There are people in the world so suggestible that they will see whatever you say they see. Say "look at that chicken" and they will say "yes yes bahk buh-GAH" when there is no chicken, no egg, no *nothing* in front of them. This is what it means to be crazy. Tolle's sheep are this way. Steer clear. (it weakens your argument simply to say "they wouldn't do that!")

  • @Sockpuppet2012

    Youare correct.

  • You guys are cool, keep it up!.. I don't think Eckhart Tolle's teaching is baloney. I know how you feel about needing proof, but then you're just asking for more conceptual reference points, which can are subject to change. Tolle's teaching is all about removing the conceptual reference points, and experiencing the present moment, untainted by an illusory past and future. He's the real deal.

  • ... "removing" reference points them by seeing them for what they are, not by using aggression to push them away, or by indulging in them, or ignoring them.

  • Also whn ppl use to think the world was flat imagine telling them "no actualy the world is a ball that floats in space" they woulda thought crazy! Its incomprehensible. So there many things we Yet cannot quantify but can experience through connecting to the divine and allow knowledge to flow through our senses. you may question is ekhart right or wrong?it may not make sense now but dont deny it just cuz cant understand it. We dont understand where electricity comes from and yet we use it

  • Comment removed

  • Many things that we do not yet understand, but we feel collectively to be true. i.e. when someone is tortured, we know it feels wrong. How do we know it is wrong? because it "feels" wrong. THere is that inner connection....when you are in touch with your senses you can identify it. We don't analytically dissect why we feel wrong...we just do.

  • well see, i ask a lot of questions too. So what i do is, i look at multiple resources. If you look at Dr.Jill Bolte Taylor's biography: where her Ego part of the brain was physicalyl dammaged (remember Id, 'ego' superego' are all psychological terms). WHen her ego was dammaged, she experienced the same things ekhart talks about. Also, major religions, science, inner self experience, actual practice, deepak chopra's works, and just regular daily simple things all enhanced my insight.

  • I have found when Im becoming emotionally stressed eg with religious quaters. If I dont identify with the abuse coming my way if I dont allow my idenity/ego to stimulate the pain then I am able to have compassion for the my percieved enimies.

Then blood from my forebrain is not diverted to the reptilain hindbrain.

Thats what fear does.... Helps the blood pressure enomously. oh there so much to discuss isnt there ......

  • I wondered if its all bull.. and came to the conclusion its not.

I watched Dr Liptons 'Where mind meets matter' and he talks about all this form a hard core science perspective.

How love, the energy of love is the best way for the organisim to grow.

and I know personally if my thoughts go to a dark place i physically change and things get worse for me. When Im connected to the univesal field/matrix/source/god..with love and appreciation things unfold in a more satisying way.

  • 1st u guys a hawt, Ur creatin a dialogue based on a foundation of If... (sounds like u have doubts/ Fear). I would embrace faith in Ecka Tolle's dedicational work, Love doesn't hurt... its the truth that hurts....but even love is abound by restrictions. truth is the greatest power which steadies the earth, love is the only thing which is not bound by truth. Pure selfless love even transcends truth, when such love turns into devotion for god/universe u merge with the almighty, ur honor is saved.

  • I would say (to webisode 4) just look at the results so far of working hard and 'fighting' or 'struggeling' against things, individually or collectively. And living according to these principles doesnt mean doing easier things, you could do the same things but with an ease of the mind, its the worrying and struggeling that is given up. How do I know its not a bunch of baloney? I also feel like things are happening for me lately and at the same time I enjoy a peace of mind Ive never had before.

  • Hi guys,

very good job! The questions/doubts we are having on Tolle`s view on life are there for a reason.

I like Tolles books a lot!!! However I have the strong feeling that ONE major facet of human life is being excluded:

    SEX, SEX, SEX!!!

Tolle isin a way "anti body", "anti life".

  • Comment removed

  • Toll doesnt mention sex or bodily pleasures often but i wouldnt say that tolle is anti body or anti life. if he had to comment on that i think it would be like to anything else; sex, pleasures (drugs, whatever) are just ways you can play with form, its all a play of form, enjoy it but dont look for ultimate satisfaction/ yourself in those thinsgs.

  • I haven't read Tolle's book all the way through, but reading CH.4 - CH.6 and just trying to be present paying attention to where in my body I am feeling/thinking something while reading, I foung I had background thoughts going on, so I just stayed present with peace and did like Tolle said.: "Be present" and whoosh, it was gone. Throughout the day I just thought about what the book had said in that reading. It helped to keep me focused and I observed my responses to things.

  • sorry, i ran out of room. :)

so all of a sudden i could really SEE everything. like what eckhart talks about. i was looking at things without naming them and i could really SEE them. i've never felt so alive or happy. then that little ego voice came in. "But it can't last forever," the voice whispered to me. and just like a snowflake in the plam of my hand the bliss was gone.

i do the same thing as you. throughout the day when my mind gets too carried away. i shut it up and listen.

