You should finish this video with the current property - and when the condo's are done you should show those as well. Don't forget the taxes and dollars that tourists are paying to improve things such as roads and schools on the island.

It seems ignorance and arrogance combined with a liberal dose of greed can turn any paradise into Honolulu. Paradise will soon be completely paved. I am glad I can hold pleasant memories of my trip to Dawn Beach because that was my last trip. I hate running into other travelers, mostly Americans, that want to visit a lovely island but still have McDonalds, KFC, and a 24hr Supermarket.

How hard would it have been for Westin to develop a hotel with minimal intrusive impact on the beach? Clear cutting is the cheapest and fastest way to build and unfortunately that's what happened. What these hotel suits don't realize is that they have built something that already exists throughout the Caribbean - a thoughtful development showcasing the beauty of the area would have been far more appealing to tourists (like me) than the obscene monstrosity they built. I hope it fails miserably.

Think Hurricanes.
They used dynotmite to 'dig' into the rock. The vibrations alone will have upset the rock there.
So, with new gaps in the rock, when there is a hurricane with lots of rain, you get the water flooding the valley.

As a st.maartener living abroad I can tell you the island is quickly loosing its "paradiso" appeal.
What is happening is called quantity over quality.
Its a shame really but its too far gone to recover from it now......
Oh well, soon enough SXM will be like another miami of hawaii or virgin islands....just another water park
