Rather than voting like it is some kind of game, I vote for the person or party whose policies I agree with the most. At this stage it is the greens, such as an emphasis on public transport, public education and above all the defence of human rights.

Michael Gobachov in an American interview in the mid 80's was asked about the demise of Communism under Glasnost.
He replied I would not go as far as to say that.
Under the peace movement we had limited success but under the GREEN movement we expect total success.
he was later appointed head of the international green movement till he retired a couple of years ago.

It's true that if the Greens had the balance of power the Senate would be less hostile to the Rudd Labor Government.
However the same can be said if the now dying Democrats and/or independents held the balance of power.
The Senate would even be less to hostile to a Labor Government if Labor controlled the Senate.