    -peace-

  • you guys are the best. i've got a great responce for this topic. i was listening to eckhart on cd one night and that little voice came into my head. "What if you're just wasting your time with all this?" and for a second, i really believed it. i really believed that it was all just a bunch of mumbo jumbo, then another voice chimed in, the voice of echhart tolle. he said to roll up the scroll upon which i've wirtten my life story. so i did, and for the next few seconds all was a silent bliss...

  • Yea, maybe your crazy mind is talking for a reason!

  • Excuse me if I am wrong but I don't recall Eckart Tolle saying that you have to sit on your bum and remain in meditative state all your life . From what I understand after reading his books few times, he talk about a life process that can accompany you whatever you decide to do with

your life whether you work hard in the mine or become a beach bum: you have to bring presence into it ! That's all...he never promises anybody a rose garden, he just want you to smell the roses.

  • He's mixing Hindu, Buddhist, Taoist, and Christian stuff at random, without respecting the distinctions. I dont think his book is worthless but it could be misleading to alot of people.

  • Who? People who identify with hip proper nouns?

  • What I would ask of people who dis Tolle and other teachers like him in favor of "Jesus is the only way" is can they be absolutely sure that what they're really saying is "I'm better than you because I have the truth and you don't." Because that sounds more like the ego talking rather than God. Can you really be ruthlessly honest with yourself to be able to even consider that?

  • You have to read the book again, and be completely honest with yourself, while absorbing every sentence, without filtering it through your skeptic(or thinker, or non-conformist or however you perceive yourself)'s mask. If you are not ready to understand it does not mean the teacher could be wrong. it just means you are not ready to understand.

  • you sound like an asshole!

  • you're looking for intention beyond what that dude took the time out of his day to represent to you.

  • Eckhart's book is true wisdom made available to the masses, young and old. Not through conceptual ideas (which would be impossible), but through REAL teaching. it is exactly what is needed and most important in this critical time. by suggesting that Eckhart Tolle "could be wrong" you prove that you do not understand the teachings. You missed something big, and it can't be grasped simply by knowing what all the words he uses means.

  • My own opinion is that Tolle's stuff appeals to narcissists. Yes, feeling good is great, but it's not the only thing important in life. Even the Buddhists realized that just sitting around and meditating all day doesn't really get people anywhere. In truth, there is no enlightenment. Ultimate truth is beyond even the preoccupation with the self or the non-self. Maybe it's actually God, and not just tolle's "self-God". Tolle is just getting off on thinking he's a universal messiah.

  • Doesn't sound like you read his books very closely (if at all). There's a difference between the little "me" self and the higher Self, which some may call God. Tolle is talking about the higher Self, not the little self living your private little life. And he never says you should sit around doing nothing, he says do everything you do with awareness. Tolle has said several times he doesn't want to be regarded as a guru or messiah, and that it would be very misleading and dangerous to do so.

  • I believed all that stuff Tolle writes about, 20 years ago, only by reading New Age books, practicing Yoga, etc. - and I found it is not the "way of life". You mean to come to higher consiousness, but in reality you are constantly revolving around yourself. I found the truth in the radical message of Jesus - which is true love, not "how can I live the most comfortable and painless life".

  • the way i see it, life is about exploring. You have to explore your consciousness and self. wether thats you indulging and focusing on the ego or wether its something else, you have to explore and personally i dont feel its a matter of who is right in their way of thinking and who is not because no matter what we say or what we do there is an undeniable sense of peace on that man's face that cannot be faked. and if that is what is working for him then thats amazing. i support him and am curious

  • Its OK to ask that question, or any other question. I get it at times and I dont get it at other times. When I dont get it, I lose my peace. When I get it I just know and pure peace returns and there is no point in asking a question like that. Because I know. As you do.

  • There is no point in asking what if Eckhart is wrong. The concepts can only be understood on an innate level. Basically, you either get it, or you don't. If you get it, the very idea of right and wrong go out the window, so the very question of asking "what if this is wrong" says that you don't get it.... which makes asking the question pointless, since you don't even understand the material you're questioning.

  • Yes, if it works for you fine. You don't have think in everything you think, just try it and if the results are positive make it a part of your life. I have read many spiritual and psychology books and applied techniques and new believes the ones that helped me I still use them. Your videos a very good, brainstorming this texts help to understand better. Good job! JAW

  • I watched all your videos, liked what you had to say and am so happy to see people your age starting to look at life differently than the majority. I loved The New Earth. Check out Byron Katie. All of these concepts to me have the same source. The power within that is all good.

    Thanks again.

  • Lets say I work 50h/w, all my life to get a million by age 60. Struggling, fighting my way to the finish line. All my life my mind will be focused on that future moment. Once I finally get it, do you think I will enjoy it? I know I will still want more. Why would I, who always wanted more, unsatisfied with what is, all of a sudden be able to enjoy the moment when it finally comes? Life is about now. The feeling that money can bring can be felt from having so many other "things"..now.

