The majority of these refugees (90% of them) are Kunama Eritreans & the only reason why they are there is because when the war broke out, much of the fighting happened on their Eritrean land. When Ethiopia invaded Eritrea over an internationally ruled Eritrean city of Badme, the Kunama people were forced to flee in every dierctions as refugees. Some fled to Sudan, others to the 4th poorest country on Earth (Ethiopia) & the sheer majority fled to deeper parts of Eritrea.
