I followed his way, I train my dog his way, and.. I think it worked pretty well. My dog is very well-behaved and he's obviously NOT paying attention to me simply because he's scared. I don't want to take part on this argument, but this is scaring me.. I'm a first-time dog owner and the first dog training tips I read is Cesar's tips. I followed his way, I train my dog his way, and.. I think it worked pretty well. My dog is very well-behaved and he's obviously NOT paying attention to me simply because he's scared. In my opinion its a matter of getting your timing right regardless of what method you are using. For example, several studies show that the confrontational methods shown on DW induce aggression. You see this often, which is why Millan is always getting bit or using something to protect himself. Other studies show punishment increases reactivity and separation anxiety.

I was ridiculously prosecuted & found guilty of “causing serious injury through neglect” 5 years ago when my dog attacked a 12YO girl in a local park. She was totally stupid, playing in an area where dogs are often run free & not looking out for them.

German Shepherds have been breed for centuries (before the modern The German Shepherd Dog breed was instigated) for the complicated job of herding and guarding sheep (including keeping sheep out of high value vegatable crops (more interesting to sheep than grass) and protecting the sheep, often without human supervision.