  • enjoying the webisodes

  • I think you guys are doing these videos mostly to get women. Especially the way the beaded one keeps staring and smiling at the camera hahaha

  • i just like to have a slow pooh.

  • Nothing of this is right or wrong. This all are concepts about reality. Its not reality. In the reality, there are no concepts, no questions, no problems. There are concepts which stops the story and bringing you back to here and now, and there are others that holding you in the story. So, this is certainly also only a concept. ;)

  • He's out to make a buck like everyone else.

  • Tolle is basically restating Heidegger's thought: he raises the question of Being to get beyond the rationalist subject-object relation to the world. Like Heidegger, he finds solace in Meister Eckhart, a medieval theologian one can call Zen Christian. Tolle defangs the dark side of Hdg. The idea of a space b/t mind and consciousness can be liberating, but it also lends itself to a surrender that can be dangerous, especially politically. What would a Tolle regime be like? It's solipcism.

  • no, Tolle is the opposite of solipsism.

  • if you define solipsism as "The theory that the self is the only thing that can be known and verified."

To Tolle, the only thing that can be known is that there is no self.

  • Interesting discussion, Tolle is right, because without going into detail,..I have had the experience of "waking up" several times in my life I am 63 and the first time was when I was 7-8,each time it happened I was sitting still minding my own business, suddenly my mind stopped and a deep feeling of bliss, love, and an awareness that all is one came over me. These have been the most blessed experiences in my life but have been obscured by my ego and mind at times. Tolle explaines it well.

  • Good question. I think you do have to look at examples in your own life in order to test if Tolle was right or not.

What you were saying about your friends who have stayed in your life is true for me too. If you try to impose your will on situations you are likely to get bad outcomes. When I have tried to force relationships in the past it's been a disaster.

Also the best indicator for me that Tolle's stuff isn't crap is at night in bed when my mind goes into overdrive. I can stop it now.

  • after watching the video.. i see what you're getting at...

i think the only proof the mind can understand is nature.. all natural things flow in a certain way. the human mind can be in or out of sync with this flow. the only way to "know" it is to be in the flow.

  • none of what eckhart writes is "his" to be wrong about. it is the spiritual wisdom that has been passed down from early man and built upon over the ages. eckhart only translates it to a 21st century audience.

  • I think that pearls (or even just a pearl) can be found even in a pile of dung. I'm learning not to throw out the baby with the bathwater.

  • hey guys, ur doing a G8 job. in my perspective i don't think Eckhart Tolle is baloney b'cos before getting to know, or read eckhar's book i have asked lot of similar questions and alway wanted to know more about why i feel the way i feel. and i did find out for myself i was creating my own suffering. the reason i believe is b'cos when i read i know i was thinking the same way and i have part of similar answers and i am finding a more clear picture through eckhart's books.

  • (Contd.)So I was expecting a reply, and when I checked my email with that expectation, I didn't get an email. I checked my email every half-hour and when I had that element of expectation during those checks, I didn't get a response. However an interesting thing happened, other important emails that didn't occupy my mind started streaming in. I decided to take a break. I restarted my computer a little later and my mailbox (gmail) opened up with a new mail when I didn't expect it at all Try it.

  • How do we know this is not baloney?

    Pg 137 - Tomorrow's God - Neale donald walsch.

This page talks about expectations. The act of having an expectation pushes it away into the future. Now, how do we know this isn't baloney?

Well try it out for yourself, don't just believe it and then from that act of trying out, believe in it if it turns out true.

How do you check this expectation thing?

I sent out an email to a close friend. And ofcourse, I was "expecting" a reply. (Contd....)

  • i like what you guys are doing, signed up, and it is true there is always that nagging thought in the back ground that it is always some bs, but I believe the best way to find if all of this is true would be through personal experiences. I personally witness alot less strain, alot less stress for example when i had to do a speech for college, and well, i think when you just allow things to be and juts say yes to the present, synchronicities just happens...

  • I think it's a great idea that you guys are citing the comments of the earlier webisodes. Eckhart Tolle mentioned in many of his webcasts with Oprah that the mind will not be able to analyze whether all this is true or not. He speaks alot of having or feeling a deep "knowing" of the truth. When you enter into this "stillness" you will "know" the truth. It is simply being "still and know that I am God". Again, the egoic mind will never be able to analyze what is truth or not.

  • whether the fool is the believer or the non-believer also does not matter.. they are both in their own paradise.. they both follow what they believe in..both have their doubts, self doubts and fears along the way and both carry on nevertheless..sorry, couldn't help ranting ..but good work fellas.. you have raised a very pertinent question which forms the very heart of spiritual practice.. but if i am a fool then SO BE IT..that is my answer..

  • nice try guys but do you realise your question is the holy grail itself? if a sureshot way to find out if this is all baloney could be found, why, then if it is not, you have found the answer to what is enlightenment itself, in effect enlightenment itself!!! and it is all baloney, then you have found out the boundary of limitations of the human mind, in effect the end goal of mankind itself!! in any case paradise is paradise, even if it is fools paradise..
