  • lol 1:15 they bring out cash bricks worth $1m in a toilet paper box

  • Stu himself said there "I hope so". He lost the fight against the addiction. Sad, but what a great player he was.

  • After all these years, Gabe has not changed.

  • @sportsfever420 yes...he's as boring as ever!

  • @sportsfever420

Jews never change, the Masons still rule this reality as you have been manufactured to perceive. You are an undetectable psychological Monarch programmed slave bitch. :)

  • stu miss u

  • RIP Stuey.

  • Wow, look at all that money - and a gold bracelt to boot! :)

  • then stu blew all the money on cocaine!!!

  • Its called a donk bet. Betting into the aggressor. DONK BET!

  • @GOLDSILVERDUDE Not always. If you have 66 and you have a feeling your opponent has AK AQ kind of hand and flop comes 5-8-2 you might want to bet oop to protect your hand, if you just called big bilnd PF and then called the AK/AQ late raise PF.

  • "no-one ever beat me at cards; the only one who ever beat me was myself'' - Stu Ungar

If he never had have got into drugs and all that shit, who knows how much he could have achieved at poker - he would have been a superstar today.

  • can i get that 300$ that you borrowed from me six years ago? :D

  • Cocaine... that goddamned, fucking, stupid shit, cocaine... it simply fucked up Stu Ungar's life.

It truly depresses me, just how much raw, fucking talent was pissed away......... and doubt we will ever see again.

Stu Ungar @ poker = winner

Stu Ungar @ life = loser

  • @1Two9Face8Tony5 yea, but you know, it's cocaine's fault

  • @1Two9Face8Tony5 Cocaine loves talent, and talent LOVES COCAINE!

  • @Koopatroopa01 ...cocaine loves the weak, and only losers love it back......

  • "no one can beat me at cards."

fuck, i hate how hes dead. such a fucking great player.

  • i dont know why ppl say he sucked out. i think he knew his opponent had an ace; a weak ace and was trying get him off his hand. thats why he shoved him all in, hoping to take the pot right there. and if he was called, he had out to hit his inside straight draw. when he gets called, you can see he aint thrilled about it, cos he thought he could get the retard to fold a weak ace. thats my interpretation of it, anyway. lol.

  • @EdDy4RheelZ

Stuey could have also hit an ace for a tie.

  • Typical we got a million dollars bring in a toilet paper box! Gabe is Hilarious!!!

  • Goodwill : EPIC FAIL about Stu, obviously you dont know anything about StuUngars supreme poker playing prowess, and you tongue-hoovering TomDwan does you no favours, your case has just fallen apart, NEXT!

  • True, true, he was a genius, a awesome poker player with massive realizations but I don't think he would've made the same amount of money like Dwan or other internet poker fenoms... In these days poker changed a lot, the WSOP field is a lot bigger and the players are generally better and don't shove like that smartass that finished 3rd with second pair.

  • 1box of money lol anno 2010 they need 10man 2 bring all the money

  • awesome!

  • Yeah he was apparently the worlds best gin player, I don't even know what is gin and probably still the best poker player there is.

  • @trimcon5357

Ahah. can we play soon my FTP name is zelkarta6484 =D

    And yes

You might have seen multiple pros sharin all over their facebook wall currently ya could create an account usin the bonus code AMERICAS at Full Tilt Pokers web site.

Its a great promotional deal. Make a deposit and they DOUBLE it oh and multiple other excellent perks. Sucks but its limited to the first 4500 people that create an account using it

  • R.I.P. Stu Ungar.

  • its not luck , its ODDS and OUTS, read the comment above made by " eddy4rheelz ", and ask anyone whos been around poker and seen stuey play close up for many years, he was the best with an uncanny knack for cards and reading people, he earned over $30 million dollars before he was 45 years old, just factor in the inflation and that is phenominal and a man with a masterful record, anyone who questions Stu UNgar and his ability need to wake up n smell the coffee......and learn more about Stuey !

  • How can people say this guy is good? He gets it in bad and sucks out. Ya, he's awesome.

  • @JohnnieNaked i hope to God you're a troll. he is the greatest player to have ever lived, do some research about him. he can memorize +10 decks of blackjack, he is unbeatable in gin. and will tell you your cards before he beats you if you're not a pro.

  • @ThisIsACakeWalk And yet he gets it in bad and hits...

  • @JohnnieNaked because u dont know much about poker as u think u do ;)

making that comment is basicly saying "hey sorry im poker noob, but like to say something on youtube"

  • Esk1zo, more like: how the hell did he get so lucky!

  • stuey freaking ungar, greatest ever...sorry john strzemp, but stuey pwned you so bad, he turned top pair into a bluff on the flop. terrible call with only an 8 kicker, by the way.

  • великий игрок вечная ему память!!

  • that face at 4:30 is priceless "how the hell did he know..."

  • the greatest ever......

