Make sure that you are plugging into a "full power" USB port (not on your keyboard). Make sure that FLIPVIDEO appears on your desktop as a USB drive (or in the Finder window). If these 2 things are in place, you should be good to go. BTW, it's also working for me in Snow Leopard and iMovie 11, too!
Hi Bill it's a great tutorial thanks, but like the two pervious comments it will only show my isight camera. I've done/checked all the things you've suggested e.g. iMovie '09; checked drop-down menu; enable iMovie after I've plugged in Flip, all to know avail. Any other suggestions? Thanks!
You've essentially explained the standard iMovie process. HOWEVER. . . does your demo use an HD Flip or standard? I'm thinking of buying an HD Flip. In that case, would your tuturial still apply just as you presented it? Thank you!
@ciscocptraining Hey there, cool tutorial. Just that I have the same problem as @animalluver153 AND if i check the drop-down menu, there is nothing but the iSightcam there. Ive installed the "flipshare" that comes with the flip. Any ideas? TIA
@okeydokeyherewego Make sure you're using iMovie 09 - it doesn't work in iMovie 08 or older. Also, if it doesn't appear, make sure that you have the Flip camcorder plugged in BEFORE you launch iMovie 09. :-) Hope this helps!!
Can you please help me when i press the camera button it just goes into my webcam and i see the selection where i can chose camera or webcam but it wont show my flip video on there
cool thanks. I thought Flip cameras weren't capable with iMovie '09 and you had to buy some software to convert the clips but I guess you proved that wrong.
thanks mannn

I'm wondering why when i import my clips from my flip into iMovie it only imports half the clip not the whole clip.

i am asking for a flip hd for christmas this year. to plug it in, so you simply plug in the flip, or do you need a special chord?

@tbebert71 Demo used an UltraHD camcorder, but any Flip camcorder will be recognized by iMovie09.

Check the drop-down menu in the lower left corner of the Import window. Will allow you to switch from your iSight to your Flip :-)
