  • What a terrific treat! I believe the most brilliant gifts are not meant for most households.

  • A brilliant sense of pop craftsmanship, XTC should have been household names.

  • so kind of you to share. really enjoyed the rare performance and photographs. thank you very much for this.

  • Ah, yeah! KROQ With Dusty?I had this taped back in the day.Its gone. So glad to hear it again. Hope Blue Barret is included. How do I download? Or can I?

  • @kellielovesroger

It was with Raechel Donahue on a Sunday afternoon, I was ironing my work shirts listening to KROQ and lucky me I had a cassette in my player and hit the record button at the start of the little concert the boys played for us lucky souls in So Calif. All good with Raechels comments, She was swooning.

  • Andy Partridge has a pretty big vocal range. I sing and play Dear God pretty well on guitar. But can anyone hit those high As?!! I can't. 'But the PEO-ple that you made in your image...' It is only possible if I sing the whole thing an octave lower.

  • Why woudlny XTC play DEAR GOD on Television? Why did they turn against the song right after they released it?

  • A little more info on it...I was able to buy the two disk 45 when it came out. Acoustical Oranges & Lemons Live on KROQ FM, Los Angeles May 29, 1989

Side one--Scarecrow People, Mayor of Simpleton

Side two--Medley:Senses Working Over Time, Grass, Love on a Farmboy"s Wages

Side three--Blue Beret, Medley:Great Fire, Dear God, Big Day

Side four--King for a Day, Medley:Rock the Boat, Hungry Heart Beats, Welcome to the Garden of Earthy Delights

  • this is from the k rocking in pasedena bootleg it was preforme dlive from the acoustic tour in 1989

  • By the way, where and when was that recorded ? Does that, by any chance, exist on CD ?

  • you can only get it from limewire i believe thats where i got it.

  • There's a bootleg CD (I know it by the title Acoustic Tales) that compiles this and other recordings from that '89 radio station tour.