  • What did the other guy have

  • @mattbenz99 A 5

  • stu ungar, much loved by many people, a man of tremendous ability and warm personality, he had a loving family and a feast of friends, unique and special in every way, greatly missed and always remembered.

  • this really made me sad to know that such a great a person left us...what a great card player!! RIP

  • i am very sad, that he is not with us anymore! such a great person, and great player!

  • 5:45 onward, so sad...

  • kaplan rules, real funny guy :)

  • lol Kaplan

  • if only stu had made it into this era, the ultimate superstar and the ultimate talent, would you bet against him? r.i.p stuey.

  • can i get that 600 dollars back i lent you? lol gabe still has the same jokes now as he did 12 years ago...

  • And yet he also won in 1980 and 1981 and I think you need a little more than just luck to win 3 time!

  • yup

  • very brilliant and very addicted to everything

  • They bring out the million dollars in a toilet paper box....hahahahahahahahah

  • Легенда)

  • Легенда покера!!!!!!!!!

  • massterra is correct " negelcted my kid" is what stuey said, he loved his daughter dearly , of course.

  • tmotleygoldstein, He doesn't say he fucked up his kid....He says, " I neglected my kid"......

  • did stu say "I fucked up my kid" at the end in reference to his son's suicide? I didn't notice it the first few times I watched this, and I still can't tell if he says it for sure.

  • kaplins comment at the end is classic

  • even though stu fucked up his own life you know he was one of those guys with a good heart who through money every which way.

i bet hanging out with him back in the day would have been cool as fuck.

i knew a guy like him, think he is dead now too. great fucking guy, but people who live on the edge don't give a fuck, so i don't bother trying to reel them in. even though its sad to see them go, you know that nobody is gonna change the way they live their life.

  • Announcers made a mistake when they said "a tre won't do it". That 3 on the turn gives LOT of outs for Stuey to split the pot. All he needed was any card higher than 8 to split the pot. Therefore, Stu's outs to win or split the pot increased from 7 outs on flop to 29 outs on the turn since Stu can hit 2 3s to split the pot with full house, 4 2s to win with a straight, 3 4s to win with higher two pair, 4 9s, 4 tens, 4 jacks, 4 queens, 4 kings, to split by counterfeiting strempz's 8 kicker.

  • good one!

  • @EdDy4RheelZ During a random hand in a televised cashgame not mentioning the increasing chance for a split pot would be a mistake. This could be the last hand of the Main Event so it's only natural the announcer's only thinking about the cards that can win it for Stu, and he's right. 3's not gonna do it.

  • @EdDy4RheelZ also an Ace would make them both aces full, mr. youtube pro... But the announcers didn't make a mistake, they said that a tre won't do it and it didn't - they didn't say that it didn't make him more outs - just that that particular card wouldn't win the pot for Stuey and they were right..

  • All in

  • Sorry but WHERE or WHEN does it show Johns hand?

I know stuey has A4 off suit, but what does John call ALL IN with?

  • My bad

It shows u Johns hand but not that clearly

Then the announcer kindly tells us "John`s got A8...."

    LOL

  • As 8, they show it

  • Comment removed

  • ace 8

    i think

  • it always gets me when gabe says "stuey is back look out next year," at the end

  • Who's better than Stuey? Doyle Brunson?

In Super/System, Doyle basically says to make the same type of play as Stuey. He has top pair with a weak kicker. He also knows his man, an amateur, is probably going to intimidated. He wanted to win the pot right there, but if he DOES get called he has the straight draw and the two pair draw. And then after the turn he could hit any card from 9 to A for a split.. It was the right move, no matter how you look at it.

  • stu ungar is so accomplished and dynamic at card-playing i am almost literally tongue-tied...........and what a man!

  • 2 of his 3 wins he catches a wheel on

the river. The other against Doyle in

    1980. WOW

  • Great texas hold em player. Greatest Gin player that ever lived. RIP Stu

  • Gabe's cool....

  • Like sroyle said Stuey was way ahead on this hand and btw stuey had plenty of chips left even if he lost this hand knowing that he is a heads-up expert, no way the amateur would come over the top to win the tourney.

  • the odd and variables are pheneominal as ever, stuey surmounts these with a poker wisdom, daring insight and flawless artistry, if only he was still with us, enriching our lives.

  • Heads up with an ace high hand and hitting the flop is great. John had ace 8 so stuie was beat on the flop! but dont forget stuie also had the ace and the chance of a straight hitting the 2 on the turn or river. john could of folded after stuies raise but his ace 8 was good so he didnt.stuie had 8 outs pluss the chance of a fold from his bet. stuie rules and yes it was poker in the making nothing is certain

  • iI was wrong with my outs of stuie he had 7 outs not 8

  • he is an legend..u r just a p i m p ..sp just keep u r bloody advices to urself

  • Just because someone gets lucky one time doesn't mean he's no good. Stu Ungar owned the tournament and for this one time luck just happened to help.

    It's called gambling.

