@TheOnedeal yes I always thought it was Andy Gibb. I would pass the door taking a shortcut to get to class. That room was always blasting Adam Ant. I guess I was too busy listening to Run DMC back when rap was worth listening to.
When I was in college there was a power station poster on a dorm door and someone wrote under Robert Palmer's pic...if he calls, DON'T HANG UP! I never got it...until now...that was 25 years ago, ha!
Robert looking very Pride-era there. So he must have been recording Riptide around the time of this video? It would explain the great lack of him and massive use of stock footage.
thanks so much for posting this song 203361. RIP Robert Palmer. on second thought-i hope you're jamming with the likes of john lennon, george harrison and michael jackson for eternity. see you when i get up there!
yes! the video sucks they could've done better does'nt take away that this is a F-----G asskicking song R.i.P. robert still hard to accept you are no longer with us!
John Taylor is one of the best bass players ever. But, unfortunately, he has never gotten the credit he deserves. I think his prettyboy image and Duran Duran's videos and mostly female following covered this up.
Thanks so much for posting this. This is my second favorite Power Station track. [My favorite is "Some Like it Hot"]. RIP Robert Palmer and Tony Thompson.
easy inspiration, duran duran members refunded, video cool

They should have filmed the video in Miami & got Michael Mann to direct.

Robert Palmer looks like Tony Danza in this video...

Not fond of the video, in complete awe of the album - even songs that never got close to a radio, like "Still in your Heart" are just phenomenal.

lol the audio sounds like the radio in the '76 Pontiac my folks bought me before I turned 15!
