He's talking about corporations and their lobbied tools in congress (all republicans today and the DINOs) about privatizing public services.
How stupid can someone be to think a private for-profit company (with CEOs paid more than the Catholic Church has in the value of their artifacts) will actually provide any "service" to the American people for less than our Government?
Answer? Oust Obama and his cronies, keep green project research alive, invest in oil so that we can create more jobs and lowr the overall living cost in this country. Lower fuel ost equals lower everything else cost. Simple.
Additionally I'd like to point out that the president's plan for green energy based ecomics for our future, although not entirely bad, has produce far less results in terms of job creation than has big oil. Look at the amount of jobs the new oil discoveries in the Dakotas have created. The unemployment there is at 3.5% a full 4.7% lower than the national average. Now you tell me the next step we should take...
Lol. Here's the thing. Social security is now bankrupt. The current administration has spent a total o 6.8 billion dollars. This is borrowed and printed money. Not earned money. And it is more spent than all presidential administrations in history prior. And we only have 2000,000 jobs to show for it? Something is not right...
@mpdonohue7: You want to step outside, pussy? No, you're the type of coward that likes to talk all kinds of shit online but can't back it up. Any time, mp. Any time.
If Obama had any balls...he would say something like this...in a similar manner: "There are 3rd world countries with better infrastructure than we have, we need to update it, and its going to cost money. The GOP will tell you they can do it just be cutting spending, and no new taxes....READ MY LIPS...no new taxes."
I hope Obama gets impeached over the Fast and Furious screw up. But just like these scumbags in power someone else will have to take the fall for more of their bad decisions, but maybe they can blame that on Bush too.
@mpdonohue7 If a drunk driver accidentally kills your mother...and he/she goes to jail for say...10 years...are you going to stop blaming him/her after those 10 years? I'm thinking not. Therefore...why should Bush not get blamed for starting two unfunded wars and increasing our debt?
Now...Obama could certainly be doing a better job of fixing it...But Bush should still get blamed for what he did wrong...just as much as he can get praised for what he did right.
@jwace it only took Obama 2 yrs to put us way way further in debt then Bush did in 8yrs. If Obama did have balls he would stop using Bush as his fall back excuse every time a decision goes bad for him. We will always be @ war w/ someone. Bring them home and start rebuilding our infrastructure They all need to look ahead and not behind especially to another socialist from 75yrs ago.
@mpdonohue7 I agree to bringing them home and putting everyone to work with regard to infrastructure...but we SHOULD NOT always be @ war (in fact we should be trimming our military). And when has Obama used Bush as a fall back recently? I believe Regan blamed Carter for almost the entire 8 years of office. Throw the socialist word around all you want...but if the man who is constantly considered one of the greatest presidents of all time is a socialist...perhaps we need more of them.
@mpdonohue7 FDR outlawed the hoarding of gold, which was going on early in the Depression. He also saved the country from complete collapse by opposing the exact types of policies that Republicans still advocate today. Perhaps the real piece of shit is the one between your ears.
@DocNietzsche I never doubted that he did great things but he also did screw up as well and forcing people to turn it their riches is just wrong. You can try and make yourself feel better all you want saying it is or was a party that screwed things up. I would be happy w/ a leader that didn't lie! Just like that stupid fuckin nigger ass president you obviously voted for. How's that change working out for ya dick breath!
@mpdonohue7 What a class act you are...and a perfect example of the Republican Party. How's the change working?? Pretty damn well I'd say! With Bush gone, we can focus on more important issues than his useless wars! I sure did vote for Obama and will do so again. He's not perfect, but he's a HELL of a lot better than what the Republicans are offering!!
the delayed smile at the end, punctuating the most sarcastic yet factually correct political statement EVER MADE....the most accurate portrayal of the exclamation point I have ever seen........PERFECT!!!!
...And the Republicans: "We're affluent because we follow the Gospel of Prosperity. You others are poor because God doesn't love you; because it's your racial heritage; because you're lazy....or because you don't have rich relatives." Life must be blissful. I'm happy for your physical comforts. I pity you your heart of flint.
Some things never change. It is the Democratic Party who not only CARES about the working poor, but is willing to roll up its sleeves and DO something about their plight!
@pmginkc Ah yes, the wonderful Democrats, who have convinced us that we need political parties and social programs to help the poor, thereby absolving us of any personal responsibility or even choice in the matter. "Just give us your tax dollars and we'll find a better way to spend them." Never mind the waste, ineffectiveness, or abuse of these entitlement programs, nor the fact that our country is going bankrupt because of them.
@chrswlf They are today, but like so many gov't programs that's not how they were originally sold. What was supposed to be a social safety net has now become America's national retirement program. Again, where is the personal responsibility here to plan for your retirement? We're witnessing the results right now of what happens when entitlement overcomes responsibility.
@pierrelecelibataire You know people who retire solely on Social Security? I sure couldn't. In any event, the program is paid for -- solvent -- for the next 25 years.
@pierrelecelibataire A government with a fiat currency and $2T in tax revenue goes bankrupt by choice, not by necessity. You need to know how Social Security works to even have this conversation: tinyurl dot com slash 3qtw9py
@chrswlf I am afraid it is you who need the lesson in basic economics, & it sounds like you need to study the environment FDR was speaking in as well. For countries with fiat currencies there is bankruptcy by inflation. Ask Germany how well hyperinflation worked out for them post WWI, or more recently Argentina or Zimbabwe. Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, welfare, and our current level of defense spending are all unsustainable. Until you accept that there is no conversation to be had.
@chrswlf Sure it is. Go have a conversation with Ben Bernanke and then tell me who has the real power over monetary policy. You must also be naive enough to believe what Obama said about 100% tax rates being theoretically possible so long as the benefits provided by the government outweight the costs. I'm content to leave this conversation here as you apparently embrace the whole paternal/socialistic government philosophy. "It is difficult to free people from the chains they adore." - Voltaire
@chrswlf Are you still talking? I'll let the current crisis and future events speak to who is out of their element, though I expect you will be as uncomfortable with the facts then as you are now.
