Yes, but only if Shelby Made a Shelby Version of the car. For example Shelby didn't make Shelby mustangs during the time of 1971-2005. The Cobra R is a 2000.

The Cobra R is sadly Not a Shelby. It's strictly the master work of Ford's SVT (Special Vehicle Team). Also my Dream Car. Awesome Video!

rx isnt taking full advantage of its power to weight ratio, he can brake alot later into the corner

The difference is less than 300kg if the cobra is untouched, and the cobra R had excellent brakes. Also Shelby had nothing to do with the 2000 cobra R, it was SVT's brainchild.

Cobra R isn't nearly as balanced.

Cobra R: 3600 lbs/1633 kg

RX-7: 2800 lbs/1270 kg

363 kg/600 lbs difference. That is a lot. The Cobra also has a 55:45 (front:rear) weight distribution. The RX-7 has 50-50. The center of gravity on the RX-7 is also much lower than the Cobra. The RX-7 should have had it in the turns a hundred times in this, but it all comes down to driver.

They also passed an EVO early on. 1st vette, not a Z06. Second one, I couldn't tell. But that's no stock Cobra R either. In a stock comprison, the '01 Z06 beat the Cobra R on the track. Yet this one took the C5s very easily.

BTW- SHELBY didn't come back to Ford until 2006 with the GT500. The 2000 Cobra R was All Colletti and SVT- not Shelby.
