  • Go Dickey Go!!!

  • Dickey needs to make up with Greg & make the ABB complete!

Either Derek or Warren can do the 'other part"... VERY WELL!

  • Dam Dickies son is a bad ass on the guitar as well.

  • He's so good it's scary....drunk, stoned or sober...he's simply one of the smoothest sounding players ever to pick up a guitar. Saw him solo at the Moonshadow Saloon in Decatur in the early 80's...AWESOME

  • @gittahfriend - Dickey is a drunk, not a druggie. Besides, he couldn't possibly do more smack than Gregg !!

  • Good to see D B playing a Gibson again

  • Duane's solo rules!

  • We got a great deal in Columbus, Ohio in winter of '09. Three shows for $35.00! George Thorogood, Dickie Betts, & Buddy Guy! Shows were 2-3 weeks apart in the same small venue. Buddy walked up to wife standing at the bar & played for her when he walked away she slipped between Buddy & body guard, She made it til they were ready to go back on stage, they politely asked her to back off & she did.

  • I have seen The ABB with Dickey 8 times and he blew me away with every performance.you are are right he aint no joke.

  • Just think I seen this cat in 1971 when his six gn was fully loaded!Justin Beiber show up on stage with this legend?you little "PUSSIE"!

  • Not a single strat on the stage, HMMMmmmmm = b...

  • FABULUS - thnx - tht kinda mojo stays a lifetime - world treasure

  • He's still got the Mojo

  • There is nothing better than the original. Dickey is de mann !!

  • so sub par, its gotta suck when your band kicks you out and you still play their songs, come on richard do something else

  • @mbartist actually dickey wrote many of their hit songs, and his guitar paid for just about everything greg allman ever owned.

  • yes sir ,thats what i'm talkin about.........

  • Dickey was always a great guitarist. Still,I can't help but think that the spirit of Duane was always on his shoulder. The constant comparisons and questions of "what if" had to have been an inspiration or goad. In any case Dickey fully rose to the occasion and became one of the true "Greats" of guitarists ever. Chicken or the egg". He doesn't get the respect he deserves.

  • @ReniganStSur I agree with you all the way bro, anyone can listen to his solo for Blue Sky on the live at Sunny in NY can say thats got to be one of the all time great solo's, plus the band follow's him effortlessly which show's how great he is. He is one of my all time favorites hands down

  • Play it Dickie !

  • The fact is,, Betts WAS the Allman brothers after Duane passed! If you don't think so,, just see how good the band would be without: Memory of Eliz. Reed, Ramblin man, "Southbound", Blue sky, Jessica, and a lot more! He really WAS the Allman brothers,, no disrespect for Gregg at all,, he was the other half, the best darn blues singer, ever! Fact!

  • The ABB are long gone, Betts dont look like he is need of anything......just making money, touring and jamming and the guys in his 60's.....wow, nothing wrong with that......why do all these nut job fans want to see them all together again......at his age, he can do what he wants......how can you be kicked out of something that was finished a long time ago ?

  • The Allmans? Where would he fit in? He can't replace Warren or Derrick. 3's a crowd

  • @TJMikolich I hope you're joking...or maybe you need to do a little research on Dickey and The Allman Brothers.

  • Last time I saw Dickey with the Allman Bros was mid 90's in Charlotte, NC. It was awesome!!

  • Great sound DIckey! Does anyone know what Marshalls he is using there? They look like JCM 800's maybe......? He should still be with the Allmans -without doubt!

  • Andy Alerdort****** Kicking some ES 335 Ass and sliding that Mutha!!!

  • LOL 2:40 he checks his watch xD

  • how many alb left get it dickey

  • As a life-long Allman Bros.fan, for my money, the Allmans will NEVER be the same without Dickey. To me, it's the equal of not having Gregg Allman. I truly respect Mr. Derek Trucks ability, however, he will NEVER fill dickey's shoes in the Allmans, in my eyes And his stage presence compard to Dickey SUCKS!.

  • @17drumhead You got that right. Today's Allman Brothers Band, to me, sounds more like a tribute band. With Duane AND Dickey gone and Otiel (who is a great bass player but Allman Brothers? Maybe) sounding way different than Berry Oakely (Allen Woody often would play close to Berry's style) it just ain't the same. I don't go anymore. Yeah Warren and Derek are great guitars players but without Dickey it just doesn't sound like the Allman Brothers except sometimes the drummers give that vibe a bit.

  • should of held that camera closer to the amp :D!

  • Fantastic.. Di ckey rules. His son Duane is very good too but he has kind of a weird stage presence

  • betts is 1 of the best

  • OMG.....!!!!!!!!

  • Best chicken picker on the planet.

  • Dickey is the only good thing about this performance.

  • Dickey was the HEART and SOUL of The ABB for so many years..Shame they cant get back together for the FANS sake...

  • That train could crash in my town anytime! Hope Warren is on board too.

  • TRAIN KEPPA ROLLIN ALL NIGHT LONG

  • this is a train wreck.

  • @je713 a bit harsh my man

betts fronting his own thing is moonshine

some batches (takes) are just not going to distill out

the way you like - rotgut

betts fronting abb? that still cooked 'shine made your eyes

water and your belly burn but in the best way possible

dicky's fire needed to be reigned in somehow - gregg

jai joihnny and butch could corral the forrest fire (ugh bad pun

    unavoidable)

dicky truly was a comet - blazing away into the night sky

  • Dickey ain't no JOKE ! he should be back with the ABB

  • @gittahfiend Well, if he could pass the drugtest he might be considered, but I fear he would not pass the test:-/ Search for "Dickey Betts 2011" and you'll find a intervies with the man where he is all drugged up. Truly sad to see, but nontheless....;-( Even so, Mr. Betts is one of the greatest ever! A true hidden American treasure!!

  • @gittahfiend NO SHIT SHERLOCK! HE WAS THE BEST GUITARIST THE ALLMAN BROS EVER HAD.I KNOW DUANE WAS GREAT BUT LET'S CALL APPLES APPLES AND YOU KNOW THE REST.JUST SEEN THE GREG ALLMAN SHOW FROM STURGS AND BOY WAS THAT LAME.I WISH THESE GUYS WOULD FUCK THE DUMB SHIT, AND GET BACK TOGETHER AND USE DICKEYS SON.THAT WOULD BE REALLY COOL.DICKEYS A PICKIN' FOOL! I LOVE HAYNES AND TRUCKS BUT THIS WOULD BRING IT BACK AROUND. THEY WOULD SELL OUT SHOWS EASILY.HOOK US UP GUYS.WE NEED IT! I

  • God bless ya Dickie, thanks for years of ear candy brother......His sound is unmatched in this style of music,

  • Front Row very cool

  • Awesome....and this from a man who is 65 years old...I hope I'm still around at that age :))

  • seen him in chattanooga in 2002,....amazing

  • One word...WOW

  • Dickey Betts' still one of the greatest, and Great Southern is a fantastic band!