  • Even if Stu lost this hand, he would still have chip lead over Strempz. And plz, Stu was chip leader throughout the whole tournament and he murdered everyone in the table. Strempz got to where he is because he made huge suckout against Ron Stanley while Stu accumulated his chips through skills by bluffing Ron Stanley from a huge pot.

  • yep, john didn't have a chance!

  • look the face of idiot at 4:30 kakakaka lol

  • million in cash in a toilet paper box

    haha

  • Stuey is the Kurt Cobain of poker!!!! My freakin idol!!

  • What an icon, this guy would be so big if he was alive today.

  • If he never would've touched cocaine he'd have atleast 15 bracelets by now probably more.

  • and maybe 100M....

  • How did stu ungar die? They were talkin about him being young.. He looked like a man who liked drugs, was that the case?

  • Just look at his nose! Like he said, his bad habits killed him!

  • anyone know where i can find the footage of stu beating doyle brunson for his first world title? there are some brief shots of it in the waop main event preview show, but i have always been curious to see more

  • Look out next year.... if only they knew.. RIP Stuey

  • Stu got lucky? LOL, Strempz deserved it. He pulled that 1-outer against Ron Stanley with pocket 10s against pocket Aces and it was 1-outer since Mel Judah folded his 10. LOL. Luck doesn't explain why Stu won main event 3 times and 5 times in WSOP and Amarillo Slim's Super Bowl of Poker(although that organization is dead now). Professionals never see this game as luck. They call it "outs". And in this case, Stuey had LOT more outs than Strempz's 1-outer. Stuey had 7-outer.

  • not that its relevant but Strempz had tens vs kings not aces

  • yeah. sorry about that. slight error in my comment. it was 10s vs kings. But either way, Kings/Aces vs 10s was like 80:20 or like 85:15 since Judah folded the 10, getting rid of one of Strempz's outs.

  • Since he only had one out he would have 6,89% chance to hit a set he would have the highest flush 1,95% of the time and the straight at 2,65% of the time leaving his winning chances at 11,49% or a 89 to 11 underdogg making his win a very lucky one... Not a bad play with tens though

  • Wrong, he had more outs:

    4 deuces

    3 fours

=7 outs = 30% chance to hit the winning hand on the turn or river. In other words, basically a flush draw or openended straight draw --> Not so extremely lucky

  • 10 years for Stuey, 11-22-98

The only one of his kind. God rest you Stuey.

  • notice when the duece comes Strzemp looks at the card, then gives stuey a funny look?

  • He got lucky there John really fooled him

  • Greatest player ever.

  • stu's the man r.i.p.

  • Some 1 said the cards were rigged back in those days..

  • Why would they be rigged back then and not now? Nowadays, the days of media exposure, explosive action, action replays and instant gratification through high speed internet porn. Who said that to you? Clearly a fucking moron.

  • ayoudell you have to remember stu ungar was a autistic savant -making him a genius at maths / figures he also had a perfect memory - this combined with his card skills = the best / one of the best players. no other poker player in the world is capable of this. he alone would know on odds what chance he has of winning

  • no..he was a savant..not autistic..if he was autistic he wouldnt have bsic motor skills etc.. he was just a savant..not autustic.

  • I think gabe actually meant he wants his $600 back..lol

  • Either way it turns out the same, I don't see John folding Ace 8 to that board. I think Stu took too long to act there. John had to figure his medium ace was good there, as he instacalled. Stu makes a fabulous bluff in part 3 against solid player Ron Stanley. Check it out if you haven't seen it. I wish there was more footage availible of this legendary player. I would study the hell out of it!(oh, and to John's credit, he handles the beat there pretty gracefully!)

  • i dnt think we need to credit john there with handing the beat gracefully.he already hit a 1 outer and he didnt handle tht very gracefully slamming the table.stuey deserved the title.if stuey was alive hellmuth would not lead the bracelet leader board..

  • Stu is my favorite player, because of his legacy, but I realize I play a different style than him. When John led out, Stu put him on an ace, because earlier when he was talking to Gabe and Phil he made a comment how John always bet hard with top pair. Stu obviously didn't like his kicker, but chose to put the pressure on in typical Stuey style. I probably just call the flop, hoping John checks the turn(even if I catch the 2 or 4). Stu made a comment John rarely bet the turn.

  • Can I get that get that $300 back that I lent you six years ago? ROTFL!! Gabe was probably only half joking!

  • looks totally 80s

cant believe it only 10 years ago

  • numero 1 in assoluto

  • Thanks for uploading these.

  • Kind of spooky when Gabe said: "Look out next year." Poor Stuey

  • It's so cool to see the myth playing

  • That was really touching when Stu talked about his daughter. He said he'd win the tournament for her so she'd go on loving him. Very sweet but also sad. I saw an interview with his daughter recently, and it's clear she accepted his faults and loved him for what he was. Geniuses often have tortured souls.

It's also sad to watch this, knowing that he'd be dead the next year.

    RIP, Stu.
