The world population is constantly growing; hence competition in the job market is becoming more fierce than ever. With so many job applicants, it saves recruiters some time by looking at applicants with only college degrees.
You do not have to go to college, you can CHOOSE not to go! I am attending because I want an education. Kids of rich families who can afford the tuition for likely no financial return who want to study sociology or art history will go to a traditional university. Kids who want to learn practical skills will go to a technical college or community college. I think you'll see colleges that are much more focused on skills (and are much cheaper) than we have in the past.

Colleges have nothing to do with getting a job. They simply provide the subject matter, instruction and diploma and degrees upon completion.
Getting a job is up to you once you graduate.
A plumber knows how to fix pipes-is he educated?
A mechanic knows how repair cars-is he educated?
They are skilled self-employed people.
If people dont want to go to college but find a way to make decent money, get trades like these but stop whining about college.
